PYGFO Sisters:

Good morning! Three months ago, I was enjoying my first live Cathe step class. I am missing Cathe and my Road Trip sisters this morning! Thankfully, the weekend has finally arrived! I am ready for a restful weekend. I started Cathe’s November rotation Sunday morning, and I am wrapping up the first week with a rest day. It will be interesting to see how my body responds to 30 minutes of cardio 5 days a week with a stretch day and a rest day. This rotation feels “just right” for where I am in this journey. The way Cathe added stretch and rest days is making this series even more enjoyable for me. These were my workouts for the week:

11-04-07 Higher Intensity Step
11-05-07 Kickbox
11-06-07 Stretch Max
11-07-07 Lower Intensity Step
11-08-07 Boot Camp
11-09-07 Higher Intensity Step (cardio premix)
11-10-07 rest

I did the weights first premixes the first week I did this series on my own and the premixes for a 3-day split the second week. I decided to do the workouts as produced this month for Cathe’s rotation. I discovered that doing cardio first gives me a better workout overall. I prefer fasted cardio but need fuel before weight workouts. Enjoying the cardio first then taking a quick break for part of a hemp protein smoothie before the weight work is the perfect solution for me. I had more energy for cardio this way and was surprised to discover that I was able to lift heavier weights because I was all filled up with warm fuzzies from the fun cardio! Yippee! Cardio first for me! Boot Camp is the possible exception. It is a tough workout no matter which way I do it! That biceps and triceps work is intense!

These workouts make me so happy (especially the cardio kickboxing and step choreography)! Other than Cathe’s Friday morning step class and the Road Trip, I have not been this excited about my fitness journey in a long time.

I believe I have experienced my “breakthrough” with this series. When all is said and done, I believe I will testify that gaining 10 pounds when I started this series was one of the best things that ever happened to me. Why? Because it convinced me to pack up my scale and start enjoying the journey again instead of stressing over my weight. I feel so free! The pressure is off! Yippee!

I know from flirting with the Slow and Heavy Series for a few weeks last year that heavy weight training makes me tired and hungry. I miss the natural high and feeling of bursting with energy that an intense cardio and circuit training rotation gives me, but I am having so much fun with these workouts. I need to have fun now because it appears that Cathe is going to start cracking the whip in 2008. I am enjoying every minute of these fun and dancy step workouts because the party will be over when the new Shock Training System arrives! I love the thought of having a series planned by Cathe for results!

I enjoyed the chat with Cathe during my lunch hour yesterday. Good news! She has not given up on the boxing series or Rhythmic Step 2! I just need to be patient! It makes me happy to know that she will continue producing the Cathe workouts I know and love in addition to the STS workouts. Yippee!

My eating has been stellar this week. I have been eating 5 times a day in addition to a hemp protein smoothie after my weight workouts. I added a little extra protein to my menus this week in the form of organic air-chilled chicken. I am listening to my body and feel good about my way of eating, so I decided not to make any other changes at this time. I will feel even better next week after my body adjusts to the time change. This time change wipes me out every year even though we gain an hour. I definitely like sunshine and warm weather!

Robin, are you enjoying Cathe’s November rotation?

Michelle, I am sharing your love of the kickboxing workout. Fun, fun, fun!

Tess, did you ever post pictures of your preview party with the Atlanta girls? I missed them if you did.

Gin, I am keeping you in my prayers. I hope you feel better.

Vicki, you are such an inspiration to me. I have walked in victory over binge eating for over 4 years and know what a joy that is. Your transformation inspires me too. It encourages me to read that you were able to fill out the loose skin in your arms with muscle as this is much more appealing to me than surgery. I thought I would need to hire a personal trainer when I got closer to my goal weight, but I am very excited about Cathe’s announcement. I would love to finish my journey at home with her!

Liann, welcome back!

Hugs to Lara, Laura, and Carolyn.

Blessings,
Heather B.

Good Morning PYGFOers!

I am planning to do HIS/C&B in just a minute---FUN!:) Hope I can keep up with all of those pushups Cathe makes us do!x(
Sadly, I missed going to my ds's college Parent's Weeekend due to a severe migraine headache. The headache lasted 24 hours and the new meds caused me not to be able to sleep. I finally got rid of the headache and took sleeping pills last night, was able to sleep and feel like a new person.:7

Heather--So nice to hear from you! You sound great!!:7 3 months since the RT.....such GREAT memories. Glad you are also enjoying the new 4ds workouts! WTG with the healthy eating and exercising, you healthy girl you! Thank you so much for your prayers. That meant so much to me.:) I have the gyno procedure on Thursday and I expect all to go well.

I miss all of you PYGFOers over the weekend!
Gin:)

PYGFO Check-in

PYGFO Sisters:

Happy Sunday! Welcome to a new week! I started the second week of Cathe’s November rotation this morning with Higher Intensity Step. Fun, fun, fun! I thought Cathe forgot to add a blast after the first step combo. It dawned on me this morning that the blast is fun and choreographed and feels like an extension of the step choreography. This is my favorite blast of all time! It took me 3 weeks to recognize it as a blast. LOL! I would love to see Cathe create more choreographed blasts like this one.

I was bursting with energy after the fun cardio this morning, but heavy weight training always makes me tired. I am ready to enjoy a long nap this afternoon. Oh, I am so excited! I can use 20-pound weights for incline presses now. I am sure that is light for most of you, but 12 pounds was heavy for me 3 weeks ago.

I need to do dishes and laundry and grocery shopping this afternoon. Have a blessed Sunday!

Gin, I am so glad you checked in this morning. I was fixin’ to respond to myself. LOL! Have fun with your workout. I had fun with that one this morning.

Blessings,
Heather B.

RE: PYGFO Check-in

Sorry to be so scarce here over the weekend. We been running, with guests Friday, shopping and a church dinner last night, and church and Fellowship lunch today. I'm getting ready to head back into town for pizza night, but have to make myself a salad.

Heather, I often find myself thinking about the road trip. I hope I get to do another one before I'm too old to enjoy it.

Gin, I'm so sorry about your migraine. But I'm glad you've recovered. Too bad you couldn't make parents weekend.

Yesterday was 4DS bootcamp and today was Amy ASC2.

Heather, I'm doing well with the Nov rotation so far. Week 2 starts tomorrow.

See you all then.

RE: PYGFO Check-in

Afternoon-

Just wanted to pop in and say hi. No workouts to report. Next week for sure!:)

Robin, I'm still previewing ASC2.

A big hello to Heather and Gin!

RE: PYGFO Check-in

Hello.

I am back from our short weekend away. We had a great time, but I am not feeling very rested. We stayed in a supposed "haunted" hotel. I get scared easily. Between talk of ghosts and our room being so bright in the morning, there was not much sleep:( We had some really great food and some excellent wine though:9
Today was 4DS Legs/calves/shoulders and LoMax. I am hoping to fit in a workout tomorrow since I missed 3 days in a row last week. I am working late, so we'll see.

Heather...I am glad you are enjoying the new series so much. I love it too!! I have been doing my own mish moshes of them and have not been doing them as produced. I love having so many options!! Laundry, dishes, and groceries were on my list today also. Congrats on the 20 pounds for chest!! BTW, it is NOT light to me!!

Gin...I am sorry you missed ds's parent weekend. I am glad you are feeling better though:) I hope you had fun with HIS and weights!

Robin...Did you eat only your salad instead of pizza? Just curious b/c that is some serious willpower!! I LOVE pizza:9

Michele...I think I need to preview ASC2 again before I try it. I still haven't tried any of Amy's new ones. I hope to get to them this week.

I hope you all had a great weekend.
