Precise Nutrition?

I don't know what comes with the program now. I purchased mine 2 years ago. There are few women on this forum who purchased it more recently, but I haven't seen them post in a while.
IMO, it is worth it!

John gives you the basic plan for you to follow, and then guides you on how to individualize the program for your specific needs/goals.

This will give you a the basic plan.

Here is Skwigg's pictures of her PN food, and a brief history of her past eating programs and what led her to PN. She sold me on PN:)

I'm assuming you mean Precision Nutrition?

I ordered mine the end of May, and it came with the Gourmet Nutrition 2 cookbook and a set of calipers to measure bodyfat percentage. Came with something else too but I can't recall what that is right now. Best $$$$ I ever spent!!! :D:D

The cookbook is wonderful!

Carol, have you tried the chocolate peanut butter protein bars? Tastes like a chewy brownie:p. I add extra egg whites so they're super moist and chewy. My family loves those bars!

Cynthia - I was looking around and found parts of the books for download and checked them out. (Here is the link if anyone is interested: http://www.fighttimes.com/magazine/magazine.asp?article=654)

I see that a lot of Splenda is used. Does he mention anywhere about substituting a natural sweetener? Also, I assume that this is pretty clean eating? Lastly - I saw your sample plan on the other thread. Is there a lot of counting of stuff, etc? DH laughs whenever I tell him I am going to do something like Cathe's nutrition software. He thinks I would last a day, if that. I would last at least 2 just to spite him! Thanks for the info -

Meowracer, you don't have to use Splenda. I don't use any sweeteners myself. I don't count anything. I just make sure I'm getting my 20 to 30 grams of protein each meal (I eyeball it or I already know the grams in certain foods) and my 2 to 3 servings of veggies (again ... I eyeball it). I add in good fats throughout the day, and I'm done. :D I've had GREAT success on this program. In 16 weeks I lost almost 30 inches, 18 pounds on the scale, and 10% bodyfat. Those numbers translate to 7# of lean muscle gained and 23# of fat gone. :D:D

Cynthia, I haven't tried that recipe yet! I'm afraid I'd eat the entire batch since I need avoid chocolate like the plague or I pig out BIG TIME!!

Carol- HOLY COW, WOMAN! That is amazing. Thanks for the response. Did you actually start eating more on this program?? I think I need to do that to build more muscle. I know I don't eat enough. It comes from two things - I don't really enjoy eating and therefore often sort of forget about it, and two, I am scared of eating too much and gaining weight rather than building muscle. Really doesn't make sense b/c I exercise hard and know my body needs the extra fuel, and adding the right amount of calories/protein/carbs/nutrients will only make my muscles grow, which is what I want. I feel like I am always fighting off a mild eating disorder which stems from my mom and living with that all of my life. I am 5'9" and 130 and don't want to lose any - don't really want to gain any either. Just want to build more muscle and further lean out.

I may give this a try. Sounds interesting. Thanks again for the info, and congrats on your amazing success!

I am eating a lot more than I was when I was trying to simply "lose weight". It's the ONLY way to build muscle. Lots of lean protein, and lots of weight lifting, which is why I'm SO EXCITED about STS !!!!!! :D:D:D

If you have any more questions, please just ask!!

I'm not sure I can post John's comments from his private forum on here.
In my words, he does not see any problems with using Splenda in very small amounts. The use should be based on individual tolerance.

PN is not a one size fits all diet. He gives you the basic blueprint. His forum is filled with a lot of information.
A vegetarian could easily follow PN. It's that versatile!

I'm so glad someone brought this up! I've been looking for a good eating plan- I'm 5'9" and about 136 pounds. I would like to lose maybe another 5 pounds, but my primary goal is to build more lean muscle. I need to eat more (I'm a long time Weight Watchers person) and I have "eat only x points a day" drilled into my subconscious. I can't seem to try something else for fear of putting on weight. I'm working out hard 6 days a week and I know I probably need more calories than I am eating but it scares me a bit without some guidance. I will definitely look into this! Thanks again!
