Postpartum check-in Week of March 8th

RE: Ordered Jogger Stroller

Hi there
Shopaholic--I don't know if you got the pics or not--things keep getting returned to me. I tried with the new address. Let me know and I'll try again.

Melanie--I tried to send one with me in it to you and it keeps getting returned as well--mysterious, since the one of Bardric went through. Hmmm....

Emy--got your pics of Max. Soooo cute and I love the black and white. I don't know if we can do black and white on our new digital camera. But the film is worth a splurge now and then .

If anyone else wants pictures, let me know.

RE: Ordered Jogger Stroller

Melanie, I saw that jogger on sale at the website you ordered it from. I was going to order from them too, but they are out of stock of the color and wheel size I want (navy blue & 20"). I have been shopping around for one for the past couple of months. The jogger I borrowed from my neighbor was a Baby Jogger brand. I really liked it. For how old and dirty the jogger is - it made me want to buy this brand because it still rides so well. So I think it is a good investment for the money (plus made in the usa is always important to me). You'll have to tell me how you like it once it arrives!

I am enjoying receiving all of your pictures! Thank you for sharing!

Maggie, You and your kids are so adorable! I love the vacation picture!

RE: Ordered Jogger Stroller

Emy-- I was going to get a red 20" originally, but I ended up getting it for almost $70 cheaper than the other website (joggingstrollers4less.com) AND I got it upgraded to the 24 inch wheels (which are supposed to be superior to the 16 or 20). Here's the site: http://www.allkidsstuff.com/details.php?sku=272

I was going to wait until Spring came, but I didn't want them to run out of them. You might want to check it out too. I originally wanted the red color b/c I thought it'd be easier for vehicles to see us in red...but this one comes with a strobe light & you just can't beat the price. Either way I'll let you know how I like it. :)

RE: Ordered Jogger Stroller

I ordered the yakima beetle stroller from overstock, unfortunately they no longer have it, but I just had to post to say we tried it out on monday, and a jogging stroller feels so much lighter than a 4 wheel stroller. I mostly walked but did some quick sprints. Monday was gorgeous here, sadly it has snowed ever since including today.

RE: Ordered Jogger Stroller

Was it a jogging stroller? I checked it out at overstock.com -- it looks like it'd be really nice. :)

RE: Ordered Jogger Stroller

Hi,
I bought the purple yakima beetle jogging stroller . It really seems to be made to run with. I will mostly walk, but hubby can jog with her when I work. Melanie, how are you doing with your last few days of maternity leave?

RE: Ordered Jogger Stroller

Shopaholic, that's really sweet of you to ask about me. I'm sad & excited. It makes me feel better that it's just for one week. It also makes me feel better that it'll be such a wonderful lady who'll be watching my pumpkin. I worry though (paranoid motherly worry). I worry that he won't take the bottle from her, that he'll be miserable and cry the whole time, that she won't like him b/c he won't sleep for her, that he might like her too much & reject me. Typically unrealistic worry. ;-)
I know he'll be fine, and if he isn't I'm only 3 short minutes away. I'm certain there will be some tears on my end though. It also makes me feel good that my typical day is only 7 hours. Maybe in the future I'll be able to drop down one more day/week. I"m currently averaging 32 hour work week.
How about you? Do you work outside of the home(I know you said you were a therapist)? Part/full time? I'm curious as to what all you ladies do...if you work outside the home or not?

Better late than never???

Yes I kiss the baby on his little head and back of the neck...all day long!! Oh that wonderful smell!! Alexis & Elyse, Maggie and children are all beautiful. Thanks for the great pictures!! I've got to get a better digital camera. I love to see these!!

I was getting discouraged as to the weight loss thing also Maggie...glad to have a companion (sorry). What I've decided to do after studying some oxygen mag's women's workout and eating history is Cardio - every day. Yes me the cardio hater. Actually I'm trying to do more interval type cardio to really get things going. And I'm really trying to stick to the diet (not many carbs). But I am cheating every few days by adding in a donut or something that I just plain WANT. I've always had an ecto-y type frame so I've done more lifting as opposed to cardio, but I believe this fat is screaming for some fat burning workouts and I'm trying to do enough lifting to keep the muscles in check. :) :) I can feel my cardio capacity building and I'm actually having a sweaty blast.

Sunday: Bootcamp
Monday: SS Uperbody Blast and Abs
Tuesday: Step Blast (which quit after about 30 minutes - dumb DVD player) and then Tae Bo Advanced (I didn't like this a whole lot).
Wednesday: IMAX II
Thursday: Timesaver #2 Added on heavy back work
Timesaver #4 shoulder work with added heavy
TS #1 pushup series
Abs from some TS tape (I think 4?)
Friday: KPC & L&G combination with abs, added posterior delt work
Saturday: Boot camp and some heavy bicep work
Sunday: IMAX II with abs added from KPC

The scale is finally budging again

RE: Ordered Jogger Stroller

Briee, give yourself some slack, you are still in the early postpartum period, but you can't beat those cathes for cardio. Sorry to hear you are still having dvd problems, that is so frustrating.
Melanie, I am lucky I have a very flexible job. I typically work at an office seeing a 4, 5 and 6 pm client 2 nights per week. I also see one client at noon once a week during hubby's lunch hour. Hubby meets me at my office when he is done working at 3:30 at takes Alexis home. Melanie, keep in mind worst case scenario the baby doesn't take a bottle, yes he'll be cranky but will survive, or you can run home and nurse him.
