Hi ladies! I cannot believe that little Justin will be SEVEN months old already. It's hard to believe. Can you tell I"m having trouble believing? He's so much fun & we love him soooo much!!!!

He's not yet eating solids, he's solely getting by w/BFing & breastmilk for now. For those of you who've seen pictures...you know he's not a skinny baby. I must have some rich milk b/c he's quite the little porkchop...full of dimples everywhere!!!

I"m working on getting him on a 'soft' schedule. I"m trying to get him to bed earlier in the night (around 830) and trying to get a solid 1.5-2 hr 1230PM nap. He's also taking 30-60min naps around 9am & 4pm. He wakes up around 630-7AM daily w/an explosive bowel movement. }( Sometimes it even stains his clothes & carpet!!!!

I'm going to try to remember my workout week. It went tons better this week:

Sun: Tae Bo Advanced Live 1 + abs
Mon: 45 min run
Tue: off
Wed: Timesaver (I think it was #3--it had biceps & abs)
Thurs: off
Fri: 60 min run
Sat: C & W + I want those abs

I was starting to feel all flabby from my light weeks. I"d like to start hitting abs again really hard. BTW, my 10-year old has a six pack! They look so nice. How sinful is it to be envious of your own kids?!?!?!?

Melanie, It is unbelievable how old our little babies are getting! Old... and chubby. Count Max into the chunk-o-rama category!

How fun to wake up to an explosive bowel movement every morning. What a great way to start the day - cleaning out those intestines!

Glad you are doing well. Wish I had your son's six pack too!

Nice to hear from you Emy, I haven't seen an updated pic of Max...why don't you send one my way?!?!?

Melanie, its hard to believe that Justin is 7 months old and Max, Bardric and Alexis are almost 1 year. I still remember you , Maggie and I posing on the pregnancy check in. I didn't start a postpartum thread last week cause I felt kinda silly. After all, I am no longer postpartum. I have begun posting at vf's marvelous moms check in. This weekend, Alexis and I went to two 1 year birthday parties, I can't believe soon she will be one. I am glad she remains petite as I get to enjoy her being small longer. I think she is about 15 pounds and wearing 6-9 month clothes. I am happy to say at this point my 34 year old body shows no wear from childbirth and abs although not washboard(I think only 10 year olds can get them), are looking good in a bikini. Melanie, keep up with those sit ups, the flabbiness will disapear. Last week I did my firms, I still really love my firms. Alexis still is toothless but is crawling up a storm and is full of energy and full of smiles. Emy, I too would love to see a recent pic of Max. Emy, I have some other toy recommendations, toy drum and leap pad music activity table.

Hi All,
I'm checking in this week even though all I have to report is a game of sand volleyball on Monday and a 2 mile walk on Friday.

Each day I attempt to do workouts my bleeding returns and worsens. So, I gave it up for now. It's getting better but, I guess I just need to take it easy...plus, with the lack of sleep lately, I think it is just wise to slow down a bit.

The last two weeks have been horrible. Maisie has not been sleeping very well over night -- she wakes up every hour crying/screaming. Sometimes she wants to eat, but, most of the time I think she is looking for some lovin'...which I gladly give her, but, at the same time I'm a bit frustrated because I want to get more than just an hours worth of sleep. Plus, Maisie is having difficulties eating -- she eats for about 5 minutes and then pulls off and cries. She frequently gags and I keep hearing her regurgitating her food. I think she has acid reflux. I've called the doctor about this a few weeks ago - they blew me off. Things are just not right -- she cries way too much for things to be "normal". I'm calling the doctor again Monday and insisting that they do something about it. Maisie is 7 weeks old today!

Anyway, hopefully I will have some workouts to report in the next few weeks.

Take Care!

Hi Christy. Now is the time to take it easy & ease slowly into your workouts. You're wise to back off when bleeding returns. You'll know when it's time to go full force again. It sounds like right now you need sleep!!
Maisie is so young yet, she'll be sleeping longer stretches in no time. It's too bad you can hear her regugitating. ARe you BFing? If not maybe the nipple hole size is too big? I belive little Justin had/has reflux. We used Zantac & Prilosec. The Prilosec seemed to help the most. :)

Hi Everyone!! I've posted a few times on this board, and am now adding myself to the post-partum check in. My son Jack was born July 9, 2004. :) He is five weeks old and a complete JOY!! I also have a wonderful little girl who is 3 years old. It has been an adjustment to go from one child to two, but things are going well. I had a pretty uncomplicated vaginal delivery, so I began easing back into working out last week. I am doing the FIRM Body Sculpting 2 DVDs. In my opinion, they are a good prep for Cathe workouts. Although I am not ready for Cathe yet, I am building up to her gradually. My workouts during pregnancy were mainly walking and some upper body work. Prior to becoming pregant I was in the best shape of my life thanks to Cathe....Now I just have to get back there. I am looking forward to joining this check-in and geting to know all of you!!

Mon.-Total Sculpt.
Tues.-off
Wed.-Aerobics/Weights
Thurs.-off
Fri.-Total Sculpt
Sat/Sun.-off

Hello ladies! I actually started my workouts the week before last with Cathe's new DVDs. It was a nice transition week. I kicked it up a notch the week of August 8th with the CTX serires. The intensity was not pre-pregnancy level, but I am going slowly. I hit it pretty hard Monday & Tuesday, but like Christy, my bleeding returned. I haven’t had any lochia/bleeding since Thursday, so I will continue to listen to my body.

Sun: Off
Mon: CTX PC
Tue: CTX S & I
Wed: LL
Thurs: CTX 10*10*10
Fri: CTX AS
Sat: CTX KB

Chirsty, I agree with Melanie, take it easy with the workouts. If your lochia increases or returns, you are doing too much.

I had a few nights like you are describing… Jordan decided he was lonely 3 or 4 nights last week. It is not colic… he is consolable… he wants to be held… actually he wants on the breast… not to eat… just as a “pacifier”. He seems to be getting back to a better schedule… but he has not fallen into a routine yet. He has given us 5-6 hour stretches the last 3 nights, I just wish he would do this routinely.

Jessi, I am adjusting to two kids now too. I feel that I am neglecting my daughter (just turned 4 July 31). Thank goodness kids are flexible. She is probably, in reality, adjusting better than I.

Speaking of my daughter, I registered her for dance and gymnastics. My baby girl! Motherhood is truly bitterseet! :( :) I try to avoid thinking about her starting school next fall.
;( I am still considering home schooling... I just want her to have the opportunity to socialize. How do you homeschooling moms handle that? If I don't homeschool, I am really considering private school. The classes are smaller, and private schools are not as limited with discipline. Thank goodness I have a year to think this over. ;)

Jordan is calling. Take care ladies!
