Susan- I love it! It made me laugh! DH and I keep talking to him telling him he can come anytime now!!! The pics are adorable! It makes me excited for James to hurry and get here! And Haley looks great!

Not a whole on the schedule today. Back is real sore from doing alot yesterday so I will take it easy. DH and I had sex yesterday to get things going and I hope to walk on TM today too.

Hi Melanie! Hope you are hanging in there!

Hi to all the other preggos! Hope you guys are feeling good and having a great weekend!

BBL!

Morning Jen! You know what I think got things really going for me..the ENAMA! after that I had contrx all night and was in real labor when I got to the hospital to be induced!

Melanei-I hope you had a better night.

Kara is back in bed and Im gonna get some house stuff done.

Hi ladies!

Susan, I love the photos. Haley looks sooooo good! It's a good thing Kara is too little to be scared! And the moby wrap thingie looks really nice & cuddly.

Jen....James is next! Yippie! Are you all ready now? You have to post belly & nursery pics for us, k?

My platelets dropped AGAIN. They are dangerously low....ladies. I'm trying not to worry.....trying to get through the day. My nose is bleeding alot & it's scary. Spontaneous bleeding/stroke are some of the more dangerous side effects right now. If they don't go up tomorrow I will start a round of high-dose steriod infusions. This means hourly glucose checks and insulin infusion to combat blood glucose fluctuations associatied with the steriods. THESE PLATELETS HAVE TO GO UP!!!!

With each passing day......I'm thinking that the 35 week mark is a more doable goal. That will put me at November 12th. I have an ultrasound tomorrow which includes a biophysical profile & a growth scan. I'm hoping the girls are at the 5-lb mark.

I had one of the nurse paint my belly with Iodine and outlined the my belly to make it look like a pumpkin. My little ones will get a real kick out of it!!

Happy Halloween, ladies! Okay, the day after...LOL. I was good -- only had 3 pieces of candy :)

Susan, Kara and Haley look great! I have to download my pics -- DD was Tinkerbell, and Drew was a monkey. He slept through the whole thing, of course.

Jen, I'm so excited for you! Can't believe your number is finally here!! James will be here before you know it. Is your 39 week appt tomorrow? Sending labor vibes your way ;)

Melanie, I saw in the thread from last week that you moved to a different hospital. What a week you've had. The information you shared today is scary stuff. Thank heavens you are at a hospital, where you are so carefully monitored. I hope the tests show the girls at 5 lbs each, and I hope your numbers go up. Your stomach pumpkin is hysterical! Love that through all of this, you're still able to keep your sense of humor.

Drew's fussiness is finally starting to subside a bit (thank goodness). He's starting to smile now, and he also seems to laugh! I love it that he's finally starting to interact with us; DD is so excited that he's "doin' stuff now, Mommy." LOL

Melanie- I am so sorry about the numbers! I hope your platelets go back up! At this rate, you may have the twins before me. My girlfriend had her twins at 35 weeks and they were both over 5 lbs (just barely). I think only one stayed in the hospital for a week for his lungs and now they are big and healthy! LOVE the belly pics!

Been cleaning like crazy and all the laundry is done. I've been eating like crazy. You'd think I wasn't going to eat again for days. Everything tastes good! Having brx hicks and pressure but still nothing to write home about. Maybe we will try sex again???

Allison- I'm technically 39 weeks tomorrow but my appt isn't until Tuesday. Wonder if I will make it????

Susan- Where can I get an enema? Do you ask the pharmacist?

Allison~ so nice to hear from you. I know life is much busier with baby!! :D

Jen~ You're in luck----pharmacist at your service-- you can buy enema over the counter. As exciting as the product is, they are about $1.50/each!!! Get the saline one (not mineral oil).

I got a tour of NICU. I feel soooooo much better now. I got to see twins born at 33 weeks. They looked great. The babies are mini---but look healthy & fatty. My babies lungs are probably mature at this rate b/c of all the steriods I'm on. The suckling will be the biggest issue if delivered this week or next week---with a probable 14-21 day NICU stay. If I can keep them in until week 35-36 we're looking at 2-10 day NICU stay.

I feel soooooo much better! :D There's a Ronald McDonald house & some rooming available here at hospital that we can take advantage of.

Hi Ladies!
Burgers are in the grill...corn on the cob boiling! Ya'll come on over!

Jen-I got a Fleet..2 for like 3 bucks!

Allison-HI!! Im glad Drew is getting less fussy! Kara gets fussy for a couple of hours in the evening, but all in all she is pretty content most of the time.
Melanie-so glad you are feeling better! I love your pumkin belly! Did you boys like it??

Waves to everyone! Dh and Haley are waiting on me to play. Bop It...too fun! bbl

Morning!
Long night for us! Kara was up a LOT. Finally got her to sleep at 4:30. She has been sleeping so much during the day that its starting to interfere with her nights. And its impossible to keep a 3 week old awake when they want to sleep. So Im just trying to chill about it and know it will work itself out. The big mistake I made with Haley was stressing over sleep wayyyyy too much! Dh has been so great about helping me nights. He can't feed her or anything, but just being awake for support is very nice.

Haley is up wanting breakfast. BBL

Urgh. Sorry about the lack of sleep, Susan. Hopefully you can catch up a bit when she snoozes today.

I"m waiting labs...

Morning everyone! Well I had some weird pains last night when I laid down to go to bed that I think were contractions. They started on the sides of my stomach, went around to the back. They started out fairly tolerable and then increased and then went away. It kind of felt like when I had the stomach flu one time and my intestines were cramping except my whole stomach was tight. It went on for about 20 min and then subsided. I have had some mild ones this AM but no real pattern. I am stuck at work but I am going to try to walk and move as much as I can.

Sorry about the lack of sleep Susan. Sounds like a good idea not to stress about it. I've heard, just as you said, that it will work itself out.

Morning Mel! How are you feeling? Anything new about the girls?

Waves to all!

Jen, it sounds like things are stirring up within!!!

I have one test result back, my stupid platelets dropped slightly again today. :( Waiting for the slew of residents, perinatalogist, and hematologist to decide what to do with me. I don't know if they'll just wait it out another day....or procede to next step. I'm trying my best not to worked up.

My u/s is scheduled for sometime this AM.

My friend is coming to beautify later this AM. I hope this doesn't interfere with all the medical stuff going on. LOL She's going to put some hi/lo lights in my hair & trim it up a bit. She's even bringing her wax machine thingie for my eyebrows. This should help my psyche......I want to look nice for my girls. :D

That's it. Just alot of waiting!!!

Jen-sounds like it will be any time now girlie!!!!! I can't wait to hear all about it
Melanie-sorry about your platelets...those suckers have a mind of their own!!!! What would the next step be?
kara i s up bbl
oh goin to dr at 1 about whatever is falling out of me

Melanie- I'm sorry to hear about your platelets...let us know what they say. Hopefully the girls will still get to bake in your belly!

I am going nuts! I am so antsy and I just don't want to be at work. This is so hard! Just needed to vent....

I'm just going to cut & paste my carepages here so I don't have to re-type everything:

Babies are doing great! Madalynn is 4lbs 7 oz & Myranda is 4lbs 8 oz on today's ultrasound. They both scored perfecr scores on biophysical profiles as well.

My platelets are still struggling. The babies seem to be zapping them right out of me. This AM they were down to 16,000...which just plain sucks.

So, I was started on high dose dexamethasone about 10 minutes ago. It is a high potency steriod infusion. This will be infused daily for 4 days. Biggest side effect of the medicine are excitability (and I'm already feeling jittery) and increase glucose levels.

The toughest part for me is that I will have to have my glucose levels checked HOURLY for the next four days (yup, 24 finger pokes per day). My poor fingers are blistered & bruised from testing four times a day...and with low platelets they get sores on them. :(

The good news is I will be on an insulin drip, so they will adjust my insulin levels hourly.....so no more pokes & bruising in my abdomen & thighs.

My platelets should hold stable and increase over the next 4-7 days. There's a large possibility that they will want to deliver the babies at 34 weeks mark (this Friday).....if my platelets are in safe zone for C-Section. Safe zone is 50,000 for surgery.

------------------------
I"m off to sulk & pout for a little bit. I'm feeling irritable & grouchy.......

Hugs Melanie! I am sorry that your platelets aren't cooperating... I hope the increase in steroids helps.

I've felt like I had to poop (Sorry if TMI) a few times today and then when I get to the bathroom...nothing. Having some real strange sensations and pains. Hoping this means something is going on! I have 39 week appt tomorrow at 930 am so hopefully I have progressed!

Jen, any day now!! Sounds like your body is gearing up. I remember being soooo antsy at work at the end. I had everything done and organized 2 weeks before my due date, in case I went a bit early. I was nervous about everything -- when/where my water would break, what labor and delivery would be like, etc. And I was just so darn excited to meet the baby!! It will be here before you know it :)

Melanie, Wonderful news about the girls' weights!! Hopefully that is calming your nerves. I'm sorry your platelets aren't up :( If they are NOT at 50,000, then what happens? What if the docs are not able to get them that high at all?

Susan, sorry Kara had a rough night. Drew is not a consistent sleeper, so EVERY night has been unpredictable. Not to jinx myself (!), but I've received two of those fleece liners for infant car seats. I put one on the swing last night -- he has slept like a rock the 3 times I've put him in there today! Even slept for 2.5 hours in one stretch -- that hasn't happened since his first week home!! Please -- let this be the ticket...

Hi to all the other ladies! :)

Hi ladies,

It must be my pregnancy hormones but I am feeling down today, too much stress lately. We had the house inspected by our 3rd party inspector and he found only minor issues, I guess the biggest issue is that the house is supposed to have a full sprinkler system but there is one area (the sod over the retention wall on the backyard that is not covered by the system so we would have to water that ourselves) I hope they don't fuss much about that and fix it somehow.
Today I had my 35 week check up, gained 1/2 pound more this past two weeks and from now on they'll see me every week. I got the h1n1 flu shot and she checked my cervix (no changes, long and soft) They also did a swab test for Streps and I'll get my sonogram done on Wednesday.
Went to Ross and got 2 more sleeping gowns for my labor bag.
I asked the Dr about induction after 40 weeks and she said that they induce as early as 39 weeks if I wanted to, I guess I'm having guilt feelings for wanting to be induce at 39 weeks. I was talking to my mom and she told me that it's better to just let things flow naturally, I snapped at her which is making me feel miserable because she is the sweetest thing on Earth and she just told me to relax and get some rest in the nicest way. Maybe I'm just being selfish... When I think about what some of you are currently going thru, it makes me mad at myself for worrying for something so stupid. I'm not usually that way, i just thank God that my DH keeps me grounded and looking at the big pic. I tell to myself that verse Philippians 4:6 (Do not be anxious about anything...) I am just crazy to meet my little boy!

Melanie, i am glad your girls are doing great and passing the test with flying colors. It is rewarding to know that everything is paying off. I hope those platelets go up to a safe range for you and the girls.

Jen, are you doing the Enema? I'm considering it. Crossing my fingers for you tomorrow, hoping you have a lot of progress overnight!

Susan, you look great and your two girls are just adorable. Haley looks so proud of her little sis

Allison, sounds like Drew is adjusting a lot better now. I enjoy reading your posts and getting tips from you, Keep them coming

waves to all of you and I'll check back tomorrow

Jen,.....you better have James before my girls come!!!!! Or I'm coming after you. LOL

Precilla,.....your thoughts are perfectly normal. Pregnancy is long & uncomfortable. Don't feel guilty for wanting to be induced. I'm so grateful that term is 36 weeks for twins.......I cannot imagine going another 7 weeks!!! If your sprinklers don't pass.....can you have the sellers fix before you move in?

Evening ladies
Im so frustrated about my appt today. I have a prolapsed bladder and my dr seems to think this is "normal". I have read about it and there are 3 levels. When its coming out its a level 3 and surgery might be needed. He said my uterus had dropped too...geeezz! Anyway, I am going for a 2nd opinon. I cannot see going through life feeling like something is coming out of me. Oh and he said if I stand alot or lift things it could get worse....well I am surely NOT going to be sedentary!! Im not 80 for goodness sakes.
Im am sooooooooooo sleepy so Im hitting the sack. Kara was up more today so Im hoping for a better night. I will do personals in the AM.
Waves to everyone!!
