Puppy Update

Cathlete
I posted two new pics of Gizmo on my picturetrail in the Dogs, Hair, Etc. album (and I must say they're adorable). We have agreed to take him to see how our dogs do with him over the weekend. We've had him here since last night. So far it's been pretty good, but our alpha female, Macy, won't leave him alone for long. They have quite the lick fest going on. I think it is him being submissive to her by licking her mouth, but then they really go at it. Her hair has stood up a couple of times, which makes me really nervous. She snapped at him tonight, but I don't think she got him - just scared him. So we're watching them like hawks (and of course we're watching him like hawks anyway since he isn't housetrained - but no accidents yet - did I just jinx myself???). I'm hoping it all works out because I sure don't want to make him go back to the Shelter!

The vet said his jaw healed nicely, considering what a bad injury it was. It was broken in two places. He said it was due to "blunt force trauma". How on earth could someone hurt that little guy - or any animal for that matter?

Cute pics. People are so crazy sometimes.Did some one who is scared/terrified of dogs hit him? Who knows. He is cute.I have a 9 month old goldie pup and some one visited my home and really kicked her hard. Apperently not a dog liker even. I almost lost it but I did not. Ever since then I told myself if people do not like dogs they just cannot come over. What are your before pics for I hope you are not loosing more weight you look good.

Thanks for all the updates, Susan!!! So exciting to have a new family member; I hope it goes okay!!!!!

Susan, he is so cute! Which dog snapped at him the brown one or the black one? Hopefully they will get along o.k.He is probably enjoying it in your home and it would be a shame if he has to go back to the shelter.
Lori:)

Susan, OMG, that picture where they are all sticking their tongues out is so cute! I pray all goes well. It's so decent of you to take in the puppy.

Michele:)

P.S. I love your hair. What products do you use and how do you style it? Do you let it air dry? Just wondering--I'm a curly girl, too and I think we may have discussed this before.:)

Aw..he is soooo cute! All your little doggies are little dolls!! DH and I haven't had a chance to look for a puppy yet....he has been busy with business and I haven't been feeling well lately. After seeing all the pictures of your little cuties I really want to get right on it!!!;)

Robin:)

It really is sad when someone has to resort to animal cruelty...:-(

Well, I hope Macy warms up to the little guy. I would have a tendency to think, being a female, that she would want to take him "under her wing" and play mommy to him? Perhaps not though....Aaah well, I wish you the best...if you can not keep him, do you know of anyone who might want to take him? Trying to help you avoid the shelter.

Best of luck Susan!:)

We just applied to get a rescue dog... and we're all so excited if it actually happens. While we were looking, our eyes were really opened to the level of mistreatment out there. It's just horrible. I feel if someone can do harm to a dog, they've got a have a screw loose, and just imagine what they could do to a person. Animals definitely get the short end of the stick on this planet! (Don't get me started...)

I agree. They shouldn't be able to have children, either! (And sometimes, hearing the stories I do at the shelter I volunteer at, human euthanasia sounds like a good deal!).

He is adorable! He reminds me of my "Pokey Little Puppy" book from when I was a kid! You are wonderful for rescuing him! I hope there is a special place in "you know where" for people who abuse defenseless animals!

Robin - I hope you feel better soon. :(

Michele - I use Ouidad products mostly. I only shampoo once or twice a week, but I condition every day (since I sweat every morning!). Then I use a spray conditioner and gel and I use a diffuser for about 3 or 4 minutes with my head upside down while scrunching to bring out the curl. Some days it works, and others - yikes! But you already know that having curly hair. :)

Lori - Macy is the black and white one.

Roxy - The suspected "kicker" was also abusing his SO. And the puppy is LITTLE, so I can't imagine it was out of fear.

Wendy - I thought the same thing with the whole mommy thing with Macy. Apparently not! Maybe mommie dearest!

Delfin - Yay to you for looking for a rescue!!! Good luck and keep us posted.

Carolyn Jane - I agree that I hope there is that "special" place for people who abuse animals. I know we shouldn't wish people to hell, but...

Kathryn - I agree - euthanasia for some people - what a great idea!

Amy - THANKS!!!
