Hello Ladies! Everyone must be so busy. I know I have been that is why I keep posting later and later in the week. However, I can not let our check-in die. You ladies are wonderful and very inspiring so please check in when you get a free moment and let us know how you all are doing.

DH is finally home for a while. He was in Alabama all last week and the kids were not feeling well which left me one exhausted mommy with little to no sleep. I was a walking zombie. DD has been having major problems with her ear infections. I know you all are not surprised with as much as I keep saying she has one. Yesterday was her ENT consultation. She is scheduled to get tubes a week from today or if there is a cancellation maybe this Friday. In either case, I am so relieved that they will be doing this. At least then DD won’t be on antibiotics anymore. The only antibiotic that cleared up her infections is now not working at all according to the ENT doctor yesterday.

Let’s see my workouts were not that great this week. I’ve been trying new running shoes because my right heel keeps bothering me but I now know it is not the shoes that are the problems. I’ve decided to back off the running for a couple of weeks to help heal it before I begin my official half-marathon training the beginning of June. This week I’ve lost another 2 pounds. I’m not sure how the weight loss will be with me not running so much and my cardio limited because even stepping is bothering my heel, but I shall wait and see. In the meantime I am up my weight training this week and plan to do a lot more stretching which I should have been doing to begin with.

Here are my workouts from this past week:

Monday – Ran 3 miles & Body Max Abs
Tuesday – Rest
Wednesday – Ran 2 miles
Thursday – Rest
Friday – Rest
Saturday – Rest
Sunday – Ran 1.5 miles (heel was hurting pretty bad)

SunnyD – How are you liking Cardio Coach? Which one do you have? It has been on my to-buy list for at least 1 ½ years now but I’m not sure how much I would use it since summer is approaching. How are the kiddos doing?

Julie L – How is your asthma doing this week? I really hope you are feeling better. Dealing with asthma has to be tough especially since you are an active woman.

Kristan – You will be up to 6 miles in no time. You are doing great with your running and mileage. I was surprised how quickly I was able to build up to 7 miles before my injury set in. It is a minor set-back. Keep up the great work! I’ve thought about buying some more CIAs lately. One of my all time favs is with Donna Read. Right off the top of my head I can’t remember the number. What are your favs?

Annette – These last 10 pounds have been so hard to lose. We will get there but not as quickly as we would like. As far as dieting, I’ve been zigzagging my calories to help with the weight loss and have had great success with it. Of course the running I think was helping out tremendously these past couple of months. You are so close to your goal weight, keep up the good work!

Heidi – Welcome! I’m glad to see you decided to join us. If you want to try running just start slow, maybe even running/walking to get your body used to the pounding. Remember to stretch after you run and listen to your body. Your schedule looks really good. You will be able to lose the 7 lbs in no time. Keep up the good work.

Melanie – So glad to see your post. How is DH doing? Was he discharged on Saturday like you had hoped? Keep up the good workouts and try to take care of yourself. Regarding the running with the kiddos, most days that I run I am running solo because it is during my work lunch hour. I don’t think my shoulders could handle pushing them 3 or more miles.

Well, I’ve gotta get back to work. I’ll try to check-in sooner in the week. Take care!

Best wishes,

Thanks for getting the thread going. I need to post my workouts; it makes me feel accountable to someone. Kristi- I have very few of the CIA's. I did 2303 today (a step circuit with Keli Roberts; really like it). It's nice to mix up the workouts with a non-Cathe every once in a while.

My week:
Monday: Kickbox/Step/Circuit with Kimberly Spreen (CIA 2505- loved it)
Tuesday: 3.5 mile run
Wednesday: Low Max (I followed Aquajock's suggestion and held a 5 pound weight during some of the blasts- really intensified the leg work)
Thursday: nothing
Friday: short walk, about 2 miles
Saturday: nothing, although went with husband, 3 kids and my friends and their kids to Grant's farm; did a lot of walking with Gus in my new Ellaroo Mei Hip carrier; love that too)
Sunday: 4+ mile run

Have a good week.

Kristan

Thanks for getting the thread started Kristi. Like Kristan said I need to be accountable!!!

Kristi - I hope that heel heals quickly! Do you have access to an eliptical? That is always my backup when I am injured. I haven't started to mess with my diet too much yet. Still nursing, so I figure I should probably wait to get to aggressive there until we are done. Just trying to eat clean and keep the exercising up. I sneak my workouts in at lunch too! It is either that or after Nadia makes it to bed, which I really prefer lunch to 9pm workouts.

Kristan - Aren't carriers great! Our little one loves hers. Definitely makes getting out and active easier!

Melanie - how is your DH?? I hope that he is feeling better.

Julie - Are you feeling better? I don't think allergy season is letting up yet here.

SunndyD - Thanks for the cardio coach link. It looks pretty neat. I added it to my mother's day wish list.

Heidi - welcome!!

Ok, for workouts.....

Monday - IMAX 3
Tuesday - lower body weights and Kick, Punch, Crunch
Wednesday - upper body weights and eliptical 40 minutes
Thursday - rest
Friday - rest
Saturday Ran 4.5 miles, walked 1.5 miles
Sunday - Ran 3.5 miles, walked 1 mile

Nadia has went back to sleeping through the night this week. Last week she was up at 2, 4 and 6 every morning, so the end of the week workouts just didn't happen. I was so tired, but thank goodness that trend has stopped. Hopefully she keeps up this sleeping pattern!! I tried adding diary back in last week and we have confirmed she definitely has a milk allergy or sensitivity. She got a rash and I felt horrible I had tried to add it back. I just needed some yogurt and cheese. Won't be doing that again. Happy Mother's Day!! Hope you guys have a great one!

Ah, post partum workouts!! I have my post partum doc appt on Monday, and am anxious to begin my workouts again :)

I feel like everyone is so much more organized than I. It's been a month since my baby girl joined the family. She doesn't much like napping during the day, so I'm not sure when I'll be able to workout. I'm hoping she'll resume sleeping more soon -- seems to me that 4 weeks is too soon to quit napping LOL!

Happy late Mother’s Day!!

This week went well. I’m down another 1.5 pounds which leaves me only 5 more pounds to go. Once I reach that point then I will see if I want to lose any more, but I will be happy with where I am regardless. Here is my week in a nutshell with exercise. I gave my heel a break from running and it is paying off. I ran for the first time Saturday and it felt great, but I still plan to take it easy for a few more weeks just to be on the safe side. In the meantime I’ve been focusing more on weight training.

Monday – Muscle Endurance
Tuesday – Rhythmic Step (only 25 minutes because heel was bothering me)
Wednesday – Leaner Legs
Thursday – 1 section Stretch Max
Friday – Power Hour
Saturday – Ran 3.5 miles at a slow, steady pace
Sunday – Ran 2 miles w/DS in baby jogger

On a happy note, DD will have her surgery Wednesday morning to get tubes. I’m both a little nervous about the surgery and them using gas to put her under, but so excited that from all the people that have told me their kids had tubes and it worked for them that she should be so much better.

Melanie – I’m so sorry to hear how chaotic things have been for you lately, especially since MIL would not lend a hand to help while DH was in the hospital. You must have been so scared while DH was dealing with all of those tests and what may have showed up on them. I’m so glad to hear that the tests came back normal and DH is doing better. Good luck with Justin’s oral surgery Wednesday. It must be so hard to be so little and have so much dental work to be done. Prayers are coming your way. Good luck selling your baby jogger. BTW, your workouts look great!

Kristan – Your workouts look good! I’m sorry to hear that Gus might have thrush. It is so hard to deal with sick babies, daycare, & time off work. I sympathize with you. I hope Gus gets better soon.

Annette – I don’t have access to an elliptical. Actually, I’m hoping to buy one maybe by the end of summer so I can cross train with running. Way to go on your running mileage from last week.

PennStater – Welcome and Congratulations on your new addition! I'm sure you will find your own personal schedule that will work for you and your little one. You will be working out in no time. Good luck at your doctor's appointment. Are you going to be able to stay at home or will you need to return back to work?

Kristi, I feel so awful that I hadn't noticed that your DD is having surgery this morning! Gracenote replied to my post & mentioned that she was hoping YOUR surgery went smoothly....

You and your family are in my prayers!!!

My oldest had tubes put in & he never again had an ear infection. The gas is by FAR the hardes part (as you now know). My DS surgery was 12 years ago & I STILL remember the gas! DH went in with little Justin today. :( I feel sad that now my DH will have that memory... I"m excited though that both these surgeries we a success & I know your DDs will be too!!

Kristi- I am sorry DD has to have tubes put in her ears. DS # 1 had to get them when he was 2 years old. I cried when they used gas to put him under. However, he was absolutely fine. Once he had the tubes, he's never gotten another ear infection. Such a relief.

congrats on your weightloss!

Hi all. It has been a while. I just did BC for the first time and am dying!!! I must have ordered the hardest tape out there!!! I love feeling the pain though, somethings working and in all the right spots. You ladies are tough. I have to hand it to you, "Awesome job" on sticking with it and working hard... really hard! Hopefully I will be there by next year, maybe!!! I love Muscle Endurance. It reminds me a lot of Bodypump at the gym. Better go, just want to say "Good Job!"

Kristi-Thanks for the advice on running. I sure hope the surgery went okay for your DD. Ear infections are so painful! I will be thinking of you.
