Progress not Perfection- Mighty in May

Stacy, I was wondering if you've been making any soup?

Based on a thread in OD followed by researching a thread on VF, I've purchased x-Factor ST Weider. Body wt workouts that have been referred to as "Insanity Lite". I'll let ya know.

Dance class today. I'd like to do Thriller with a group. Thrill The World

Actually I havent made any soup for awhile. Mostly b/c I've been too busy and we had been remodeling the kitchen. I was thinking about making some homemade clam chowder this weekend for my mother for Mother's Day though, it's her favorite.

Stacy, that would be sweet. You guys getting together? How was fruit and veggie Thurs?
Deanna, did you make it back to the gym?
If this X-Factor is Insanity Lite, I don't know if I'd be ready to meet Insanity anytime soon. It was a good workout. 30 min, all body weight exercise.
Anyone else checking out the new Zuzana workouts? Most of them look really hard but I think I like Zuz over Body rock. If I ever get in a serious steady groove, I will add some in.
Waves to all. Don't forget to eat some plants!

^^ I wrote that this morn but had trouble with website. I must have walked for hours today at Ikea and then Sawgrass (huge mall).
Thanks for the Mom's day wishes. What do you have planned? We might catch movie - Avengers- but prefer weekday if possible.

Happy Saturday! I got up early to get in a workout before I head out of town to see mom. I opted for Premix #5 from LIS LIC Step. The premix was the warmup, the blasts and then the 21 min step circuit bonus and then the cool down (41 min). I had to pause to catch my breath a few times not sure if it was b/c it was that tough or I'm that out of shape!! What I enjoyed about it was there was essentially no choreography and Cathe only used light dumbells twice (which you could essentlally not use at all) so I was really a pure cardio workout with lower body emphasis which is what I need. I also dont like to think about choreography so early in the morning!

I havent been checking out Zuzana's stuff recently but I too plan on adding those or some of the CrossFit cardios when I'm in a bit better shape.

Veggie Thursday went pretty well, I had celery and carrots for lunch and then onion, mushroom and asparagus stirfry (with added chicken breast) for dinner. Yesterday was Pizza Friday (guess that "balances" Thursday??)

Cant remember if I've posted this before, but here is a link to the details of all of Cathe's LIS workouts and premixes....

Team vf- help with cathe lis premixes please - Video Fitness Forum

Happy Mother's Day!

I did the x-factor again this morn.

Off to get tires on the van and then home to babysit. Good thing I don't really care that much about holidays or i'd be pouting right now! I did spend yesterday with my mom while kids worked at theater for community service. I miss my dog.

Stacy, safe travels today - I hope visit goes well! Thanks for the VF link, too.

Deanna, I was thinking about your FB eyecandies. So...who is more attractive to you? tall dark and menacing and probably emotionally unavailable? Or sexy good natured guy who'd probably help you fix dinner? : )

5K run to pick up my mini van this morning (new tires).

I had a nice date last night. : )

Deanna, are you headed back to gym this week?

Stacy, what is on tap? Eventually I will get to know STS well enough to pick and choose certain workouts. How do you choose an individual sts? Based on cycle? Inclusion in other rotations?

Michelle, are you working on your workout groove? It's a new day/new week!

How about some veggies? I've had spinach strawberry mango pineapple smoothie earlier. I need some salad greens for later.

Toni, are you out there?

work work, y'all!

Good afternoon! I had Afterburn on tap for when I got home from work, but I'm dragging my feet. I havent done this one before and I've hurt it's tough so I'm getting cold feet. I did Disc 18 from STS M2 yesterday which was Back and Biceps and my lower back is pretty sore as are my biceps, so thought of mountain climbers and squat thrusts which I know are in Afterburn dont sound too appealing. I'm going to eat a light dinner, veg out for a bit and see what workout strikes me later. If nothing does, I wont beat myself up over taking a rest day.

FnV...I dont pick the STS workout, I'm following (with modifications) Cathe's January Doubles Rotation so Cathe picks it for me! ;) I do have the book that came with STS so I can see which exercises are on each disc.

Dinner tonight is a caesar salad and shrimp/crab dip with raw veggies and bagel crisps with the plan being to dip more veggies than bagel crisps ;)

I'll report back if I've got something to report!

Deanna...how are you doing? Anything new on the horizon? I bought a book called "Running: Getting Started" by Jeff Galloway who writes alot of articles in running magazines. I'd love to be a runner, but we'll see if my knee thinks otherwise.

2 mile power walk on the treadmill, kinda pathetic. Dont ask me how I walked 13 miles a little over a week ago!

hahaha Stacy, maybe you are still recovering from the walk. I wandered around IKEA and then a mall the other day for nearly 4 hours while waiting for my kids. I was wiped out!

Deanna, how's your work week going?

I'm missing my xfactor workout today (probably no time) but I'm sad about it. Maybe I will power walk at mall and track my distance. (waiting for kids again)

Oh and yes, Stacy, i understand about the STS choice now. I guess I didn't stick w/ that rotation long enough and when I did do it, I often subbed a shorter upper bod.

Take care!

I did Afterburn today for the first time! It was good and I'm sweaty!! I dont have discs so modified a few moves but still a great workout! I had to skip a few of those spiderman-planks moves. They bother my wrists after awhile.

Tomorrow is a rest day, thank goodness, my body needs it!

That is awesome, Stacy! Love it.

I did the X Factor week one again - third time, on to week two next but I'll do some sort of cardio tomorrow-tbd

Well, cardio today was just dance class plus I guess I can count 3 hours of working in natural area, picking up trash and hauling heavy bags around. I wanted to do a Cathe step, too or something shortish, but oh well, I'm done for today.

I saw a huge double rainbow this afternoon : )

I'm looking forward to some better eating this weekend-->next week.

How's it going, ladies?

Lower body was still sore so I did KCM's Split Sessions upper body. Aiming for some healthier eating if not, at least some portion control! I'm working all weekend and then have a bday party to go to, so not sure if I"ll have time to squeeze in a workout or not.

Morning Ladies,

Don't think I have forgotten about my virtual workout buddies. :) I have been busy with work and going to the Gym. Monday was Core & Cardio, Tuesday Cardio and MRT, Off Wednesday and Thursday was Cardio and MRT. Nothing again until Monday, unless I feel good enough to get up and go for a walk over the weekend.

Deanna

Hi Deanna, glad to hear from you! Stacy, i was at KCM website today. She's a favorite of many.
I did the next disc in XFactor (week 2). I'm likin' it. I'll have to do some cathe cardio on the in between days.

Hi Deanna, looks like you've had a busy week!

FnV...how is the impact of the X-series? My knees cant take jumping jacks in particular! Do you have any KCM workouts? I have many of them, with only a few I dont click with. I really like her style.

There are jumping jacks (30 sec) in the warm up and the same w/u is used thru out the whole series.
The users on the thread on VF seemed to feel it wasn't too much impact or easily modified impact but I'm not so sure. I would say there is a moderate sprinkling of lunges, and jumps, maybe two per workout which are then repeated.
I've not been bothered so far, but I am not exactly sure what it is that triggers my knee issues. I think it is twisting. But then sometimes I think it is deep squats.

My cardio today was the step only premix of imax 3. Mild cardio w/ but an opportunity to learn the choreo to the step part of the workout.

Deanna, are you going to walk today?

I have a busy weekend but just finished a quick a 30 min workout on the treadmill. 1 minute jog/2 min walk. I upped my speed a bit and tried to lengthen my stride a little.

I sold Imax3 b/c I remember it being too tough on my knees. I did keep Cardio Fusion which pretty much contains IMax3 in its entirety amongst the premixes.

There's a walk for breast cancer going on today. I may start looking for some 10K walks and work on my speed and possibly start doing them walk/jog style. My half marathon mile walking days are over.

Have a good weekend!!
