Preggers & TTC ~ Week of May 11

Hi,
I am back to my "old" self again (no allergy problems this week). I think I coughed just a few times-that's it!!! I have definitely grown over the past 2 weeks, and I feel heavy in the middle. Today, I did LIC, and this week I did Squeeze (boy, did I feel that), GS Legs, and took 2 walks. I just feel blobby, though. Oh, that's par for the course!

Morris-I am glad it's just a UTI. They are a pain, but at least it's treatable. You'll feel relief soon.

Maggie-My ankles are starting to swell. I had a rough time with swelling my first pregnancy, but just on my right side. I remember not recognizing my leg because it looked so big and strange. Hopefully, it will go down soon. What are you doing to relieve it? I want ideas so that when it happens to me again, I am prepared.

Kate-It sounds like you had a busy and productive week!

Lisa-I can't wait to hear about the us

Hi Kristin-It's getting very close for you!

Not much going on this weekend. My sis and bro in law are coming for a visit tomorrow with their son who just turned 1. I would love to get the rest of our plants/flowers so I can finish the gardens. I plan to walk tomorrow morning before they get here.

What is everyone else up to?

hi everyone

jen, how did the gardening go? the family visit?

i am happy to report i feel a million times better. got in a killer workout today, too, so that is great. now i am off to meet dh at work for a retirement party. not my first choice for a date, but it will do. hope everyone has a great weekend. any fun plans??

Lisa, it is unthinkable how many slurpees DH and I had together in high school! Cancer, here we come! Let us know which DVDs you got! Glad you're feeling good! Keep us posted on Wednesday - too cool! Hope the recital goes well.

Morris, Glad you're feeling better. Has the peeing frequency calmed down a bit? Have fun tonight!

Jen, How many weeks now? I did LIC today too! My round ligaments were kinda sore so I didn't puch too hard but I still got a great WO in. Hope you have fun with your family. glad you're feeling better.

We've had a crazy but fun day. This AM was preschool cleanup since it will be closed for the summer. All afternoon we got ready for DD2's 4th bday party. She had a blast tongiht with everyone over but we are definetly all tired now! sunday after church we are coming home and staying home. NO PLANS!!!

18 weeks today!!!

Okay--we all know the normal pregnancy symptoms like nausea and swelling and hormones, but does anyone have any wierd ones?

I do and they are as follows:
1. Hot feet--unbearably hot, especially as they swell in the hot weather. I'll probably have to construct some ice "mittens" soon.

2. I crave very strong minty tastes in the 3rd trimester--like I'll brush my teeth 2-3 times in a row because I love the minty taste of the toothpaste. I also really crave peppermint altoids and eat too many at a time.

3. I crave certain chemical cleaning smells during the 3rd trimester--I know this one could be dangerous and really it's all I can do to not be a "sniffer". Normally these kinds of smells either don't do anything for me or make me kind of sick, but not during the 3rd trimester.

So, please let me know I'm not alone in pregnancy freakiness.....

Kate--I love it when I have no plans. I have tons of appointments in the next 3 weeks (blah!), then a reprieve. You and your dh must be high school sweethearts:* (the slurpee thing). I was 21 and dh was 19 when we met and we've been inseparable ever since. We dated 3 years before we married, so we've been together for 18 years and married for almost 15. He is my best friend and the love of my life.

Lisa--Slurpees/icees sound really good right now. I can't wait to hear which Cathe's you got and news about your big U/S.

Morris--I'm glad you are feeling better--I've never had a UTI, but it sounds absolutely miserable. I hope you and dh have fun at the retirement party--hey--you have to take what you can get. Dh and I snuck off to buy plants last weekend for an hour and left the kiddos at home. It was a nice date.

Jen--I don't really have any advice re the swelling. It is definitely worse with hot weather and it gets worse as I age. My feet do go down over night and are almost normal in the morning, so staying off them works, but who can just lie down all day? The only way I would do that is if the doctor ordered it for some reason and right now there is no reason. I might google it and see what can be done.

Hi Kristan! Hi Anne! Hi Lurkers!
take care all
Maggie
