pom pom + larger dog = overprotective mom!!

Our rescue dog is about 30 pounds and our new pomeranian pup is about 6.5 lbs at 5 1/2 months old. They get along great and want to play together... but I'm nervous that my larger dog, Midnight, will trample the little guy. So I'm constantly hovering, putting a damper on their fun. So if there are any pomeranian experts out there, are these little dogs pretty good at the rough-n-tumble stuff... or do I need to treat him like he's porcelain???

I raise and show poms, I currently got two puppies earlier this year and my 3 year old pom would play very rough with her but she held her own and you would be surprised, the puppy instigated the playing and she would back off when it got to rough, I would just watch and see how they play at 6 1/2 pounds is a pretty good size for a pom, in my opinion your pom will get to be about 8 pounds not sure though but 6 1/2 at 5 months old is very big. but just watch how they play. they should do ok together.

Thanks. I've never had a pom before, and he's a riot. He doesn't really run.... it's like he does this hop/leap thing. He's just the cutest thing.... really likes to snooze on a lap, too.
