Post partum check-in November 12th

Cathlete
Hi to all you mommies! I thought I'd start the post this week, for old time sakes. My peanut will be one already on Thanksgiving...so I'm afraid that makes him a toddler, and mom no longer "postpartum". I"m beginning to get that ache in the bottom of my gut for another pregnancy. Did I just say that?!@?@?

I've enjoyed my new Cathe DVDs this week. I'm working on getting little Jadon on a sleep schedule in AM, which will allow me to get a workout in before work. It's going okay, but my workouts have been mostly 45 minutes in length, about 15-20 minutes shorter than I'd like...however my weight has stayed off.

Sun: Body Max 2
Mon: off
Tue: Mindy's Slammin Sports Cardio Sections 1 and 2
Wed: new low impact (forgot what it was called)
Thurs: Drill Max Scrambled Cardio Premix
Fri: Cardio Fusion
Sat: Turbo Jam KJP

I like cardio fusion the best. I just inflated my big ball, so I will try guts portion of butts and guts tomorrow. I"m still loving Turbo Jam, they are by far my most fun workouts in my collection.

I sure enjoy reading about everyone's progress and your babes. I don't always have time to post, but I do read (or lurk).

Have a great week!

hi melanie - thanks for starting the post! you will love the guts from butts and guts. i did it last week and had sore abs for the first time in a while. what did you think of drill max? i will try the cardio scrambler as the reg version was not enough cardio for me. but fun for sure. hope all you other mommies are well and starting to sleep a bit. mary, are you out there? how are you? you and your mum are so often in my thoughts.

since finn's daddy came home we have started sleep ing a bit better. it is amazing, and probably won't last, but i will take it for now! finn's baptism was this weekend, so i am exhusted needless to say, but he was such a great little guy - i was so moved and awed and proud. and melanie, i totally have that ache inside for another too!

sun - run 8 mil
mon - run 8 mil
tues - run 9 mil, double upper body from body max 2
wed - butts and guts, low impact circuit step only
thurs - run 9 mil
fri - drill max
sat - run 8 mil

have a great week everyone

Hi!
I usually post in the mom's to be section, but actually have a question for all you here in the post partum check in.

Did any of you have diastasis recti after having your kid(s)? If so, what was your routine for retoning/rehabilitating your abdominals? Also, when did you begin retraining your abs post partum?

Even if you didn't have the condition, I'm also curious when people started abdominal work again, and what they started out with. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks:)
Stacey

Good morning!!

My goal of waking up at 5:00 am each day last week so that I could work out for an hour turned out...not so well. I did manage to wake up a couple of days and get in a decent workout, otherwise I did my workouts in 10-minute bursts throughout the day.

Lincoln turned over from his back to his tummy for the first time last week! I'm so excited that my little man is doing so much, but a little worried about what I'll do when he starts crawling in a couple of months.

Here's my workouts:

Sat: Low Impact Circuit
Sun: off
Mon: Butts and Guts
Tues: Low Impact Circuit (Cardio Only)
Wed: Drill Max (Weights only)
Thurs: Low impact Circuit (Cardio Only)
Fri: off

Stacy - I gave you my experience in another thread, I just wanted to wish you well in the rest of your pregnancy!!

To the other ladies - keep up the good work! It makes a world of difference when your baby sleeps well, doesn't it? I feel like a whole new person today - Lincoln slept from 7:00pm to 4:30am last night.

wow linda, that is so exciting about lincoln!! good sleeping and rolling over. i know what you mean about worrying about mobility though. it will change everything. what did you think of butts and guts? i love the abs especially.

stacey, i did not have diastisis. i did start working my abs about 1 week postpartum. but everything is in a different place, so it was certainly not the same at all. it took probably 3 weeks of light crunches and planks and pilates before i could do a cathe ab routine. strength returned quickly once my coordination returned. now, at 5 months post partum, i feel like i have really strong abs again. it is just a question of having time to work out!

Hi everyone,
Mel, wow is you little one a year already?
Linda, I am so glad to hear that Lincoln is sleeping through the night.
Morris, as always, great workouts!
Stacey, I believe cathe had the separation. I didn't and started ab work on postpartum tapes about 2 or 3 weeks postpartum.

I'll add my workouts later but did want to reply here quickly. Ms. Ashley is wiggling around, and rolls halfway across the room. Its amazing to think she is already 6 months old. She is smiling more and more.

I started a firm week last week but switched to cathe when my new dvds arrived.

Hello everyone!

Kyra is now 8 weeks old and sleeping through the night. She's a great baby...can't wait to have another. :) We'll see!

Here are my workouts:

Sun off
Mon Tae Bo Bootcamp Live, walk 1 mi
Tues Timesaver #3
Wed CTX Power Circuit
Thurs SJP Step & Weight premix, 1 mi walk
Fri 2 mi walk, 8 min abs.

I have lost all the weight, and my clothes fit and my stomach is back to being flat, but the SIDES of my tummy are wider. I feel wider than usual, and I don't know whether I should just accept it or keep working at it. Did anyone else have this?

Eight weeks is too short of time to expect your body to be back to it's original shape! I was wider after my babes, but am back to my original width. ;)
That's great that Kyra is sleeping through the night. My baby will be 1 next Thursday and ALMOST slept through the night for the first time last night(slept until 4am to wake for feeding). Kyra is a great name, by the way! :)

melanie, i cannot believe jadon will be 1! i remember folowwing your posts last year this time when i was just a few weeks along. finn sounds like jadon - not too interested in sleeping thru the night, though we have gone thru about half a dozen times:)
