Post-partum Check In 10/3

Hi ladies! This was my rest week and I my body needed it. It took me three weeks to lose 1 pound during my Slow & Heavy rotation, but I lost 2 pounds over the last week. Guess my body was a little overworked. :)

Jordan is doing well… his sleeping habits could improve… but he is thriving. Sydney has bronchitis/possible pneumonia (she is being treated presumptively for pneumonia). This is really the first illness in her life… she has had a few colds and one ear infection when she was a baby… not bad. DH and I had the opportunity to view Sydney in gymnastics and dance this week… it was entertaining. :)

I dug out some of my first cardio videos for the week. It was fun taking a trip back in time. The ballet videos and pilates must have challenged my lower body and core, because I was sore this week.

This past week was so crazy that I was unable to do ANYTHING....I figured it was good to take a week off and I've already jumped back into my workouts. I think I also lost a pound or 2 last week Autumn.....WE WILL LOSE THIS BABY WEIGHT!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ladies -
This is my first post in post-partum check-in! I started workouts two days before my 6-week mark (a week ago Saturday) but I was walking with Nora in the stroller since the 4th week, using that to gradually get back into exercise. There are some good hills in our neighborhood which helped. I've been using Cathe's beginner/intermediate workouts to get back into it and to make sure my feet are ready for higher impact:

Sat(10/2): Basic Step w/ upper, lower & abs add-ons
Sun: Basic Step w/ lower body from High Step Circuit
Mon: Body Fusion w/ abs add-on
Tue: High Step Circuit
Wed: Kari Anderson's Angles Lines Curves
Thu: Baby Yoga
Fri: Body Fusion w/ abs add-on
Sat: off

On nice days, I walk with Nora in the Zooper which takes 40-50mins, depending on the route. I hope my abs bounce back quickly. After being able to do all that core training with Cathe's IS I'm shocked at the level I'm at now.:eek: I don't have a scale at home (always used my clothes as a gauge) and my first post-partum doctor check-up is tomorrow. I've lost some pounds but still have more to lose...I just don't know how much yet! By the way, the Baby Yoga class is mostly a nice gentle yoga (good for post-partum) with 10mins of Yoga with the baby. It was a pre-natal Yoga class but all of us who attended have now had our babies so our instructor changed it to Baby Yoga.

Autumn - I hope Sydney is feeling better.
I'm loving Motherhood! Nora is so much fun!

Yes Jessi, we WILL lose this weight... but it won't be soon enough for me. :) I don't want to buy new clothes for the winter. I guess I will mostly be seen in sweats. ;) That won't be appropriate for church though.

HI DIANA it is great to "see" you! Welcome to the post-partum check-in. You are off to a great start with your workouts. Especially post-c/section. Sydney is actually doing well... she still plays (running, bouncing, etc.)... she just tires and rests then is right back at it. It can be so difficult to know "how" sick a child is because they are so resilient. Thank you for the well wishes!

We haven't had time to post more recent pictures yet. She's 7 weeks old now and growing more beautiful each day (I'm a proud mom, too!!).
It's so good to be working out again. I don't want to buy transition clothes for winter either so I hope to drop the rest of the weight quickly!

Thank you! Nora is just GORGEOUS!!!!! You should be a proud mom. I like the Peek-A-Boo shot.

I have an online album that I haven't updated either. I would share the link here on the forum, but there are naked shots.

The weight thing is frustrating. This is what I get for gaining 47 pounds. Next time... if i am blessed with a next time... I will try to be better with the weight.
