Problems with deadlifts

My hamstrings have been so tight and when I do the STS deadlifts, now in meso 2, week 4, it does not feel good. I am afraid of pulling my hamstrings. Should I just skip the deadlifts or substitute something else.

I have been doing alot of high impact cardio, like sprints and HIIT. I wonder if that is really working my hamstrings enough.

Thanks for any help. I hate to skip an exercise and not do STS to the full extent.

I have two options:

1) Have you tried bending your knees slightly and just not going down as far? About to your knees only?

2) Switch deadlifts to a floor exercise. There's a great one on B&G where you lie on your back on the floor with your heels on a stability ball, raise your hips and draw your feet towards your butt. These are awesome for the hamstrings (and glutes).

Also, are you doing extra stretching for your hamstrings? I have tight hams and I have to do significant stretching for them. I get my DH to help me with assisted stretching which really gets a deeper stretch through them.

HTH!
