Power 90 Workout

Hi! I posted this question a little while ago and someone told me to do a search for the topics on P90 and there are lots of links that will be helpful to you.

My husband is on the 3rd week of P90X and it pretty EXTREME! Is pretty tough, but not impossible, especially if you have been doing Cathe's workouts for a while.

I am thinking in joining him after I finish my rotations with Cathe this month. I will never leave Cathe, but I can do the program for 90 days with my husband to support him and just do something different.

My husband has supported me all the way when started doing Cathe's workouts and now its my turn to support him on P90X. :) He has also done Cathe's weight workouts and amongst his favorites are Upper/Lower Pyramid, Slow and Heavy, and BootCamp.

P90X is a different approach to fitness, so if you decide to do it, be ready for a 360 degree change in workout routine. It definitely works. some people say that they have not followed the diet exactly, but eat clean and healthy and it works just as well.

So, give it a try and see how you like it. I can already see results in my husband's physical appearance. :D

:) P90X is the advanced workout. Way too advanced for me right now.
I was referring to Power 90; the set that Tony Horton had out before P90X. Anyone?

Thanks Maria777,

I know a lot about the Power 90 (original) workouts... In fact, a round of P90 was my "induction to fitness." From there I moved on to The Firm, then the Power 90 Master Series, and finally to Cathe.

What exactly would you like to know about Power 90?

I've done some FIRM myself from time to time. Is Power 90 easier or harder than THE FIRM? I think I'm somewhere between THE FIRM and P90X (as far as fitness level). I really don't want to backstep and try anything easier than THE FIRM.

What was your experience? Power 90 easier or harder than THE FIRM?

Thanks,

P90 is definitely easier than The Firm. In fact, I decided to go back to doing P90 after using The Firm for several months. But then I had to go back to The Firm because I realized that I had outgrown P90. I'll bet you'd like the P90 Master Series. It's supposedly SORT OF similar to P90X but less hard-core.

Now, I'm not saying you wouldn't get anything at all out of P90, but if you're used to doing The Firm, then P90 is probably a notch below your level. I think P90 is the perfect plan for those people just starting out in their fitness journey.

Hey Vicky, I was going to reply but then saw that the link above actually has my comments regaring P90Masters- I also have P90 3&4 but haven't done them in a long time. I just did Cardio Intervals & Plyo Legs last week after not touching them for about 2 months & let me tell you the day after doing Plyo Legs my butt & legs were sore! I work my lower body with high rep/low weight a lot so I rarely get sore in the legs/butt area & couldn't believe how sore my butt was! Just goes to show that variety is key to keep seeing results! :)

Don't know about the P90 but I am doing the P90X and I am 63. There are lots of modifications and he usually has one person using bands instead of a pull up bar or doing push ups on knees instead of toes. I am on phase 2 of the lean program and to be honest I think some of Cathes cardio is much harder. The yoga is very hard for me as I have never done it but getting better and some things I know I will never do. Like Tony says "do what you can and forget the rest". Your not supposed to be able to do it all the first time or you wouldn't need it. I am much stronger and have gone from knee push ups only to being able to do 4 or 5 toe push ups in about 6 weeks. There is a fit test you can take that will tell you if you can do it. Just look up P90x and go to the Beach Body website and click on fitness test.

Hi Bernadette,

I think P90 Master Series is the way to go for me. Thanks for your input.
