Okay, I couldn't put oven cleaner in the subject, I was afraid I wouldn't get a response :p
Anyway, the question really is about oven cleaner. Can I use it on a self-clean oven? I hate using self-clean on my oven, it stinks up my whole house.
Thanks
Sherry:)

There's an oven cleaner you can buy that's made for self-cleaning ovens. Can't think of the name of it but it should be in your local grocer.

I use Easy-Off Max and it says on the can that is is safe for self-cleaning oven.. I used it on mine and it was fine, just make sure it states it is safe for it. Or you can use a regular kind but just don't turn on the self cleaning part of your oven.

I used to clean peoples homes. Buy the yellow can of easy off. DO NOT turn the oven on like the can says. Lay paper towels under the edge of the oven on the floor. Spray the heck out of the inside and close the oven door. Let sit for about 30 minutes. Open and wipe clean w/ paper towels. If you have a really crusty spot, scrub then wipe. Works very time.

I don't have an answer to your oven-cleaning question, but I think you'd get a better response by putting 'oven cleaner question' in your topic. Maybe it's just me, but I'm less apt to read unclear topics, especially if I'm in a hurry (and if they look like the subject line of some spam emails!);-)
