Hi everyone,

been quite a busy time here, haven't even checked in for a few weeks. DH changed jobs plus some other "extra" things going on; two kids do seem to slow down getting adjusted to everything...;))) It's amazing!

I've tried to make some improvements in my eating; I decided to stop using all kinds of artificial sweeteners. I've been quite a diet soda addict, so this is quite a change for me. Decided to go cold turkey...;)) It's been two weeks now, and I actually do notice quite a difference, I'm amazed! I have less cravings (I've had very few in this whole 2 weeks time) and a certain puffiness especially in the abs has disappeared! I "feel" a lot thinner (in a good way) and healthier. I don't know what it was, but the stuff did make me bloated. I've sweetened yogurt and stuff with fruit and tried to just wean away from my sweet tooth altogether. I suppose this has led to healthier eating habits in general, a more steady blood sugar level, so this explains for the fewer cravings.

´Baby's doing fine, she has started eating enormous amounts of food (I suppose it was at around 6 months they start really hogging on food...). Her favourites seem to be steamed cauliflower and broccoli with some quino...;)

Anyway, enough babble, I finally got my slow and heavy, so I've been doing a rotation on that for 3 weeks. I love it! I can totally see the difference in my arms especially!

mon: C.taylor Still stepping + Slow and heavy CB
tue: Circuit max + Slow and heavy shoulders
wed: off
thu: Imax 1 + slow and heavy BT
fri: Step, jump and pump
sat: KPC
sun: HSTA

Hope everyone is doing good, have a wonderful week,

Maria

Hi gals!

Not scared off, just super busy:p.

Shopaholic--glad the doc is not worried about Alexis. I had a great metabolism as a kid as well and then puberty hit and I had to watch it. Also, I was a ballet dancer and there was enormous pressure to be extremely thin. I developed a pattern of starvation + binging and purging. I never became a full blown anorexic, but I struggled with bulemia for years. I'm fine now, but I pray my daughters will develop a healthy body image and eating patterns (with our guidance).

Hi Maria--good to "see" you back--I am just finishing a 3 week S&H rotation also! I have really enjoyed it. I have gained strength for sure, but have not lost any pounds. I am fairly close to where I want to be though. I am going to do hi intensity circuits for 2 weeks, then go back and do S&H again.

take care and hello to everyone else

Busy, busy, busy. I never thought I'd be too busy to check my e-mails, but a couple of days have gone by & I missed my e-mails. Oh well. Such is life, and there are so many priorities that go above my hobbies. :)

Justin is doing well. We tried the cereal thing. He didn't seem to like Rice, so I got oatmeal & he spit up pretty bad. He's a real spitter upper compared to Jory. He hasn't in a couple of days, but we decided to hold off on the solids longer. He's almost 20-lbs so he's thriving on exclusive breastmilk for now. :)

Justin, does however still have bouts of fussiness. I thought it might be reflux as he portrayed many of the symptoms (like 9 of the 12). I tried to give him Zantac Syrup for a while...but it tasted awful & I was unable to get him to take the entire dose (only 1 ml). I'm thinking about taking him to a chiropractor. If you guys remember my birthing story, I had severe back labor & baby Justin was stuck on my 'lip' for a long period of time before I had a C-section. Pehaps he's out of ailignment? It seems to me that at 5-mos he should be out of his coliciness stage. Please advise if any of you have had chiropractor experiences w/your babies!!

Despite the fact that this was my 'light' work week, I still wasn't able to have the killer workout week that I desired. I've been tired lately & really needed to take it easy. Here's my week:

Sun: off
Mon: off
Tue: 45 min jog
Wed: 40 min walk/jog
Thurs: Step Blast + Challenge (Justin had a real nap in his crib!!!)
Fri: 45 min run
Sat: off**

**We had a couple over from our church, so I super cleaned all day Saturday, I"m certain I burned mega calories!!

Justin born 1/17/04
Jory born 4/9/94

Maria, glad to have you back. melanie, its amazing that you fit workouts in at all , with work and the 2 kids. How many hours do you work? I know my chiropractor sees kids, it can't hurt to try. We also joke about taking Alexis to the chiropractor who is also an Alexis. Alexis's fussiness seemed to decrease when she got used to solids, but she is not a spitter. Talk to your pediatrician. Alexis is now starting to take relatively consistent naps and yesterday I got her to play in her pac and play while I worked out. Although i did need to bribe her with cheerios. In other words, it does get easier. My food problem now is Ms. Alexis only wants to eat finger foods and would like to live on cheerios, cheese its and baby cookiesng only small bites of her jarred foods. we are now limiting the finger foods. She woke up last night at 2:30 am though and ate 1 1/2 jars of food.

Melanie:

My SIL had a very colicky baby who had a severe reflux problem. They used a chocolate flavored form of Zantac (not sure if that was the name of it, or if it was something different) prescribed by the doctor. It seemed to help quite a bit. Just a suggestion - let me know if you want me to find out what it was. I'd be happy to ask her. E-mail me or make a separate post as I will forget to check back here.

It's been so long since I've posted that they made me log in again. So sorry. I've had incredibly busy weeks these past two. I've hardly had a chance to check email or Cathe ;( ;( ;( .

So this may be quick! Mel...hope Justin begins to grow out of the colicky stage. Shopa...have you tried this little contraption, it's like a net attached to a handle and you can put any food in it and the baby can't choke on it. I LOVED this with Hannah. I'd put bananas and apples and ...anything in it and she would mush it in her mouth, but couldn't choke on it. Try a big baby store and they should have it. It got her used to all kinds of foods without me worrying about her choking. Noah is eating NOTHING. I'm sick of trying. My babies just don't eat until after they turn one or two and I might as well live with it!!

Workouts have been going great. I'm ending week 7 of the rotation. I FINALLY broke the plateau I was on. Don't know if it's the P90X or just the postpardum stage I'm at. My tush and legs are finally getting back to normal which is interesting because the P90X seems to be more upperbody intense, than lower body, but it seems to be working with my lower body as well. My upper body is getting much harder. I'm a little disappointed in that I want more bulk on my shoulders and I seem to have tightened up and really leaned out, but I think I just lost a layer of fat :7 I guess thats good, but I want BIGGER SHOULDERS!!! Are we ever happy??? On a good note....I can now do 4 pullups!! I must be getting somewhere.

Have a great week ladies. I have a family reunion to go to in the next two weeks so I may be a little distant for some time. We are also in the process of an addition to our home which is going to be time consuming....and MESSY.

I sent it out to a few of you, true isn't it?
In terms of Alexis's eating, she still wants to live on cheerios, but has been eating some of her oatmeal and jarred foods. unfortunately, not enough though, she has woken up the pst 2 nights for a snack.

I want to say hi to you all again! I hadn't been around for a while, and then checked back once, but then my computer crashed and I couldn't get on here for the past month. Finally it is fixed.

Max is continuing to do well. He is so smiley and fun. He is my little inch worm, scooting around, and is so mobile just in the past 3 weeks. Life is really changing now- I can't leave him anywhere! We are still breastfeeding mostly but he is enjoying 2 meals of other foods per day.

I just saw the announcement for the new workout series. 10 workouts! That is amazing and I can't wait! What will I do if I am pregnant again by the time they come out and can't use them?! Cathe had better hurry...

Thanks for the cute pictures Melanie!
