PYGFO-Weekend check-in

Cathlete
Happy weekend ladies:)

Today is KB/BC plus BC bis/tris. I will be able to wear my hrm today:7 It cost a pretty penny to get it fixed, but still allot less than buying a new one.

Robin- I love Amy's ASC! Are you buying her ASC2? When I previewed the clip I did not care for it. I'll wait and see what the reviews are like.

Laura- You are one busy woman! BTW- ruffles and french onion dip, while being very tasty, are terrible, I will agree with you.;-) :p

Lara- hope you feel better today, get some rest!:)

Enjoy your day!

Good Afternoon!

Today was 4ds KB/BC cardio and Stretch Max 1. It was my first time to do KB and BC and me likey!!:7 They both seemed to move along so quickly. I didn't wear my HRM but am curious how high my HR went. I was worn out during BC.

Michelle--What did you think about it? Tell me what your HRM registered.

Robin--Send some m&ms my way please! I like them all!:9

Laura--You sound like quite the busy lady!

Lara--Hope you aren't getting sick again. You also have a lot going on! What type of knee surgery did your DH have? My ds has had several knee surgeries and both of my parents have had knee replacements, so I have been the knee nurse many times.

Have a great day!
Gin:)

Gin-for kb/bc, my average heart rate was 126, and I was only in my 'zone' 28 min. out of the whole 54 min. :( I do agree though, the workout did move right along.

Today is a rest day all the way around. No workout and nothing else to do either. Woo hoo! We've tried to really limit what goes on Sat morn and afternoon so that we can have some down time and family time.

But last Sat was the air show, so while FUN it wasn't restful. So I'm lovin' today!

BTW, Gin, did you go to the airshow last weekend? It was just awesome.

Tonight we're taking the kids to a trunk or treat just down the road at the church. DS's birthday is actually on the 31st, so that always makes an interesting conflict between all the other parties and his birthday. So, tonight we're trunk or treating, and his party will be on Tuesday night. Wed we'll drive to my parents' house to celebrate with them in AR (closer to you, Lara).

DH is leaving tomorrow for a big bike ride. His buddy is biking all the way from the Rio Grande up to the Red River. DH would've loved to do the whole ride, but with our furlough schedule, he's only going to do 2 days. Fitting in workouts Mon and Tues while he's gone will be trickier, but I'll be sure to do it somehow!

Hi all. Today I did MIS. I don't think I've ever done this workout, since I just bought it this past summer. I was huffing and puffing and dripping. Thank goodness tomorrow is a rest day.

Yes Michelle, I got Amy's ASC2. In fact it arrived today, but I haven't had time to preview it. Maybe tomorrow while I'm resting.

Gin, I think BC is the toughest cardio of the new series. It makes me sweat more than any other workout I have. LOL about the M&Ms. A coworker felt bad about leaving so much work for me to clean up over the weekend, so she bought me a bag of peanut M&Ms. Dang! I just joined the 10 pound meltdown check in.

Laura, I hope you enjoyed your day off. My grandson's birthday is Oct 31 too. We are having a small party for him tomorrow evening. Hope your DH enjoys his bike ride. I didn't get my bike out of the garage all summer.:-(

Lara, Carolyn, Vicki (if your home) have a nice evening. I'm headed for bed. Penn State is losing to Ohio State and I'm afraid to watch the second half.

I saw that!!

:p :p :p

Sorry for hijacking your thread. I'll just mosey on out of here now :D

Michele, just scoot over to haterville and leave your Ohioian-sticky-tongue-out-smilies out of here. I see PSU lost last night. Oh well, this isn't to be the year. I'd sure like them to go undefeated again before JoPa dies.

I made a cake and a pumpkin pie last night. DD has plans to do some housework, so when I get home from work this afternoon, all I should have to do it sit. Oh, and eat cake. Just a smidge. Hope all you PYGOers (and hater hijackers) have a good Sunday.

Good Morning!

Today was a rest day so I did Baron Baptiste's Unlocking Athletic Power yoga. That is my favorite of his yogas. Only 27 min. and some good poses. I may walk later. Pretty day here!:)

Laura--I missed the air show. I'll bet your kids enjoyed it though. Happy Birthday to your ds on Halloween.

Robin--Happy Birthday to your grandson. MIS is a tough one. Cathe's older workout videos are just as tough if not tougher than her newer ones!:p I bought the fall colored bag of m&ms and put them in a pretty glass bowl near my entry way. They look so festive, but every single time I walk that way, I have to grab a few! I have no willpower!

Have a great day!
Gin:)

Morning all:)

Today is a rest day, so I'm going to trim hedges. Hopefully for the last time this year.

Wow, Amy really got her series out quick! I wonder when Tracey will start shipping?

Have a great day everyone!

Hello.

I just got done with KB and BC cardio followed by chest/back/shoulders/calves/core from LIS/HIS. It was my first time doing these weight segments. I really liked them. My calves are still burning!! Tomorrow I think I will try the double cardio from HIS/LIS if I have time when I get home from work.
Yesterday I had to go to a continuing education course. I had to get up at 4:30 and drive a few hours to get there. I got home with just enough time to brush my teeth and hair and head out the door for a birthday dinner with friends. I have not had much sleep, and I think I am starting to feel it.
I am feeling better today though. DH is up and around. He is doing well, but is having soreness all over from walking differently than normal.

Michelle...I haven' t ever had a HR monitor. I am thinking of purchasing one though. I know you have probably posted this before, but which brand do you have?

Gin...DH had a medial meniscus tear. He had a menisectomy. How did your ds and parents do after surgery? Total knees seem painful. I have observed 3 total knee surgeries, and I can definitely see why people are in so much pain when they wake up and start to rehab. I love BC too!! I want to say it is my favorite, but eveytime I do another cardio section, I think that one is my favorite!! I guess it is a tie for me:)

Laura...I hope you enjoyed trunk or treating with your kids. My mom's birthday is also on Halloween. She is a teacher and always celebrates with her kids during the day and then we usually take her to dinner. Have a fun time at your parents and be careful traveling!

Robin...MIS is a tough one! I haven't done it in so long. I may have to revisit it this week. I need a good cardio workout this week to make up for too many rest days last week!! Please let us know what you think of ASC2. I have pre-ordered all of her new ones, but I don't have them yet. I don't have the original ASC, but if I like the 2nd one, I may have to order it.

Michelle...I think I read that Tracey will be able to ship in about a week. I think she had to get a new master for the step DVD. It shouldn't be too much longer. I am about to have a new arsenal of DVDs to use. I also have Kelley Coffey Meyer's new ones, but haven't been able to try them yet.

I am off to do paperwork and to continue writing thank you notes for a shower that the teachers (where my mom works) gave me. I am so happy about all of these gifts, but I just can't keep up!! Have a great rest of the weekend.

Lara, glad to hear you were able to enjoy your workouts, it's a good burning in the calves though, right?}(
You will have to let me know how you like the new Kelley Coffey-Meyer workouts. I have to admit I liked the clips I saw of the step box one.
My hrm is a polar M61-http://www.amazon.com/Polar-Heart-Rate-Monitor-Watch/dp/B00075T1Z8. I have had this one for a couple of years, and love it! The wear link strap is the most comfortable, better than the plastic one they used to have. It has a 2 user option, so I have my info and DH info in there.

Well, I'm of to finish making dinner.

Michelle...Yes, it is a good burn---or at least I had to keep telling myself that while I was doing the calve exercises. I am so glad that Cathe added that section!! Thanks so much for the link to the HR monitor. I will read up on the polar HR monitor. Hopefully, I will invest in one soon!! I hope dinner was good:9

See you all tomorrow!!

PYGFO Check-in

PYGFO Sisters:

I have been catching up on my sleep and having a blast with the 4-Day Split workouts. My computer time has been limited, so I am still check-in challenged. LOL! I am hoping to be more consistent in November. (Yes, I know y’all will believe that when you see it. LOL!) These were my workouts last week:

10-22-07 a.m. 4-Day Split Higher Intensity Step (chest and back weights first premix)

10-23-07 a.m. 4-Day Split Kickbox (legs and core weights first premix)

10-24-07 a.m. 4-Day Split Lower Intensity Step (shoulders weights first premix + calves and core)

10-25-07 a.m. 4-Day Split Boot Camp (biceps and triceps weights first premix)

10-26-07 a.m. 4-Day Split Higher Intensity Step/Lower Intensity Step (double cardio premix)

10-27-07 a.m. 4-Day Split Kickbox/Boot Camp (cardio power premix)

LIS has my all-time favorite warm-up of any workout I have ever experienced (live or on video by Cathe or anyone else). It is dancy and so much fun. I fell in love with the hip hop move during Cathe’s Friday morning step class and the Road Trip. I love the step sweep in the first combination too. HIS is a blast too! I wanted something as much fun as Cathe’s Friday morning step class on DVD, and she granted my wish with these new workouts. The choreography is creative, dancy, fresh, and fun with some of my favorite moves like mambos, cha chas, triple steps, figure 8s, power jigs, ponies, pivots, spins, and turns. I enjoyed the double cardio premix for my Friday morning cardio party. Fun, fun, fun! This premix is definitely in the same league with Rhythmic Step and Step Works and includes the fun LIS warm-up!

Boot Camp is more playful and fun than I expected it to be, and I am delighted with Kickbox. It too brings back warm memories of the Road Trip and has elements of Cardio Kicks and Kick Max. This is without a doubt my favorite kickboxing workout. I would love to have Rhythmic Step 2 as well as a long kickboxing workout similar in style and intensity to this one. I love dancy and complex step choreography, but I prefer simpler kickboxing combos so I can free my mind and focus on executing the moves with good form. This is the first kickboxing workout that makes me happy! I love Cathe’s other kickboxing workouts, but there is something special about this one.

Did I mention that I am delighted with these new workouts?! The production quality is spectacular. I feel like I am up close and personal with Cathe and the crew. These workouts are a joy and delight to watch and experience. I can tell that Cathe poured her heart and soul into these new workouts and invested a lot of creative energy in creating them.

Since there are 3 days left in this month, I am planning to experiment with the premixes and wrap up this month with a 3-day split and start fresh on the first of November with Cathe’s rotation or the series as designed. The premixes for a 3-day split are short enough to give me time for cardio too.

My weekend eating was not perfect, but I did not indulge in any junk this weekend. That is progress with plenty of room for improvement!

Have fun with your workouts this week!

Blessings,
Heather B.
