I finally got my powerstrike DVD (the only one they put out on DVD, millenium 3 I think). Several asked me to post what I thought once I got it. I have the flu right now so I have only previewed it but here are my initial impressions:
The Good:
Easy to learn
Emphasis on good form
Saftey tips given
1 hour long (I like any cardio to be at least 1 hour)
Low-impact (the only thing I saw that would be impact at all were scissor jumps and you can modify those easily)
I liked the instructors. They were "real" and not cheesy.
The Bad:
More kickboxing than cardio. Not saying it wouldn't get my heartrate up, but it's no KPC!
It's more like the "drills" part of KPC than the first half and the drills are really easy, not complicated (which can be good from learning but bad when it gets boring).
They are really sweaty. I mean really sweaty. Studio must have been overly hot.
Weird camera zoom-ins on sweaty armpits etc. Not only is that not something I want to look at, but it also wasn't helpful from a knowing what they were doing perspective. They would zoom in so close you couldn't tell what moves they were doing.
Overall: I think it's well worth the $24 (that's the DVD price). Production quality was not Cathe (but what is?!), but it was decent. The workout was good for a day when I need something lighter. I have bad knees so a low impact workout to mix in is welcome.
