Prayers and Hugs for Wil, please...

Melody, I'm speechless. I don't check OD too often these days, so I hadn't really grasped what Wil has been enduring with such grace all this time. You, your husband and Wil are just unbelievable. My 3 children and I are sending up our prayers for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. Who knows what medicine will bring to this child in the coming years?

I'm about 5 miles up the road from Scottish Rite and sending WAVES of healing prayers to your sweet boy. He really sounds like such a wonderful kid, and you and your DH are so wise to see the blessing in his presence in your life, despite the hardships that all of you have endured (and especially Wil).

If there's ever anything I can do to help in Atlanta, please don't hesitate one second to let me know!

Melody, I will certainly keep you and Wil in my prayers. I have an 8 yo boy too - aren't they the best?:) My little guy had a mishap and fractured his wrist and is in a cast for at least a couple weeks and isn't happy about it at all. Then I read Wil's story and am reminded what a very, very minor inconvenience his injury is, in the greater scheme of things.

Hi Everyone!

Wil came home from the hospital late yesterday afternoon and is having a pretty bad time with pain. The 1-1/2 hour surgery became a 2-1/2 hrs surgery as they discovered they needed to do a lot more tendon and muscle work than originally planned.

I'll post a "report" and more sensible update tomorrow -- we're working on practically no sleep for days here. We've learned Wil has an extremely high tolerance for hard drugs and nothing is relieving his pain very much and nothing is putting him to sleep!

Wil wanted me to thank everyone for their prayers and let you know, "I'm home from the hospital. I'm doing pretty good. Thanks for all the toothfairy stories. When I feel better I'll write a story for you."

We love each of you for your support of prayers and hugs. Thanks and we'll be back later.:)
