Postpartum: Clean Eating & Exercising Check in Dec 20th

Hi Allison. There are a couple things that I find motivating for me.

(1) The scale.
(2) Trying on my clothes I want to wear (that are inches away from buckling)
(3) A super hard workout.....why push yourself thru a brutal workout just to overeat?
(4) A picture of how fat I look

These things may sound depressing, but they are reality....and they keep me focused toward my goal

(1) The scale....how much farther do I have to go?
(2) Clothes.... feel like overeating? Squeeze your oversized hips into snug pants and wear them for 30 minutes around the house....trust me...you won't have that bowl of ice cream!
(3) The earlier in the day I workout hard---the less likely I am to overeat...you can always do a "lighter" workout later in the day....yes, TWO workouts/day
(4) Take a super awful picture of yourself and put it next to your pre-pregnancy photo.....look at it throughout the day

Ha Ha. Brutal, eh?

I'm exhausted. My girls have a cold & are having trouble nursing. Not only does that make for poor latch-on & sore nipples....but they are also having trouble sleeping. :( I'm so thankful for maternity leave!!! I cannot imagine having to get up & go to work tomorrow....especially with such burning eyes!

It's so wonderful to "see" the old faces back on here again! I did Butts and Guts two days ago and my legs and butt are sooo wonderfully sore! Those are my problem areas (besides the belly) so I think I will incorporate it once a week until I get stronger. My plan is to start Gym Style series along with Butts and Guts with some running and kickboxing. I am slowly fitting back into my jeans but I cannot stand the extra flab or muffin top right now. Plus my arms lost their cut too.

Dawn- I think I also have tendonitis in my left thumb/wrist area from holding James. It can hurt something awful esp after sleeping at night it is very stiff. I've iced it a few times and it has helped and I hope it will start to heal once I go back to work next week. :(

Allison- I started reading all my Oxygen mags and clean eating ones that I didn't read towards the end of pregnancy (no desire to look at the fit bodies) to motivate me and get me thinking of clean eating recipes.

Melanie- I'm sorry the girls have a cold and are having trouble with their latch. Are you giving them bottles of BM at all?

Oh and we did have sex (sorry if TMI) the other day and it wasnt too bad. A little uncomfortable but not alot of pain, which I was afraid of. Nothing to write home about (and poor DH even agreed) but the connection was nice.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas! I'm looking forward to the New Year but I go back to work on the 4th so I am sad. However DH is staying home with James for the month of Jan so that will be good.

Hi Jen. I can't believe that our "maternity leave" is almost done. :( It's very sad. I plan to take off until mid-Feb....but I will be tapping into my vacation time and taking un-paid time off. That is so awesome that your DH will be able to stay home with James for a month! What a great opportunity!!

No, I won't give my kiddos bottles. DH will give them bottles when I go to work...but other than that I will breastfeed exclusively....it's just the way we've done it with all the kiddos.

Jen, that's awesome that you fit into your clothes!! You can always work on toning up...the big thing is actually fitting INTO the clothes. Way to go!!!

My girls didn't sleep hardly at all last night. DH is at bait shop having "coffee" but when he gets home....I'm headed to bed!!!
