Pull up tower or TRX Suspension ?

Hey Guys , I have been thinking (maybe too much ) and I can't believe I am questioning myself on getting the Pull Up Tower because I have been anxiously awaiting the release date and waiting to start STS until it was available or I at least opted for a pull up bar of some kind. I was all set to order on Monday and I then I started checking out the TRX site and reviews and it seems like a pretty freakin' awesome addition to add to your training. I then saw you can do chin ups , muscle ups , dips etc with it and for the price thought it was close enough(at basic package price) to the tower price. What you guys think ? Now I know the tower can also be used as barbell rack for chest work and for push ups but my main interest was in fact for the angle options with incorporating pull up/chin ups into my training. Appreciate your thoughts....:D

Hi,

I read your post could you give us the website and more info on what TRX is please? That would be awesome or just pm me is good too.

Thanks~;)

Here is the website address, www.fitnessanywhere.com , and the basic equipment involved is a suspension strap with handles and either a door or wall mount anchor and is suppose to be "travel friendly" . You use your body weight to create resistance and can adjust the intensity it seems depending on your chosen leverage. It is used as a training tool /technique by pro athletes and Special Forces as well as fitness enthusiast. It comes with instructional workout video and has other DVD training workouts available as well for additional cost . Items are available in "Bundle Packages" and ala cart as well. I know they offer clinics and classes at various gyms around the country but I prefer to do my thang at home. Feel like I sound like an infomercial, LOL. I appreciate your response and any input you have. I tend to over analyze things so a voice outside my own head is very helpful

How completely wild that you posted this. I, too, have anxiously been awaiting the pull up tower. Then, when it came time to buy it, I didn't do it, even with my discount! I have been wanting the TRX for a few months now. I decided that I could do much, much more with the TRX. I already have the Iron Gym pull up thing for the doorway and I have a squat rack (got it free on craigslist). The problem was that the squat rack was slightly too high for chest work using the barbell. I figured out a nice fix for that, marked the tower off my list and am now waiting for the TRX Essentials bundle to be $199 again. I actually put it in the cart and used my code but it had expired. They send emails out periodically.

I think I am going to go with TRX , it looks so fun and offers some challenges I would like to take on. I am not big on making "Birthday requests" but I am going to with this if I can wait that long, LOL.

I've had my eye on this thing for a few years.
I didn't know you could attach it to a door.

I vote for...

The TRX! I own one, love it, use it all the time. It's very versitile & portable. I can't say enough good things about it. It's very reasonably priced considering what you can to with it. Big thumbs up on the TRX.

I have seen TRX clips on youtube. Too much fun to even seem like exercise. :) Great choice.

I like the TRX more - I just have to figure out how/where to use it in my home. Husband and I are in discussion. :)

I totally love my TRX, I bought it about 2 years ago and it is still in use. Either alone or with a weighted vest it's an awesome workout.
