Protein snacks?

Hi,
Can anyone list some good protein snacks for me? I plan to try to eat 6 times a day, with my 2 snacks giving me some protein. I know what foods have protein but I don't know what quantities I should be eating. For example, it's about 2 1/2 hrs. after lunch, and I just ate one hard-boiled egg for my snack. Should I have had 2? I've tried some of the energy bars/shakes and like them - but they seem to have so many calories(300)! I cut one bar in half and even that seems like a lot of calories for a snack!

thanks,
Candice

A handful of any kind of nuts or sunflower/pumpkin seeds. A glass of soymilk or regular milk, a nonfat yogurt. A single slice of cheese. A spoonful of peanut butter. A smoothie with protein powder.

A satisfying snack for me is normally a protein combined with a high fiber carb washed down with loads of water. Cottage cheese with fruit (very filling!), plain nonfat yogurt with granola, a bowl of very high fiber cereal with berries and skim milk, chopped veggies dipped in hummus, whole wheat toast with a slice of low fat cheese or peanut butter and soy nuts are some of my favourites.

Ooooo, these are some of the things that I enjoy.

1/3 cup honey roasted soynuts
12 ounces V-8 juice
12 ounces of water

1/4 cup roasted sunflower seeds
1/2 cup cottage cheese
12 ounces of water

Then, of course, there is the old stand bys . . . yogurt, trail mix, cheese and triscuits, peanut butter and triscuits, peanut butter and fresh veggies or fruit, such as celery, bananas, apples, etc.

Really good snacks.

Keta. :D
