PUB 1 part per day?

Is anyone currently using Pyramid Upper Body for a one part per day workout (ie: Monday-chest, Tuesday-back, etc.)? If so please let me know how it fits in that perspective.

I'm guessing the amount of time she spends on each part must be 10-12 minutes? Is that long/intense enough for one part to be worked to a good burn? (My gosh, what am I asking? I know Cathe . . .)

Hi Julie,

This my opinion only. I don't think PU provides enough per bodypart to make it a one bodypart per day workout. I'll give you an example on the chest work done in this tape.

dumbbell flyes & dumbbell presses are supersets. For example, the first set:
15 reps dumbbell flyes followed immediately by 15 reps dumbbell chest presses-30 reps total
12 reps dumbbell flyes followed immediately by 12 reps dumbbell chest presses-24 reps total
8 reps dumbbell flyes followed immediately by 8 reps dumbbell chest presses-16 reps total
12 reps dumbbell flyes followed immediately by 12 reps dumbbell chest presses-24 reps total
15 reps dumbbell flyes followed immediately by 15 reps dumbbell chest presses-30 reps total

As you can see it's actually a high rep workout so you will not be able to use heavy weights. The only way that I can see making this a heavy weight workout is if the DVD version of this workout is chaptered well enough so you can seperate the two exercises. For example, pyramid the chest presses and then the flyes. That's what I'm planning on doing when my DVDs arrive.
 
AS you probaly know if you have read my post I really like 1 part a day. I have been doing this as a whole.But I feel it can be enough for a good 1 body part a day.I am going to do this soon.It is only 2 exercises but 5 sets allowing you to go heavy esp on shoulders-bis-tris if split up .as you know if you have completed this whole tape you can't go heavy on the smaller groups.It is only 6-8min per part.I like to go really heavy like chest top wt 90lbs.But by the time I get to bis I can only top out 20 I really like 25 as a top wt.I don't like to go down in wt.but I am doing this as a whole in my own rotation.I plan on doing s&h as a 1 part a day along with pub on my next 4 week 1 body part roation.alternating between them .You try it and see what you think it has to suit you as a workout.good luck

Hey, thanks for the great info ladies.

Wow ONLY 6-8 minutes per part? I'm wondering if I could possibly repeat the segments 2 or 3 times:p. Maybe that would work.

I am anxiously awaiting those dvd's and trying to have some type of usable rotation on hand for them.

Yes, I do believe that PUB has a pyramd up option and a pyramid down option. Would that be more applicable to repeating the pyramids more than once?
