Problems w/Body Blast DVDs. Please help!

Hi Cathe! I just got my Body Blast DVDs in the mail today! And although I am thrilled as they look soooooo awesome I am also bummed out as 2 of them are not functioning properly.

First, the Kick, punch & Crunch/legs & glutes DVD does not work at all. The intro starts but then the menu never comes up, it just freezes. I tried restarting it multiple times, wiping off the new DVD and nothing fixes it! I am so bummed as this is the Legs & Glutes is the #1 video I was looking forward to doing to get rid of this baby butt!

Second, the Superset & Push/Pull video will not let me play any of the mix/match sections at all. It locks up/freezes and I have to remove and restart the DVD to get it to work again.

Wondering if this has happened to anyone else. And if so, do you have any tips on how to make it work?

I have ALL of your DVDs and have NEVER had a problem so I have a hard time believing it is my DVD player? I put a call and e-mail into the customer service dept and sure hope I get a replacement soon. Also, I sent an e-mail and left a message on a different question the other day and never heard back. I am hoping I get a response this time as I really want to use these new DVDs :)

I thank you in advance for any advice you can give!!!

p.s. Cathe - once again you amaze me! These look like some AWESOME videos and I can't wait to try one out first thing in the morning!

Here is a response from SNM from another thread on this topic:

"A little DVD lecture here:

Every DVD made is slightly different. All of your other DVDs may play fine, but you still may have problems playing any one particular disc. As an example of this - when we were authoring the and testing the Body Blast series I could not get one premix to play on my DVD player I was testing on. All of the other Premixes worked fine, but this one premix would not play on my player I was using to test. We spent several days examining and redoing the DVD, but could not find any problems. Finally, I took the test DVD and tested on every player at the electronics store . In every case the premix I couldn’t play on my player worked fine on every player at the store. Thus, the problem was not the disc, but something in the firmware of the player. I can’t emphasize enough that the only way to know for sure that the problem is the disc or the player is to test on another player (you should not test on a computer in less you have no other choice as most use software to play and other factors could come into play).

We will always ask you two questions when you have a problem with a disc: #1 Please try cleaning the disc with tap water and mild soap (this solves about 20 % of the problems) and #2 Try playing the disc on another player (we have found over the years that over half of all reported problems are the result of something wrong with the firmware of the player). Please never skip this step as a replacement disc will not work if the problem is player related.
The chances of receiving 2 defective videos ( not related to shipping damage)are very remote. If this does happen we will always ask you to return the DVD to us so we can examine it. We always provide a self stamped and addressed envelope so this does not cost any money to do."

Hope that helps a little!

Thanks Wendy. I tried lastnight to play it on 2 of my neighbors DVD players and the Legs/Glute DVD freezes on both of their DVD players too?

When Cathe says "something wrong with the firmware of the player"... how do you fix it anyway? This just seems really odd as we have TONS of DVDs here at home and never have problems with ANY of them. I am sure hoping that I don't end up out of luck and not able to use the Legs/Glutes DVD ;(

Do you know if she has posted any firmware/dvd player requirements? Seems like her new technology may require something most other DVDs don't require? Just seems a bit odd to me? I would rather go without the fancy stuff and just have a DVD that works!

Thanks for you info:) HOpefully I will hear from Cathe also.

Sounds to me like you do have a defective DVD. You have done the steps required, so now return it to them for a replacement. I have a standard, non-expensive DVD player and have no problems with the Blast DVDs, so hopefully a replacement will play for you.
