Pure strength vs slow and heavy

Just wanted to ask quickly when the major difference between the 2 workouts is. I believe they are both strenght routines. I have seen slow and heavy on fit TV and it is very intense mental and physical workout. What about pure strenght?
any comments are appreciated.

Yes Slow & Heavy is very intense and you really have to concentrate to go slower. I believe the upper body segments are longer than the upper body segments in PS. I only do Slow & Heavy about once every 10 days. PS moves alot faster and has a nice floor routine for the legs. I do enjoy both...:)...Carole

S&H takes out the momentum from the exercise so you work your muscle hard and recruit more muscle fibers for more mass and strength. Cathe uses a 2/6 or 6/2 count to work on the positive movement of the exercise. You can reverse the counts to work the negative, if that's what you prefer.

PS is a gym-style workout that you can do at home. Although it doesn't require intense focus, it is still intense physically.

From what I've read, Slow & Heavy is more of a plateau breaker that you'd use for two weeks or so, whereas Pure Strength would be more the basis for a longer-term routine. Both are awesome!

I agree, Slow and heavy is one that you might do for max 4 weeks...it is really intense. But I've done as long as 12-16 weeks of Pure Strength and really attribute most of my muscle base to these workouts. PS is really such a solid series, you can use it in a lot of ways too. The two upper body workouts are short enough (40 ish minutes) to combine with some cardio, and the lower is easily split into standing and floorwork. I love PS.

PS is a good series to have in your collection. I think of it as the foundation because I keep coming back to it. It's older but a very solid workout. I have to say I love the PYRAMIDs but PS is good for days when you want a nicely paced workout that's not too slow and not too fast. I love these split routines because they have enough sets to make you feel you are making a difference. S&H is also an amazing series. I think I lasted as long as 4 months doing them because I loved S&H Legs.
