PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION: OCTOBER

I did a workout! I did Lauren's 1st Kettlebell Conditioning workout. I had a note on it that I didn't like it so this was my second time through, and I still don't like it. Also, there's no stretch, so I had to stretch out on my own, but half the time I do that anyway regardless of the workout. But at least I did something!:D

Thanks for the kind comments on my projects. I started another shawl, I wanted to try the pattern, so I don't have anyone in mind yet.

Stacy, April whines everytime we stick her in the car, whether we are going to the vet or the park, she loves riding in the car so we don't understand it, unless its a 'happy whine"? I have a crockpot but I don't use it often, because I end up sitting around the house smelling the good smells! Your recipe sounds good. We are having 'remade lefteovers' tonight; I made chicken rice soup Fridayand overestimated how much rice so it came out like oatmeal, so i thought I'd try to make rice cakes {think crab cakes} out of it. I saw something similar on a cooking show.
 
hey girls! oh. my. gosh. Stacy i have to say i was just cussing you a little...lol! Just did chest and triceps, using ONE FOURTH of Cathes weights! hardest I've ever worked laying down, using three pound weights! i am so going to feel this. those pushups at the beginning just killed me...

i can't write any more just now, gotta go rest for a while!
 
Hehe....I often curse while doing GS Chest and Triceps, but just think how strong you'll be getting once you can move your arms again, lol!

Peng...good job on getting a workout in, even if you didnt like it!
 
Well I need some help. I'm snacking on Cheetos when I need to get downstairs and do GS Legs! My feet are tired from being on them all day, doing some major cleaning. I think I just need to take a quick nap. And yes...my chest and triceps are sore, just starting to get that way in fact...yep, it's been about 24 hours!

Peng, love the sweet little dress and shrug. That must have been fun to make.

Stacy, I'm hoping that using 1/4 of Cathe's weights on legs won't be quite as quiver-inducing as yesterdays workout was. Those pushups just KILLED! I think they should be done at the end, myself!
 
I've got GS Chest & Triceps on tap for tonight. Last time I was able to use 20 lb dumbells for some of the chest presses, getting a bit stronger each time, but I still have to pause many times with the pushups and I'm only doing them on my knees. Just a thought....if you feel as if it's too much you could do the Timesaver premixes for GS's. There's half the pushups on the Timesaver. Because of my tweaky knees I started with ALOT less weight for legs than Cathe and I'm still nowhere near what she uses on barbell squats. I'm still skipping the leg presses because they still and probably always will bother my knees.
 
Yep, I think I'm going to start with the shortest Timesaver. I'm still fighting this cold a bit and I think that will be perfect. Headed downstairs RIGHT NOW!

Since Hubby cleaned out the office the other day I was able to get on the Dreadmill. I had the radio up pretty loud so that helped but its still just walkiing. Zzzz! I was able to do 30min at 3mph which is a personal best. Yes, I walk slowly! I also figured out that I can charge my cellphone from the computer. Look at the Penguin multi-task! I baked off my bread, I'm re-heating leftover pizza for dinner, after which I have to make a dessert for tomorrow. I opened my big mouth and volunteered to make something for our Luncheon.

I found a recipient for the new shawl I started, the mother of another woman at Bible study passed earlier this year, then her SIL passed this week. One of our other Leaders is very into which 'Seasons' people are and their 'colors' so she helps me out with matching shawls to people.

Andrea, oooo, Cheetoes! When I started with Cathe's they were recorded on VHS off FitTV and I was doing Slow and Heavy with 2's and 5's.:) I can only now begin to match Cathe's weight on her old workouts. You'll get there!

Stacy, I tend to skip pushups and do extra bench press.
 
okay! that was awesome and the perfect challenge for me today. pushed myself without pushing myself too far. Now...i must go vacuum, clean the bathroom sink, mirror, and floor, shower, and figure out what's for dinner. I'm thinking spaghetti and meat sauce cuz I'm just not feeling very adventurous tonight :)
 
ha ha Peng looks like we were posting at the same time. love it, look at the Penguin multi-task, cute! my mom is into the seasons thing too (that was so big in the 80s!) and she insists I'm a Winter like her but with my reddish hair, brown eyes, Rosy cheeks and freckles I sure think Autumn...

ya know i keep wanting to make another batch of those darn brown butter cookies that caused such a ruckus... :p
 
Andrea, glad the Timesaver worked out well for you!

Peng, with my short legs, 3.3-3.5 on the treadmill is a fast, brisk walk for me, anything above that I have to jog slowly or I'll fall off the back of the treadmill!

Dinner for me was....drum roll....greasy hamburger and fries!!!! Hubby HAD to say "hey let's go out for cheeseburgers"....and how could I possibly say no to that? I did, however, skip the cheese and the mayo and we split the fries and then still left some on the plate. Good thing I weighed myself this morning as I was down 0.8 lbs from Monday's post Sunday pig-out weigh in.

A few months back hubby and I came up with a weekly "plan'. One night per week for dinner would be salad night and another day during the week was Fruit & Veggie day, meaning anything goes that day but you could ONLY eat fruits or veggies, and the veggie did NOT include potatoes or corn. I lost 7 lbs eventually. So we're back to that this week, Monday was salads and tomorrow is Fruit & Veggie day. It's a bit easier to stick to that the day before our weekly pizza night ;)
 
one hour dog walk followed by Stretch Max :) Feeling really good, pretty sore but a very excellent sore!

thinking about what you said earlier Peng about getting to where I can lift the same as Cathe...hard to believe I can get there but I'm gonna give it a shot! Would love to be tiny and strong!

Stacy...I have a feeling we may be having burgers and fries tonight, so I'm eating as many veggies and fruits as I can for breakfast and lunch :)

Today was busy, but Bible study and luncheon went well. I came home and napped for a while then off to Knit Night. We had a new person join us, which was nice! I'm for bed!

Stacy, I was in a check-in wtth a woman who claimed she walked at 6mph so I always felt wimpy about my slow speed.

Andrea, I've tried 'doing' my own colors but get mixed results. I think I"m an autum but really don't look good in yellow, orange, rust or some reds, which leaves out a lot of the colors. I prefer jewel tones so just stick to colors I like in that range.
 
This is the day I get to sleep late but here I am wide awake! I have laundry, exercise, April’s Spa Day, and knitting planned for today.
 
I did 30min on the treadmill today while listening to a knitting podcast, but did do everything on my list. I think I'll throw together a veggie soup for dinner.
