PS CST flies

Why do Cathe and crew seem to be leaning over when they are doing those V-shaped shoulder exercises in PS CST (reverse chest flys)? I always want to sit up straight for the exercise. I even tried using the same height stool that they are using but the leaning over doesn't make sense to my body. Am I missing something?

That feels incredibly "odd" for my body as well. If I'm sitting as they are, I want to sit straight rather than bend forward for some reason, unless I'm using really light weight like 5#. So what I do instead is stand, and bend forward at the hips (table top back), and do my reverse flys in a bent over standing position. I can use heavier weight, and feel the work in my back better.

By bending over, they are hitting the rear shoulder. If you stand or sit up straight, you would be hitting the lateral (side) shoulder muscle. You could try putting a pillow in your lap to support your upper body, or try doing the exercise on top of a stability ball. You can even do the same exercise while leaning forward over a stability ball or a stool.
