PUB using stability ball

Hi all,

Yesterday I did Pyramid Upper Body using a stability ball
instead of the step as a bench. I used the ball for all chest
exercises and pullovers for the back. I liked incorporating
the core stabalization work into this work out. I did go lighter
on the weights due to the instability of the ball. Just another
way to do one of my favorite upper body workouts.

Hi Cindy! I did PUB this way last week! At this point in my pregnancy I'm advised to not lay flat on my back, so I am doing all those kinds of moves on the stability ball. I also like the fact that I'm getting some core stabilization work in at the same time.

PUB is a fantastic workout.

I love to use my stability ball as a bench for seated and lying moves. I'll often add it to a workout that doesn't use it.

Cindy, Did you feel like you got as good of a workout with the stability ball as you do with the bench? This is a good idea.

Debbie,

Yes, even with a little less weight used I actually felt it even more in my chest and back muscles using the ball while doing the workout. Plus the added challenge of engaging my core muscles to stabalize.

Cindy ~

Thanks for passing along your PUB on the stability ball. I have a tendency to "do exactly as Cathe" but you've reminded me that just because I'm following a video it doesn't mean I can't mix things up and use all my equipment. I've never used the ball in place of a bench but because of your post I'm going to give it a try! Thank you!
