Pregnancy Check-in Week of 2/22

Hello Ladies,
Last week I failed miserably with workouts. I'm posting to fess up that I was a bit on the lazy side last week and have no workouts to post this week!

The guilt of not accomplishing one workout is starting to sink in! ;) I walked 3 days during the week (shopping trips) - does that count. ;)

This week is going to be better....it has to be because I can't do any worse! ;)

Hope everyone had a better week than me. :)

Looking forward to hearing from everyone!

I have a belly!! :) I'm excited to finally prove to people that I am pregnant! During the last two weeks, or so, I had a big growth spurt. My husband has been taking monthly pictures of the belly for the baby scrapbook and the growth from 4 months to 5 months was crazy!

Congratulations on your "belly" Christy! Is this your first? Did you feel like you had a belly in the evening after dinner? I can still fit my jeans and everything, but after dinner, I just feel like my stomach is sticking out there. By morning it's back to normal...well, almost normal.

Yay! I finally got to workout again this past week after taking a couple of weeks off for morning sickness. Although I'm still not 100%, it felt great to workout again. Well...maybe not great. I've had to force myself, but once I actually get started, I feel pretty good. My week was still a little pathetic, but I just want to ease back into things.

Sunday: Off
Monday: Supersets (does anyone else think this tape is super easy?)
Tuesday: All Step (no weight portion)
Wednesday: Off
Thursday: Step & Intervals (no weight portion)
Friday: Leaner Legs (felt great to do this tape again. I'd been doing Legs & Glutes)
Saturday: Off

I just find it so hard to get motivated to do ANYTHING other than sit on the couch. I felt fine yesterday, but I didn't workout. I didn't even get my office work done that would have taken me less than an hour if I could have just found the motivation to do it. I hope this feeling goes away here pretty soon. March is a super busy month for my business, so I won't be able to be lazy this month.

Hi Stacey,
Yep, this is baby #1. Everything is very new to me and I find myself surprised at how much I am enjoying this. You think I was the first woman to be pregnant some times! The belly is around morning, noon and night. Like you, I do think my belly is much larger in the evenings after dinner. I feel like I could explode at times! I can't fit into my jeans anymore except with the help of a large rubber band. I'm currently 23 weeks along.

Keep up the good work with your workouts! Seriously, you really are doing great! I could not even manage one workout during the week let alone 4 when I was as far as you! Just keep plugging away and take it day by day. Not sure if this will help, but, I find it motivating to write a list of goals for the day and then check them off one by one - workouts are included in the list. It keeps "my eye on the ball" :) If I can't manage a workout one day, I don't stress over it - I just try to do better the next day.

Best of luck!

Hi ladies -
Christy - how exciting to be showing. I feel like I've been showing since the 2nd month because I've been so bloated! But during my last check-up a week and a half ago the dr said I was officially showing. I had to ask, that's how constantly bloated I've been!

Stacey - the morning sickness thing has a lot to do with the motivation. When I had it I also had to force myself to workout and it usually made me feel better. I need to try LL again. I've put heavy leg work off since early in the first trimester because my legs were lead but you and the others who have done L&G and LL are motivating me to try again. And, yes, I agree Supersets is easier than some of Cathe's other total body workout.

My week started off with low energy and a couple of older videos that I'm glad I haven't gotten rid of yet because I might not have done anything those days! But by week's end my energy felt great again.

Sun 2/22: Great Buns/Thighs (This was all I could handle!)
Mon 2/23: Cardio Kicks
Tue 2/24: Aerostep (again, a real low energy day!!)
Wed 2/25: Off
Thu 2/26: Supersets
Fri 2/27: Circuit Max
Sat 2/28: Off

This was the first week I've done five workouts since early in the first tri, even though two were pretty tame! I hope it lasts. Have a great week, everyone.

I'm glad you are enjoying being pregnant. I'm sure I enjoyed being pregnant with my first one, and even my second, but I worked SO hard to stay in shape and to not overeat, etc., that it was very hard. I'm also just not used to having a reduced enery level. I'm the kind of person that schedules way too much in a day, and usually, somehow finds time to get all that, plus more done. I just remember being more emotional, and so demotivated to do anything that it's really difficult to be pregnant this 3rd time, especially since it wasn't planned. The workouts help SO much though. I'm glad that I've been able to put those back in.

I didn't workout with my first two in the 1st trimester as I had WAY worse a.m. sickness that lasted til 18 weeks. That was when I started working out again. I'm glad that it's different with this one.

Sounds like you have a great attitude about the working out, and accomplishing other things, etc. I really just try to listen to my body more than anything.

Take care,
Stacey

Diana:

I know my problem with motivation 2 weeks ago was morning sickness, but I felt pretty great all last week, and still couldn't get motivated over the weekend to do ANYTHING. I think it's having a different routine with hubby being home, etc. Anyway, hopefully it gets better in the 2nd trimester because I feel lazy and worthless on the couch all weekend, but it is fun!

I didn't really lift too much later in the my first two pregnancies. I hadn't even found Cathe when pg with my son, and when I was pg with my daughter, I was pretty new to weights (it was before LL) and so I took it really easy with PS Legs, stopping the weights around 20 weeks or so. I noticed a much weaker perineum with my 2nd pg. I could hardly lift my son at times without falling to my knees. As I am much more regular with weight training at this point, I'll play it be ear, listening to my body, and make necessary modifications as necessary. I was only using 25 lbs on Friday and may stay at that weight thru-out. I may also switch to hand weights as I get further along.

Be sure you don't do any exercises with weights that cause you to bear down as that is dangerous as you get further along. Plie squats, etc. Any questions, ask your doctor and/or Cathe.

Hi girls! You are all doing so well! As far as workouts go, last week wasn't so great. My mom came into town and we got the baby room done, though! I am just so relieved about that, that missing workouts didn't get me too upset! Unfortunately, my back is just getting worse and worse. I have a pre-existing injury, but it didn't get this bad when I was pregnant with my son. I hate to sound negative, sometimes it just feels good to get it off my chest. ;) Right now, I can only fantasize about doing the workouts that you girls are, but here was my week:
Sun: Step Blast
Mon: Firm parts-Upper body
Tues: SJP - step only
Wed,Th, & Fri: off - working on baby's room :)
Sat: C&W-cardio only
Have a great week girls!!! And keep up the awesome work!!!! :D
