Pregnancy checking for week of Dec 22.

Its been constant more or less so i'm a little concerned about it. i keep hoping it will just go away.

About the boy names, its funny becuase now that im havin a girl im rattling off a ton of boy names. The boy names I do like are Aidan (which is also popular all of a sudden), Tristan, Jackson, Josiah, Noah, Isaiah, Ethan, Elijah Avery and Liam. There are a couple more i had in mind too but cant recall them at the moment :) I like some of the biblical names

My coworker mentioned that Sarah, from the bible used to be Sarai or something similiar before it changed to Sarah. Sarai (i think her friend pronounced it as Sa-ray) is a pretty name, very different.

Ava was the name i originally liked but tehre are too many AVa's now. I know of 3 and counting that were recently born so im taking that as a sign of its growing popularity.

My husband mentioned the name Olivia. He really likes that but i dont want to pick olivia haha.

He said what about Neve. Neve is pretty and i think its Irish but i dont know if i want to name my baby neve. I thought SImone was pretty but i dont think it has the IT factor :)

I really like the name Ilaria, which means CHeerful in Italian, and i dnt know how my hubby feels about it. Ilaria Mae has a nice ring to it dont you think? A lot of my friends at work, love the name Marlo still haha. They are upset my DH changed his mind lol

Oh speaking of freinds at work, i just found out they are thorwing me a SUPRISE shower in late January. My church wants to give me one mid jan so i sent an email asking for addys so the church can send invites and then the party planner at work got upset and spilled the beans that she had this whole big shower planned! She totally could have kept it a suprise still and I would have been none the wiser. So it looks like i'm getting 2 more showers in January! Yay.

Oh, that same person planning it brought her son in to my job yesterday, he was born in may. His name is Landon, which i thought was different and he is ADORABLE! :)

Oh, and merry christmas back to you and everyone to follow. Santa was good. My mom bought me two pairs of slippers and this cute nursing pj set. I tried it on and its a little on the tight side now, but its not maternity. She got me a size small bless her heart haha. I hope i can fit into it after I give birth. She also got me a cute ultrasound photo frame. And Desperate Housewvies Season 4

AND...

All 3 workouts that just came out - Powerstrike 5, Bodystirkes, and PUshups and Abs. I was so excited. I asked for them and was expecting them but still...I might try the powerstrike one tonite when DH leaves for work (im bummed he is leaving me again :( )

My husband did a good job too he got me some perfume that smells delicious, some candle things from Yankee Candle (i love candles) and THAT GIRL SEASON 4. YES!!! I was excited. It was a good xmas. Even my doggie got some goodies from Santa.

And lunch was pretty good too. Im pretty full still....buuurrrpp...

Well you like some names I like. I already have a Seth and Noah (bible names) and Liam is the maybe name I LOVE. So far we have Liam Matthew or vise versa. I'm totally digging it but dh is so-so on it. I'm crossing my fingers. sigh! I prefer Liam as his first name but DH prefers Matthew. I can't think of ONE name I like other than that. DH already rejected the other bible names you mentioned. I liked Elijah. oh well. Aidens been popular for a while. When I had Noah every other baby on the expecting forum was an Aiden.

I like Ilaria Mae. different but pretty. So Yay for 2 babyshowers ;) Hope you get some good stuff!

Hope you like the new workouts. I've never tried a powerstrike. I love kickboxing though. The instructor kinda scares me lol. tell me how the new one is when you try it.
 
Jen -oh and my little baby nephew is Ethan. He was just here this weekend. He's 3 mo old. It felt so weird holding a baby even though I've had two. You just forget how small they are! lol.

Is anyone else having their hips get a bit sore/uncomfy at night? I just can't seem to get comfortable. I do have a body pillow but I think I need a more poofy one or something. This one isn't cutting it anymore! sigh.
 
Good afternoon ladies

Well, i never did get to working out last nite. I plopped on the couch after DH went to work and fell asleep for about an hour. I kept saying ok in ten mins i'll go workout but then i got caught up in some show on tv and did not move my butt the rest of the nite

so this morning i did Powerstrike 5 and also BodyStrikes. Jess you asked for my impression of the workout - do not be intimidated. THe instructor has great form and great cueing. Some of the combos come at you fast at first but they are not to hard to pick up. ANd the workout went by quickly. I was sweaty at the end and it got my heart rate up. It was not killer but being 7 months pregnant it was challenging Plus it did nt have any high impact so my joints and sore body thanked me for that.

I just got back from my 32 week appointment. The midwife i saw today said i'm swelling too much too soon but my BP has been fine. I f i get headahces or chest pain, see spots, or feel the baby move less or my bp goes up im supposed to let them know

i told her my right hand and fingers feel numb/tingy or burning and she said its probably carpal tunnel due to fluid compressing my nerves :( I guess its something im stuck with! Its been a week straight and its really not comfortable at all. Has anyoe else had this?? How do i relieve it??? Nothing seems to help. Of course beng at the computer doesnt help either.

Well DH went to the gym, he got home at 6am today after another busy nite. guess i can start taking down some decorations!

Oh i found a site that has a TON Of baby names so im jotting down ones i might like. In addition to others i have in mind. So far I like Marlo, Ilaria, Ava, Eva, Eliana, Aila, Neve, and Karina. But i dont know if my hubby wil like those or not. I'm on to the letter N , takes forever to look at all of them!
 
Jen - Oh yeah I remember I had carpel tunnel with Noah.... :( sorry. It's been about 6 years since I was preggo last so I forgot. yeah typing doesn't help. I've been an internet addict since before then too though. My SIL had that with baby Ethan also. I think its common during pregnancy.

Are they checking your urine for protein also? that was something they did with me constantly.. that and BP. I hope it doesn't end up being preeclampsia.
 
Hello! Sounds like everyone had a nice Christmas week. It was so much fun watching DS open presents. It takes him a while to realize it's Christmas morning which is funny. He woke up that morning and was concerned about a stuffed bear that had a string come undone. Slowly it dawned on him (must have been the giggling DH and I were doing) and then he was nonstop for the rest of the day. I have a pic of me and my big belly to put on here, but I'm not sure how to post one. Is it hard?

Jen, that's awesome you're getting 2 more showers!! Bummer that your DH doesn't think the name Marlo has the 'it' factor. That name is fabulous! Easy to pronounce, easy to spell, not too common.

Jess, I have sore/stiff hips at night too. I was blaming our crummy (yet fairly new, but cheap) mattress. I've mostly been sleeping on the couch which is nice and soft for the past month or so. Sad thing is I think I'm making the middle cushion (where my butt and belly go) start to sink. Does not do good things for my ego....LOL

Skyy, hope you had a Merry Christmas too! Our due dates are about the same and I think I've already gained 23 lbs. If I follow the "1 lb per week", I'll have gained 32 lbs by delivery. And gauging from the treats/junk I've eaten the past week, I'll definitely blow by that. If I haven't already, my MIL made a comment Christmas Day that I was getting chubby.....sigh.

good afternoon everyone. i hope you are all having a nice saturday
i woke up in a great mood - its beautiful out and sunny and not too hot. HOwever, upon opening the mail, it quickly soured. I just found out that our mortgage payment is aout to go up by $750 A MONTH!! WE can barely afford it now. Has something to do with stupid escrows and ours being underfunded. I guess when we bought the taxes were on a vacant lot and now there is a house here. Sigh..i dont know what we will do. We can barely make ends meet now. Can you imagine having to come up wiht an extra 750 on top of that every month :( I've been upset and shed a few tears. Its a lot of stress and plus having a baby and worrying about her and what will happen to the three of us is just too much lately.

so my day has been rpetty sucky as i try to figure out how we are even going to manage.
my husband and i went grocery shopping and tried to buy as little as possible. he's having hot dogs for dinner tonite :( and i dont really have anything on the menu for me. whatever i can pick at i guess. i've never been this bad off before, and hpefully it will get better.

i dont mean to talk about money woes, i know the whole country is suffering right now. this is just sooo unexpected and the price hike is drastic. ITs not like we have an ARM mortgage - its a 30 year FIXED rate, so i really was not expectiny any of this.

ABout the name, thanks for saying you like Marlo. DH Likes it but doesnt love it. I made a small list last nite and here is what we have

My DH hates Ilaria. He likes Karina. He suggested Anika and Zara. He really likes Zara, but i dont really know how i feel about it. He said Ilaria doesnt mean anything - i said yes it means "Cheerful" and then i said back to him well what the HECK does Zara mean?? haha. I guess its a pretty name. I just want it picked out and this is so hard for me. We cant seem to agree on anything. He keeps saying Olivia but knows I dont want her name to be Olivia.

Jess - coud you do anything for the carpal tunnel? I was not expecting this either but its becoming downright painful. Ive had it over a week straight. MY whole arm felt like it was asleep early and i have this painful numbness in my three fingers on my right hand. What can i do for relief???

And yes, they are checking my urine every visit and its fine. and my BP is great too. She said i have been swelling too early on and to keep an eye out for other symproms but so far nothign to worry about. They said i'll get one more ultrasound sometime between now and Feb (yay!) to make sure im not growing a "Giant" haha


Tana - too cute about your son forgetting it was christmas. Dont pay any mind to your MIL's comments. Maybe she did not mean it in a bad way. I once had a coworker sing "jennifers getting faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-at" and it stung and hurt so bad (i had eating issues before) and it totally ruined my day. I know she didnt mean it how i felt it was said, as she always says i dont look like ive gained 30 pounds and im all belly and my face / arms etc arent fat, but still. It realyl stinks to hear that

and i hear you on the holiday junk - i've really blown it the past couple weeks too :( Im already 32 weeks and i've already gained 30 pounds. I have 8 weeks to go, so by the time the baby arrives i'll probably have packed on 40 pounds. I dont get it tho becuase i work out often and at high intesnity and aside from the holiday weeks, my eating is realy not that bad at all! Oh well...it could be swelling or just how its meant to be i guess.

i did not work out today, my day got ruined and ive been moping around. DH Just fell asleep so im upset about that too. I never see the man! haha. im a little bitchy today ig uess. So i just brewed some coffee (at 5pm) haha.

I guess later i'll prepare his gourmet meal of hot dogs and fries! And we rented two movies from redbox (only $1!) and they are that one with eddie murphy having people in his head (forget the name) and Burn Before Reading with Brad Pitt. Not sure if they will suck or not.

I wanted to paint the nursery but i guess i have to put my nursery plans on hold since i dont know what our fate wiill be with this house...

I hope you all are having a better day than i am! Sorry for the long post and all my whining :) Guess i wanted to vent
 
Tana - sounds cute about your son ;) ours go to bed thinking about it and can hardly sleep. they pop outta bed in the morning. ha.

I'm thinking about trying one of those maternity pillows for sleeping? not sure its worth it or not. I have a body pillow but it seems so flat anymore lol. I need something big soft and poofy.

For Carpel.. I don't think anything can be done but to tuff it out. Mine got very painful in the wrist area on top of weird numb feelings.

Along the lines of the names you gave I like Nadia and Katia also. (they have a similar feel to some you listed) I know someone named Nadia and its such a cute name. I actually like Zara but it is a bit different. There was a girl in Seths kindergarten class named that and she was a doll. I like Karina too.
 
Hi Tana! Your son sounds adorable. I did have a Merry Christmas. I pretty much spent the day with Hubby and step-kids. My kids went to visit their dad this year. I noticed that we were due within a day of each other. How are you feeling? This past week has been a little hard on me. Each day I feel bigger and bigger. If it is possible to put on 10 pounds in 5 days, I think that I have done it. We’ll know in two days at my next appointment.

Jen, I don’t know what to say about your house. I would be outraged too. Could you refinance? Hang in there.

hi everybody, happy sunday :)
how is everyone doing today? Im still pretty swollen and still have no feeling in my right hand. i think its that pregnancy induced carpal tunnel. i wish i could find some relief, nothing seems to help.

i stayed up late last nite. we watchd some that girl epsidoes after dinner (love it!) and then we watched Meet Dave with Eddie Murphy which was actually pretty funny - better than i expected it to be. Then we watched Burn After Reading, which was very bizarre and different but not awful :)

We went to church today and after that I did Drill Max , the entire workout. Then i did Abs and Pushups Plus. I could not do all of the exercises but modified and did my best. I was tired after Drillmax. Working out makes my swelling in my feet go away. I thought it might help my hand too but it did not. I think it may have made it worse actually :( Puhsups did not help. Maybe im just stuck with this condition until after baby arrives.

Still no luck on the name front. My hubby is such a flip flopper! But i still love him :) I know we will find a name eventually...i hope...

Tomororw is going to STINK. Im being moved back tot hat crazy location and really not looking forward to it. I have a feeling i will be stuck there til i give birth. Its very hectic and high stress and i just feel totally beat after my 10.5 hours there. I would much rather stay in my old spot :( :(

About the house i dont think refinancing is an option. We have only been here for a year. We went two weeks ago to see if we could qualify for a loan readjustment. I dont know how long that will take. But this ne wnews might work in our favor. Either that or we have to try to get our mortgage co. to work with us. If neither work, then i guess i see another foreclosure in myfuture, which means both our credit will now be ruined. I dont think we will ever be able to get another home in the future. Its just so sad and frustrating becuase i've had such good credit my whole life, i pay all my bills in full and on time, if not early and now i look like a deadbeat! We also lost all the money i had with our first home (That foreclosed) and we had to use our retirment money as a downpayment for them to build here in Florida. If we had waited, things would have been SO different. But we didnt, and it is what it is. I just cant beleive how much i have lost after working so hard...makes em want to cry so im going to change the subject!

I have to make my spaghetti sauce now. we are having a simple, cheap dinner of spaghetti and meatsauce with salad.

the weekends go by way too quickly!

I really hope the loan readjustment goes thru for you! let us know. I'm a bit nervous cause when we moved to the location were at now Dh had 1 day to pick a house. So we got one that is fine and in a decent neighborhood but I'd say half the neighborhood is for sale or rent and not moving AT ALL. some have been empty since we moved here about 2 years ago. I just worry cause DH is military and we could have to move.. what if we can't sell or rent it out. we'll have to eat it I guess. not to make it seem like your problems aren't more serious these are just "what ifs" we worry about sometimes. Sorry to hear its stressing you so much.

With your job- Can you complain about moving to that stressful environment while expecting?? :(

Oh I just got my collagevideo magazine and saw that abs/pushup dvd. I was wondering though. I haven't worked out but sporadically so far but what do you do when they have you on your back? do you just incline a bit? like for chestwork/abs etc?

Sorry about the carpel tunnel. I hope I don't get it again this time. With swelling I had the opposite though if I tried to workout when preggo with preeclampsia the swelling would like double in 10 minutes. You could push your finger in my leg and the impression would stay for a few minutes. it hurt too! so if the swelling goes down instead of up I'd say that's a good sign its just normal swelling.. plus that so far the drs say you don't have any other symptoms.

I'm just dealing with almost constant acid reflux. Driving me insane! if I even drink a glass of water its there. I'm afraid I'll become a tums addict. anyone know if its ok to eat those on a daily basis? I'm also achy all over for some reason. I get SO uncomfy at night its rediculous. I'm going to try putting a thick soft blanket underneath me tonight. I already have an egg foam thing on there. my hips are always feeling a tad sore like they are all loosening up I guess. I dunno. ha. well there is my wine for today ;)

jen -we have a simple dinner of spaghetti/salad often. sometimes the simple things are the best anyway ;) We also love Vigo brand red beans and rice. mmmmm. so simple but filling and good. Dh likes lemon and hot sauce in his but I love it the way it is. full of flavor. another inexpensive meal we like is beans/cornbread. I make the beans in the crockpot and just some jiffy cornbread.

hi jess. i will keep you posted on the housing situation. its just stresful not knowing our future. i certainly did not expect this hike, and its not a small one either! We simply cannot afford to pay that much. that is almost my entire months salary. sigh...
with your situation, did u not have base housing available to you? stinks you were forced to pick a house. you can always shortsale and hope the lender agrees to sell at less than what you owe. that is a little better than an all out foreclosure. my dad does short sales all the time. unforutnatley it did not work out for us in VA and we had to foreclose. so many people are in this mess, its so unforunate. I just dont like the feeling of not knowing. AT least with the first house mess i KNEW i was going to let it go and just move to Florida, but now, this is just completley different!
We have decided not to paint the nursery inc ase we beome homeless in the near future. I am so afraid that i wont be able to provide for this baby and it scares me. so many unforseen things have happened lately. When it rains it pours!

i suppose if i got a dr's note i can change positions. but its now for light duty people instead of higher officials and the only light duty people are pregnant! One girl was supposed to be there but she got frequent headaches and the doctor wrote her a note so she got out and i think im the lucky one who replaced her.

as far as lying on your back. i still do that. i havent felt what they said you would feel if you lie on your back. i dont know if that is good or bad. i jsut listen to my body. i know for things like chest presses you can go on an inclie or use a stablitiy ball. i still do some situps actuaclly, ut of course not like how i used to do them of course!

i dont have an answer for the tums question, sorry :( Maybe you could ask your dr at the next appointment.
 
Jen - yeah I still lay on my back sometimes and feel fine. I read as long as you feel ok its probably ok but I was worried about working out since you are exerting yourself so much. I'll see how I feel I guess and try to use an incline when appropriate.

The last move was rather fast and complicated so we didn't have time to get on a list for housing. the rent around here is as much as a house payment so DH wanted to just get a house. we've had some crappy landlords before also.. but now I sorta wish we had rented. Oh well. So far we're fine. I don't think were moving soon. I hadn't heard of what you mentioned about selling. your right in the long run it'd probably hurt less than letting the house sit.
Well again I hope things workout for your house. If things get really bad you can always stay in my spare room- soon to be nursery for a bit if you needed to. seriously.
 
aw jess that is so sweet of you to offer up your nursery as a spare room :) haha. thank you. hopefully it wot come to that. i do not know anyoen in florida, except my father. i guess we have to wait and see what happens.

where do you live again by the way? Im sure you've said it a thousand times but my memory really really stinks! sorry :)

we just finished dinner and now im stuffed. uuuuurrrrrrrpppp :)
