Sara,
Are you out there? It's been awhile since you've checked in...Hope you are doing good. Just a few more weeks to go! Hope to hear from you soon!

Greetings ladies! I hope you all had a great week. Christy, your workouts look great! It is okay to take it "easy" when you need it... isn't it funny what we consider easy? :) You know the saying... "listen to your body".

Sunday: Off
Monday: Step Jam
Tuesday: PH + Prenatal Pilates
Wednesday: Step Heat
Thursday: PH + Urban Rebounding
Friday: Off
Saturday: Walking (hills) + PH

I would really like to use the Prenatal Yoga tape I have, I just can't seem to find the opportunity. I can't Yoga when Sydney is with me... she is climbing all over me. :) She worked out with me using her 1 # dumbbells last week... I wish my hubby had been home to take her picture. She is too cute for words!!

Have a good one!

Hi everyone. Hope you all had a good week. My workout week wasn't so good, but I was still recuperating from my cold. And my son was on spring break last week, so I was busy taking the kids to the museum, etc. My sister was on vacation and came over 3 of the 5 days. It was nice to visit with her, but I was so longing for days of doing my own thing. And my step-daughter came over on Wed and stayed till Sunday. Those types of things always through my schedule off.

I am feeling nauseous again--not to the point where I am throwing up, or feel as if I would, but just enough that I don't want to do anything but sit. I don't even really want to eat. Nothing sounds good. I weighed myself this a.m. and it seems like I may have lost a few pounds, but my scale is really in need of replacing, so I don't know. I guess I'll find out when I go to the dr for my 20 week check-in next week. The scale today was reading as if I've only gained 5-6 lbs since becoming pregnant. I would guess it to be closer to 10 lbs.

Sunday: Off
Monday: All Step Shoulders
Tuesday: Off
Wednesday: Walk & 2nd section of Power Max, Triceps
Thursday: Off
Friday: Off
Saturday: Walk

Hi girls! You are all doing so amazing! I have been really busy lately, but I just wanted to check in and say thanks Christy for asking about me!! :) I have been maintaining about 5 workouts per week. Lately I have been doing more Firm workouts for weights and Cathe step for cardio. Here was my last week:
Sun: CTX-All step (cardio & stretch only)
Mon: cardio - but I don't remember which one?
Tues: Firm-PP-Fat Burning
Wed: off
Th: Firm-Not so Tough Aerobic Mix (felt tough to me, though ;-))
Fri: Step Blast
Sat: off

I went to the doctor on Friday and I guess that I have started dilating and my cervix is extremely soft and very "favorable." If I don't go into labor by the 27th (only 8 more days!!! ) my doctor scheduled an induction. I can't believe that it is almost time! I wonder if she will come sooner - I have a lot of contractions and some of them are really doozies! I would much rather that she come on her own, so please pray for her and me that everything happens the way that it should!

Keep up the awesome work girls!! I will keep you posted!

Sara!
I am extremely impressed that you are maintaining your workouts! You are such an inspiration!

Woohoo! Your baby is almost here! I'll be praying that your little one will come naturally before the 27th...

Take Care!

Sara, I'll be watching for your birthing story...it'll be right around the corner. You, and all my prego fitness buddies are in my prayers!!!

Christy,

I think you have inspired me to order the Slim Series. I read a post from you back in the summer and have been reading other good things.

Hi there! Sara, how exciting for you. I hope all goes well and soon you will meet your new baby! And I agree that you are an inspiration to us all.

This past week I've had lots of trouble getting comfortable sleeping at night. Hip & butt pain with lots of turning one side to another to keep it at bay. I'm sleeping with lots of pillows and extra blankets as cushions, too, like people recommend. My feet are starting to hurt, too. And I was doing so well up to now! I hope my body adjusts to the changes soon. I feel best when I'm working out but I can't do that at 3a.m.!

Anyway, my weight gain has been steady so far but I think I put on a fast couple of pounds in just a few days because my maternity jeans fit better. :( I'd rather they be on the loose side!

Everyone is doing a great job. Have a great week!

Stacey,

Are you teasing me with the word nauseous after reading my post last week? :)

Diana,

You are doing great! Keep up the good work!

I am having the same sleep discomfort in my hips. I wake up on my back frequently. I keep trying to roll to my tummy, but that doesn't work of course. I hope it is just a matter of your body adjusting.

Thanks for the encouragement, Autumn. I guess a lot of women experience the hip pain. I thought it was from the weight gain, extra pressure on places my body is not used to, but I don't really know for sure. I also end up on my back but I try to keep a pillow tucked back there to keep from lying totally flat. This is manageable, so I'm thankful for that. But I do hope the little aches and pains subside and the rest of my 2nd trimester is as ache-free and energetic as it started!

Diana - Hang in there! My hip and back pain are the worst discomfort for me throughout my pregnancy, too! They are just spreading getting ready for the big day! I know that it is terribly uncomfortable, but you know that it will be totally worth it in the end! Keep up the awesome workouts and don't get discouraged! ;-)

Autumn - The slim series is fun and a good way to switch up those workouts every once in awhile! The time goes by pretty fast, too. I kind-of miss them right now because I have been having trouble finding a full hour (or more on some of them) to workout! Enjoy! :)

Hi everyone,

I can totally relate with the discomfort while sleeping. It seems like I toss and turn all night trying to find a comfortable position and I know it's only going to get worse as I get bigger (and bigger and bigger :) I talked my husband into going into a Select Comfort store while we were at the mall the other day. I told him I wanted to find out what my "sleep number" was. Oh, those beds were so comfortable. Now I'm trying to convince him that I really need one:p I think he might be about ready to give in.

Sara - I admire the way you've continued to workout. I really need to get back on track. Now that I'm in my second trimester I'm starting to feel better. You're in my prayers. How exciting to be so close!!

Hi Autumn,
I agree w/ Sara that the Slim Series is really fun and a good way to switch things up...
What I like about them right now (being 30 weeks pregnant) is that there is not that much cardio! :) Pre-pregnancy days I was a cardio junkie. IMAX1 and Bootcamp made it into my weekly rotation regularly. Well, these days I find I'm breathless with the Slim Series! There is very little bouncing around.
Plus, there are a lot of standing moves so modifications are not really necessary. The only thing that I have to modify with this series is ab work and the occasional chest work lying down -- which, are easy modify.
If you are on the fence w/ these workouts, I would say go for it - if you decide that you don't like them, then, I am positive they will sell very well at Ebay or they can be traded for other videos. :)

Oh, how I long for sweaty workout! :)

Take Care!

Diana,
I feel your pain... (well, my pain) :) Sleeping is so uncomfortable these days. I find I wake up in the middle of the night with achey hips -- and rolling over is so hard to do! One thing that has been helping me is to lie on my back but put a pillow under one butt cheek. That tips the uterus to one side so I don't have to worry about the circulation issues. It is also good because I am not laying on my achey hip.

I also had the same thing with the weight -- right around my 6th month I gained a lot of weight/inches fast. I've found that the weight and inches gain evens out -- the following month I still gained, but it was at a much slower rate.

Hang in there! :)

Thanks to everyone for the words of encouragement. Not that I want anyone else to experience these aches but it's comforting to know other women can relate - only so that I know this is all normal.

As if the hip/butt and feet pain weren't enough, I've developed a sciatic nerve pain on my left side. It's usually been on my right side before getting pregnant. So that acts up usually once or twice a day. And to add insult to injury...I'm on my third nosebleed since last week!

Again, it's all manageable so I'm not complaining, but just trying to adjust to the body changes since it's all so new. Luckily there was something interesting to watch on cable from 2a.m. to about 4:30a.m. last night (a rarity) as I was wide awake due to the leg & hip aches!

Christy, my dr says the same thing about the weight gain, that it'll taper off in the third trimester, so that's encouraging, too.

When I look at the tiny, adorable baby clothes I'm starting to collect, I know it will be all worth it!

Diana - I remember those nose bleeds well!! With my first pregnancy, I got them all of the time! I would even be sleeping and wake up to blood everywhere! No fun! x( Fortunately this time I haven't had as many, but I have different "stuff" this time!! ;-)

Also, I just wanted to thank everyone for all of your kind words! I hardly feel like an inspiration but it sure is nice to hear all of you wonderful ladies encouraging and praying for me! I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow so I will let you know if I am dilated any more or if the induction is still on. I just really wish that she would come naturally! Thanks again girls!! :D
