Fellow Cathe Exercisers,
Any advise for easing back into Cathe workouts after breast augmentation surgery?

I am 14 days post surgery and doing great. My surgery was not dramatic just a little post- child freshening. I have been told I can resume exercise after 3 weeks except for upper body weight training and push ups which I should not resume until week 7.

Do any of you have any advise based on experience? I don't want to do too much too soon but am itching to get moving again. Does the timeline above sound about right?

Thanks.
KC:)

Wait!!!! Don't start back now even though you are feeling great! Starting back could cause a blood clot which could be deadly. Even though you feel fine, your internals are working extremely hard to recover from the surgery. I know it doesn't feel like it, but your body is working very hard so you need to rest.

I had to wait 4 weeks and had to keep my HR low. I had to wait 6 weeks before weight training. I waited longer to do chest work but that was a personal preference.

Just rest! I know your antsy but you HAVE to rest!

If you must, go for VERY EASY walks and keep the heart rate low.

I know that my neighbor had to wait a minimum of 8 wks to do any upper body training or cardio training after her BA surgery.

KC,

Congrats on your BA surgery!!! Glad to hear that you are feeling good enough to workout already, however I would advise you to follow your Doctor's advice regarding when to resume exercise. I had to wait 4 weeks to get back into cardio, and 6 weeks before any weight training.

Your body is trying to heal right now so I would just sit back and enjoy the healing time, and just consider it an extended rest month..lol! I got started back to cardio a bit too early and had some complications as a result, the issues have since resolved but it did create a lot of stress and depression during my recovery period..not to mention I had to quit working out totally for about 4 extended weeks on top of the 4 regular weeks.

I would suggest taking light walks 2 times per day..I know it is hard but it is way worth it in the end! Just keep your diet clean during your recovery period and you will be fine.

When I got started back to Cathe workouts I started with:

High Step Challenge
Cardio&Weights
Cardio Kicks
Low Max
Legs and glutes

My very first post-op exercise was walking outside and working out on my Elliptical Machine and leg workouts, I did not get back to any cardio workouts with Cathe until about week 6-8.

Glad to see another sister on the forums, there are several of us on here and we are all here to support you in any way that we can.

:)

Hi KC. Congrats! I was told 4-6 weeks as well. Listen to your doc and then listen to your body when you resume your work outs. It will take some time, but you will be back to doing your regular work outs before you know it! I started walking at about 10 days post. Started out slow and progressively picked up the pace. I did this almost every day until I was cleared to do my normal work outs again. FYI: I was working out to the Firm at the time. :)

Take care of those new friends you got there!;-)

Thanks to you all for your input. I really appreciate your guidance.

It is tough to stand on the sidelines but so far this has been a pretty good experience. I certainly don't want to do anything now to jeapordize my progress.

I am going to take advantage of the opportunity to sleep an extra hour and half every day! YEAH!

Thanks again!
KC

Thanks for this link. I have been on the Inamed site. They are the manufacturer of the inplants I selected, but additional information is always helpful.
