Hi, Denise,
Wow, it sounds like you have got it goin' on with the workouts!! I do have one suggestion for you regarding the diet- you might be adding quite a bit of hidden sugar with all the orange juice, hot cocoa and sometimes even things like fruit and honey ham can have a very high glycemin index or sugar factor. I personally find that sugar beverages (even orange juice) takes up a lot of calories and keeps my body functioning on sugar instead of on burning fat. If you love orange juice and hot cocoa, I would cut the amount way down and use sugar free hot cocoa. You might be surprised at how much that helps! For fruit, I eat fruit that has a lower glycemic index like cantaloupe, apples, bananas if they are not over ripe at all, in that barely-yellow-not-at-all brown stage.
All the best!
Amy

I'm sorry, Wendy! I don't mean to sound complicated by using the "glycemic index" stuff.
I read a book about that once. Basically, just look at the food labels and check out the sugars.

It's not that orange juice is bad, but a 12 oz glass of OJ has 180 calories and 45 grams of sugars- natural, yes, but very concentrated. The "clean" form of orange juice is an orange, which has 70 cal and 14g. sugar, so I would choose the orange over the juice and use the rest of the calories for FOOD that will help me last until I need to eat again.

Prepared hot cocoa has 25 grams of sugar before you add milk (probably most people add water.)

I have found that keeping sugars high makes me stay hungry.

Ummmm...... can I take my measurements tomorrow? We went out for Indian last night and I got carried away...........
:(

Also, I totally agree with Amy about eating low on the glycemic index. It's done away with most of my cravings for sweets!

You want measurements now?! Damn!x( alright......i just happened to take mine b/c i take them at the beginning of every month.

calves: 15in.
thighs: 24in.
arms: 12in

Hi All,

My measurements are almost the same as Jes's. I don't have wide hips either-just a very round curvy behind. Smaller in the chest than Jes though, one can only hope. After I measure I can put up exact figures. Currently following the August rotation with added cardio.

Good Luck with HC everyone,

Diana

Wanted to see if I got my image right.

We have dial up and I can't get into the pictures post from home.

Don't drink your calories! The thing that sticks out for me about your diet is you drink a lot of calories that you could replace with food. You could replace your orange juice with oranges, replace the milk with yogart, and ditch the hot cocoa for something else. I consume zero liquid calories, and pack a lot into the average 1300 calories I eat every day (except for my pig out day!). You also mentioned mayo on your wrap - you could replace that with mustard and save calories.

It's quite okay, Amy! :)

Yeah, I get frustrated but I always seem to learn something new about eating when I visit this forum! I should start writing it all down and then when I am ready to hit my diet hard (after baby is born), I'll have my info to get me started! *GROAN* I LOVE TO EAT! This is my downfall. ;(

Pre-pregnancy I was 125 pounds and I'm 5'3". I had already lost about 15 pounds. I started out at 140. I was happy with my general body size but I could tell there was still that fatty layer covering most of my muscles...I am looking to get rid of that and I know eating will be key.

Who knows what I'll be dealing with post baby though. I have gained 25 pounds so far and I'm 25 weeks along. Might sound like a lot but everyone tells me I look great b/c I'm all belly...the rest of my body has not packed on the pounds. YEAY! :+ (Thanks, Cathe!) So hopefully if they are right I won't be too bad off as far as extra weight gain goes....

Sorry for babbling, lol, I guess I'm "thinking out loud" here. :p

Have a great work out!

I agree with cakebaker (love the name!). For me, it is a waste to drink calories. I drink water and tea and coffee (both black). I would much rather chew my calories!:) I won't even have a glass of wine for the same reason.
I enjoy oranges much more than juice. I hope you don't think this is critical as we are all different but for me, drinking my categories is unsatisfying.

RE: Hi Nancy!!

Nancy,

I thought of you on Friday night. My friend and I went out for Thai and she mentioned wanting to try Indian food some time. I immediately thought of how you mentioned you & your husband love that stuff. There aren't any places in my local area. I am going to see if there are any in Center City. Btw, you look lovely in your pics. You look a lot younger for your age. It's so nice to "see" you finally!!

RE: Hi Nancy!!

Hi Aila! I love seeing the pics of everyone. I agree that it's great to see what people look like.

Keep looking for an Indian restaurant, but don't go too often! I have to cut back on my eating for a few days after I go to make up for it. Yesterday was all salad with fat-free dressing and fruit.

Love the baby belly pics

Wendy, I love your baby belly pics too! I took pics every month when I was pregnant. I really enjoyed being pregnant and seeing the baby belly grow. Keep posting pics :)

I agree too. I read a study where people given extra calories in jelly beans adjusted their intake to balance out the extra calories; whereas, people who drank extra calories in the form of soda, took them in in addition to their regular calories. I prefer fruit to juice also but I do find that eating fruit in season is the way to go. Fruit out of season is often tasteless and I'll take a glass of O J over a sour orange for that reason. Of course, citrus is a winter fruit so oranges are pretty good right now. And I eat alot more vegetables than fruit.
