PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION: SEPTEMBER "SCHOOL DAYS"

I did STS Plyo Legs 32. I have a muscle in my calf that's still twitching, lol. I didn't like the plyos when I did the rotation but I tried one again a few months ago and enjoyed it. Funny how our likes change.

Just finished Push/Pull, and had a lovely three mile dog walk earlier today.

think i'm done for the day, maybe will tack on LIS to my workout tomorrow, we'll see. Felt good to get moving again, don't want to overdo it though :)

Peng that twitchy muscle is getting stronger! lol...be sure to stretch it out, especially in your calves. those babies get tight don't they?

Ooh, I did hit the grocery store today and am fully stocked on lots of lovely fruits, veggies, fish, and chicken breast so I shouldn't need to get any more bad take-out food while hubby is gone :)

Peng, good job on the Plyo Legs. I've had this workout for over a year and still havent gotten the nerve to try it, maybe I should...

Andrea, stocking up on fruits and veggies is a step in the right direction! Did you catch the controversial game last night?? My poor doggies never go on a walk, no sidewalks where I live and my dogs like to chase cars and bark at everything so it's just downright embarassing to take them anywhere. I've tried leash training, bark collars etc nothing has worked yet :(

I never did workout, had tons of errands to do and was out running all day. Hope to get a workout in tomorrow after work even if it's just walking on the treadmill.

Stacy, because of my balance issues I don't use weights for a lot of lower body exercises {i'm busy trying to stay upright} and then I make most of the plyo exercises low impact {if they are doing jump straddles, I"m doing 'out, out, in, ins' or v-steps} so this way the workouts are vey do-able After Cathe came out with the Shock Cardio system I stopped doing her workouts because of the jumping, focus on high impact, and I just felt she had outgrown my 'intermediate' self but in the meantime I learned how to modify my other workouts and not feel bad because I was 'cheating' by doing low impact. I'm just now getting back to using Cathe's workouts, dispite my purchase of LIS series, but now I don't feel bad if I can't keep up with the gang. I have a lot of Kelly Coffey-Meyers workouts and mostly do more than the modifier and less than Kelly, but as Kelly says its still the same workout.

Poor April doesn't get walked unless Hubby is with us. I have vision problems, can't see very far, and just don't trust myself with crossing streets. We live in a small neighborhood between two busy streets. Also she pulls like a drafthorse even with a Halti, I thought I had messed up my shoulder last week with weights but it was just my share of holding Aprils leash.

If I didn't walk my dogs I'm pretty sure they'd eat our house :) At the very least, Pinto would whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine all day long, and it's really really annoying!

My hips and back feel really tight today, so I ordered some new Kundalini Yoga DVD's :) Should be here Thursday. Going to do one of the ones I already have first thing in the morning.

This week and next week will finish up my beginner rotation and then I guess I get to graduate! Very exciting! :)

OK goodnight all. Gettin up nice and early tomorrow :)

I love the weather here:p! Sunday night I was cold so I put another quilt on the bed, then yesterdays high was 90* so last night I had to throw both quilts to the side and turn the fan back on! Its a comfy 80* inside and 70* outside.

I've always admired people who plan their workouts and rotations in advace, but since I don't feel I'm a 'planner' I never planned too far ahead and when I did I changed my mind. For the past few years I've worked off a general 'cardio one day, weights the next' rotation. So I proudly annouce that last night I made up a rotation for the month of Oct! the whole month! Its a generic rotation but I've even added in most of the specific workuots. I feel so organized.

Bible study and bread making for the day, along with more laundry and the 'body part du jour'.

I transplanted two houseplants to larger pots yesterday and thought I'd do some more today. I need to get out there and weed since its going to rain for the rest of the week. Of course its hotter this week!

I did LIC!!!!! YAYYYYYY! FnV, if you are still out there, thanks for encouraging me to give that one a try. OMG how much fun was that. Well, except for the pushups portion where I literally had tears in my eyes, and the ab part where I almost barfed...that was a lot of fun and time flew by. And I won't miss those 600+ calories I burned off according to my HRM.

I didn't do my yoga yet today, I forgot I was going to do that and ate some breakfast first thing, I really need to wait a few hours after eating to do yoga so I'll do it later on today. Dogs are asking for a walk too, but I have to shower and make myself presentable to the public after that sweat-fest before I walk them! lol!

Peng, I feel your pain on the weather. I wish it would just cool down and stay there! I want to change out my closet to mostly cold weather clothes, thinking I'll do that today, but sure enough as soon as I do, it will be back up to 90 next week. Rained here last night, hopefully some of the ragweed pollen will be washed out because of that.

Stacy, I meant to tell you, yes I DID watch that game the other night and stayed up until the end, that has got to be the nail in the coffin for the replacement refs. Something has got to be figured out. I miss Ed Hoculi (or however you spell it).

OK ladies, off to the showers, then it's more steppin! Around the neighborhood! (we don't have sidewalks on a large portion of our walk, but the streets are pretty quiet, especially during the day when everyone's at work, so we just walk on the street. We own the streets LOL). My dogs don't bark at cars, just other dogs. Having a little squirt bottle to jolt them out of their freak outs helps, and having gentle leaders on their faces makes them a lot easier to control, they can't DRAAAAAAAG me like they can if their leashes are on their collars or on body harnesses. We paid some people $500 to do in-home training, honestly it helped a ton. Started out walking where Rich had Nelson and I had Pinto. One day Rich was complaining about being tired so I took Nelson from him for a while and to my amazement it was actually easier to walk them both at once because they weren't fighting to get in front of each other. Then Rich started a job where he walks constantly and wasn't about to take another step to walk the dogs, I enjoyed walking them, it became my job, and I lost ten pounds in about 8 months of doing that! Everything is a process, and as the fortune cookie fortune that is on my refrigerator says, "Patience is the remedy for every trouble". :) Love those doggies!

Andrea, great job on LIC! We discovered that April pulls less when I hold the leash {I'm alpha} but she's still pretty bad even with the Halti. We bought another brand and tried it for a while but its harder to get her in and she can get out of it if we aren't watching her, like when she's in the back seat if we take her to the park.

I have a appointment with a retina specialist tomorrow afternoon, this is a regular checkup but its always several hours in the office at least. Good news, Its possible that Hubby might get to come home tonight!

Hubby was able to get an earlier flight, so is on his way home! yay! I have a routine visit to a retina specialist tomorrow after Bible study, this is one of those visits that take all day, because not only do we have to wait on my eyesto dialate, there's usually a big crowd. I was able to finish my bread early and have a sweet potato in the oven for my dinner.

I did one set of each exercise from P90x Shoulders and Arms including the bonus round.

glad to hear he was able to come home early.

I think mine wants me to drive to Florida and pick him up! His parents are driving him a little nuts :)

Life is getting in the way of my good intentions to workout. I worked 7am-5:30pm today, pretty much standing on my feet the entire day. My feet were throbbing when I got home, I was tired and hungry. So after putting my feet up, eating dinner and making a quick trip to run an errand, I'm home at 8:30pm and have to be up to be at work early and do it all over again tomorrow. Things will only get worse soon as we get into our busy season and a co-worker will be out soon on maternity leave. So I will do what I can and try to focus a bit more on my eating (which I should be doing anyways!!) than squeezing in a workout.

Hope everyone's hubby gets home safe and sound!

Good job on the workout ladies! I hope to pick up my slack soon!

Sounds like a good plan Stacy...about the focusing on eating. Not the long hours on your feet, hate that!
Easy day today, got up early and knocked out Basic Step and the add on abs. Off to work now...

I spent the whole day at Bible study, lunch, running errands with my parents, and at the eye doctor. The good news is my eyes are okay, and he didn't need to see me again for 6 months! Hubby got home before I did {very rare} and after mowing the lawn, he made pizza for dinner. This was his first attempt alone and it turned out great!

I woke up today feeling drained, then got a horrible headache, took meds and a nap which only helped a little. Hubby is having a night out with the boys, they are meeting at Boss' house and will work on their RC planes.

I"ve decided to keep with my plan of doing a short cardio and short weights each day. To this end I'm going through my workouts in search of prmixes to chop up the longer workouts, and making lists in Word. I found a template for a printed calendar page but after printing it out I found I could have done better with a straight edge and rular. So maybe reading small print and being on the computer a lot the past few days combined with the eye doc appintment caused my headache.

supersets today. boy am i sore! i don't think Cathe intended for beginners to take three mile walks everyday with their monsters in addition to cramming her rotation of seven days into five...plus i guess i only did ONE of the workouts that was actually in the beginner rotation...the rest are more intermediate so i guess i've got growing pains! picked hubby up from airport, he's glad to be home and i'm glad he's home, now it's off to bed and up at 0235 for my long, UN-fun weekend shift at work. grrrr.

No Wildcat football this weekend to worry about watching, so that's good i guess!

have a nice weekend, Peng i hope your headache goes away, Stacy i hope life slows down for you!

Yet another sleepless night. Hubby was stuffy, so his snoring kept me up most of the night. I finally got up and rest most of the Hunger Games, finished it off this morning. I liked the charaters but can't say I enjoyed the book.

From Cathe's Slow and Heavy I did the Back and Core section about 30min total. Although I've had S&H for almost 6 years I didn't realize that you could do just one body part section, as opposed to the pre-programmed workouts, I knew about the exercise chapters but didn't realize the sections were 'premixed' also. Then added on KCM's Quick Fix Cardio's Drills workout ~ 30min. I"m still not crazy aobut this one but liked it better the second try. I keep conparing it to her Plyo workout, which I love.

Nice going Peng, glad you are working out for the rest of us!

Looking forward to getting back into it tomorrow. Just found out I have to work in a most-hated department tomorrow so I will need to work out before going to work so I can at least be in a sort-of good mood! Bleeeech I hate hematology!

That's all for now. *breathe in, breathe out*

Oh! Just wanted to add that I had a great dinner last night after getting home from work, I was tired and didn't want to cook but decided I had enough energy to wash some lettuce. Had a huge salad with romaine, yellow bell peppers, red onions, avocado, some canned salmon (Wild Alaskan from Costco, VERY GOOD for canned!) chopped walnuts, and a little basalmic vinaigrette! Yummers!
