PYGFO Tuesday

Goodmorning girlfriends! I feel like I've been gone forever, but I'm sure it's just been a couple days.

Gin, I'm glad you feel better without the meds. All the posting about running that everyone seems to be doing makes me want to put some in my rotation. Of course, I get the itch to run when the temps dip into the 30's! I don't have a treadmill. Guess I'll have to wait till spring.

Vicki, I'm glad the pary was a success. You are such a busy woman. No wonder you feel burnt out. I've taken a week of rest, mostly due to a cold, but I think it's good for my knee, which has been off and on ouchy since the RT. I can't wait to workout again! Hopefully tomorrow.

Tess, sorry about the migraine. I'm so thankful not to ever experience one. I was LOL at your post about keeping up with me on the RT. Thanks!

Michelle, whew, sounds like you worked out enough for all of us over the weekend. Thank you!

Hey to Lara, Laura, Carolyn, Liann and anyone I missed. As I said, I'm taking one more rest day to round it off to a whole week. I hope the sniffles abate enough to allow a workout tomorrow. Have a great day all.

Good morning Robin!

Did you ever get your HISM2? What did you think?I have done the first 40 min. of it. It will be a nice little cardio add on. :) The one thing that bothered me was, I had to blast my tv in order to hear what she was saying.

Lara, I think I overindulged on the pie also:p :-(

Gin, I can tell you feel better!:)

Tess, hope you got some sleep last night.

Vicki, looks like you need some sleep also...take a rest girl.

Laura, hope you feel better today.

Yesterdays workout was GSlegs, this is the forst time I have ever done that workout..and I am feelin' it today}(
So, I have been doing Cathe's November rotation...anyone else? Results at the 3rd week-- I have put on 2.5 pounds...clothes still fit the same. I have had some real strength gains though, so I guess that makes up for it. Maybe I shouldn't have weighed myself after Thanksgiving!LOL!

Yes Michelle. I finally got HISM2 yesterday. I only had time to preview the warm up and first segment, but liked what I saw. I know what you mean about the sound though. Isn't Allison cute? I just have to grin, watching her jump around like the crazy stepper she is.

Good Afternoon PYGFOers!

Didn't workout this am, so am giong to attempt to do HIS/Shoulders and Core now before I run out of steam.

Tess--Okay, I caught what you had...no sleep last night and a bad migraine!x( I took 2 Cafergot (has caffeine) and 1 Anaprox at 5am and I feel good now. Sorry the Imitrex didn't help you!

Vicki--Slow down, girl! You are such a fun mom!! The Cryo procedure was fine. A little uncomfortable during and a little crampy the rest of the day, but not too bad, really.

Laura--Take care of yourself. Is your furlough almost over?

Lara--You also need to slow down. 12 hour work day? Yikes! What do you do that you "play" at work?

Robin--You can run in 30 degree weather in the right clothes. I do not like cold weather, so if I can do it you can too. Unless, of course, if your knee is hurting. Hope you get over your cold soon!

Michelle--I have been doing Cathe's Nov. rotation also, except wasn't able to follow very well last week when felt like &*%$. My ds (20) got on the scale right after eating Thanksgiving dinner. ONly a 20 year old boy would do that!! He has gained 25 lbs. of muscle in the last 2 years since he started working out. He was quite skinny before.

Gin:)

Gin, no, I try not to run if it is below freezing. It seems to be the magic number and anything below that sets off my asthma. Funny, the asthma never kicks up when I'm cross country skiing in all kinds of weather. Maybe it's all in my head. I'm glad to hear you ran off your migraine. High fives to your muscle bound son!

Yes, I want to know, too, what Lara does to "play" at work. Sounds fun.:)

I'm feeling almost well enough to work out, but DS was sick last night, and I was up with him last night, so I'm worn out today.

Vicki, you just sound like a great mom. I'd love to see you in action with your family. Of course, I saw in person back in August how high-energy you are, so I can just imagine.

Gin--do you run all the way through the winter? I don't even have asthma, and it hurts my lungs.

One thing I'm really missing about working out in Uganda is that I NEVER have to be cold. I hate getting up in the morning here and being cold before I work out, and then getting hot and sweaty while it's still cold. My body is SO confused. In Uganda, I start out being just right, get REALLY hot (especially if the power is off), and then take a shower and cool off to "just right" again. But "cold" is just never a factor. I'm going to go back and really appreciate what I've got. I've been gripey at times about just having a room AC (versus central H/C), about power being off, about it being so hot that I have to have a fan blowing straight on me (and I often have 3 fans on in the room). But working out here has reminded me how much I prefer being really hot to being cold. But now I have new perspective. It's tough to get up and work out when it's cold! x(

Well, there's my little nostalgia about Africa. :) We definitely try to appreciate the good of the US while we're here and the good of Uganda while we're there. But we humans are so prone to the "grass is greener" syndrome. Since we go back and forth between two worlds, we could be consumed with it, and so we try to really focus on the good points of both of our "homes." There is so much to be thankful for in both places.

I'll step down off my soap box now, girls. Didn't mean to type so much!

Laura

Hello.

Today was HSC and 4DS LIS/HIS cardio. I am still trying to make up for all of the food I have eaten. I will have to get up early and workout before work tomorrow b/c I work until 7 and have to go straight to the Razorback basketball game from work. No time for dinner or anything. I think I will have to pack lots of healthy snacks tomorrow!

Robin...I hope your sniffles are much better. I also hope your knee feels better. My knees are not the best right now either. I am hoping after the barometric readings have changed and leveled off that my knees will not hurt so much. Who knows if that is the real problem, but I am hoping that is it. I am with you on running in the cold weather. It just hurts!! I much prefer my TM when it is cold--but if I didn't have one, I would just stick to DVDs and the gym.

Michelle...I love GS Legs. I hope your soreness has subsided. So, HISM2 is a good add-on? I have it, but have not tried it yet. I am hoping to get to it later this week. I did the Parts DVD over the weekend. I was sore the next day. BTW, I WILL NOT step on the scale for at least another week!!! I can't bare to see the damage I have donex( ;(

Gin...How was HIS? I have so much fun with that workout! I "play" all day with my kids at school (I work in an outpatient pediatric clinic and in several school districts). I am a pediatric physical therapist, so I have to be creative to get them to work toward and achieve their goals. I try to do a lot of the exercises with my kiddos--lots of running, jumping, hopping, skipping, jumping jacks, sit-ups, push-ups, etc. It is a lot of fun, but sometimes it is SO exhausting--especially after 12 hours!

Laura...Yes, I play a lot at work!! I only wish I could just play with my kids and not worry about documenting progress (or lack of), paper work, evaluations, etc. I guess that is just part of the job. It makes it all worth while when I see their smiling faces or get a hug when I pick them up for therapy:) It just warms your heart! I really don't like being cold either. It is miserable to change into workout clothes when you are freezing! I usually go in the bathroom and trun on the heater while I change. By the time I am done with the warm-up, I am burning up and sweating. The cold never lasts for long (until your done and still sweating and then it returns). I hope you and your family are on the mend!!

Tomorrow is a very busy day. I am going to try and go to bed now, but I wish it was earlier. Have a great day tomorrow!!!
