I agree that PLB/PUB is more challenging. You have to do a lot of weight changes with those & that alone is a challenge. Even though Cathe changes the weights right along with you, I still have to pause the tape & I get very out of breath!
I don't own Pure Strength, but I love the pyramid workouts and they continue to challenge me! I have used the whole pyramid workout, the premixes, the bonus workout, and done one body part a day during different rotations. It is a great workout!

I agree, PLB & PUB are more challenging but the PS Series is awesome too. You just might have to get BOTH!

I agree with Debbie that you just might have to get both! They are very different workouts. PLB/PUB moves very quickly. You can't beat the stability ball floorwork in PLB. PS is much slower, so I think you can go concentrate on going heavier. JMHO.

PLB/PUB, especially since you are getting it in DVD. You can do a split routine (upper body one day, lower body another day), a full-body, pyramid-up routiine, or either upper or lower body as pyramid up or down. Great options!
I think the pyramids might be more challenging too, but they are both excellent workouts and both of them are my absolute favorites of Cathe's strength videos.
Both series are good. But since the Pyramids are new the music is better and because there isn't a lot of rests in between sets then you get a lot done in the time you put in. Plus you have the option of doing 3 or 5 sets or a bonus combo of a total body. I find I can't lift heavy with this series but not as light as I would with an Endurance workout. That makes it a good in between workout. There are days when I can't devote 3 days to weights so with a 2 day split I don't have to worry that I did chest, shoulders and triceps but couldn't fit in back and biceps.
That being said, The PS series gives you rests between sets ( i used to think it was too little until the Pyramids showed up )and I can lift heavier. The back and triceps seem better. The music is dull. But that's because it's older. It's an excellent series to own.
If you have the time for a three day split, I recommend PS, but if you're like me and only have time to get in two days of strength training then go for the pyramids. The awesome ballwork on each workout is an added bonus. The ab work in the PS series is more traditional.
At some future date, if you want to really work each muscle group fully, go for PS. For me it's more effective than S & H.
I would start with PLB/PUB first and then add on the pure strength series later on. I use the pyramids much more than the pure strength series. I consider my Cathe videos part of my permanent collection - I have them all (though I do wish I had them all on DVD).
