Please Pass the Hot Chocolate!!!

BelovedHeather

Cathlete
Brrr! I am freezing my butt off this morning. It was in the 80s yesterday, and it is in the low 30s here this morning. Freezing in November! Unbelievable! It is not even winter yet. I do not have a coat. I gave my only coat to the women’s shelter last year and have not thought about needing one this year. I have not even needed a jacket or sweater yet. Does sprinting to my car count as a workout? I took a warm bath and did the Drill Max scrambled cardio blast premix to stay warm this morning. It is time to brave the cold as soon as I figure out what to wear. How on earth do you Northern girls deal with this? I just want to curl up with my favorite blanket and a big cup of hot chocolate. I hope the icy stuff stays in Northern Texas because I hate driving on icy roads. Can you tell that I am not a winter girl? Please send a big box of sunshine with that hot chocolate! :)

Michele, can you find some pictures of a tropical paradise for me?! :7 At least I can dream about warmer days. ;-)

Oh, is my mind frozen this morning or did Cathe leave the squat thrusts out of the Drill Max scrambled cardio blast premix?

Blessings,
Heather B.

That’s it! I am skipping work and heading to the airport! ;-)

Thanks for the sunshine! :7

RE: Tropical Paradise!!!

Hey Heather- I know you are somewhere in Texas too! Here in Houston we can still be in shorts & tanks until about 2pm when the frigid temps hit! LOL- I am getting ready to hibernate this afternoon myself.... I bought 4 boxes of Swiss Miss Diet Hot Chocolate at store Monday in preparation! Dallas is suppose to have ice storms but hopefully it wontcome this far south. You be careful if you have to be out and about driving.
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:7

RE: Tropical Paradise!!!

Heather, I'd tell you to fly up here and sit by my woodstove but the weather is playing tricks and it's going to be 65 degrees in CT today! Bummer, I like the cold!

Stay warm! Sparrow

RE: Tropical Paradise!!!

Alpine makes a great SF Hot Apple Cider mix as well!!! I stock up on that as well as the Diet Swiss Miss!!

You can visit Florida, it's still 70 degrees here this morning!

Winter Weather!!!

Traci, I am in Central Texas! Get ready! It is drizzling now. Hopefully, the roads are still warm enough that it will not stick. The bridges will be slippery though.

Sparrow, I will gladly trade weather with you!

Amy, I am on the way to Florida!

I need to get dressed and out the door!

Blessings,
Heather B.

RE: Winter Weather!!!

Brrrr.....we are supposed to get up to 12" of snow today here in IL.

We get used to it, just like you have to get used to blazing hot, humid summers. I would not like that! Besides that - as you stated, you can put on a coat, but in the summer you can only take off so many clothes!

I am in Fort Sam Houston (San Antonio) Texas and I know what you mean. Yesterday was in the 80's and wearing shorts and this morning was in the thirties. I had to find the kids coats, hats, and gloves to take my daughter to school. The weather here in Texas is so funny. 80's on minute then 30's the next. I actually like the cold because the heat here is unbearable sometimes.

Heather,

We have had 2 days of arctic cold here in Montana! Yesterday's high was 5 above and low was 14 below! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Today it is 2 above this morning, but we're supposed to get up to 20!

Thanks for the tropical pictures......really warmed me up!

I feel the same way! It was in the 80's here in S. Texas until about 30 min ago when an artic front started to blow in! yikes! I really dislike cold weather. I dont know how everyone up north does it! This morning was my first attempt at LIC. I am going to have to work on the cardio. Unfortunately, I am still working on learning Cathe's cardio, but I will not give up!!!!

Edie it is good to see that I am not the only Montanan on the boards. It has been frigid here. We had a high of 11 yesterday. Supposed to be 26 today. That will feel like a heat wave!!! I too loved the tropical pics. Makes me want to call the travel agent!!!!
Everybody, be careful on the roads today.
Heather

Warm at Home Tonight!!!

I made it through this cold day, and I am so thankful to be in my warm home again. I got by with a warm sweater today. I hate wearing a coat. I feel too restrained when I am all bundled up in winter clothes, and nothing I wear really keeps me warm. I just shiver inside the layers of clothes. Cakebaker, I would much rather deal with the Texas heat. Even with as much fat as I am still carrying on my body, I have a very low tolerance for cold. It is not usually humid where I live. Houston is humid, but not Central Texas. I have visited cities in Tennessee and on the East Coast that are far more humid even though the temperatures do not get as high. I prefer hot Texas summers over these cold and dreary winter days. The good news is that the cold winter season is mercifully short here. :)

Kathy, are you snowed in tonight?

Michele, I knew that I could count on you. Thank you for the tropical paradise pictures. I would love to go there! :7

Toni, are you from Texas? I am just wondering since you are a military wife and like the cold weather.

It is good to know that I did not freeze alone today. Edie and Heather, I definitely cannot complain about the weather in Texas after reading about the temperatures in Montana. I would love to visit your home state someday. I have heard that it is breathtakingly beautiful up there. I love wide open spaces.

Luvmylabs, has it warmed up in California yet?

Sherry, I am glad you are not giving up on Cathe’s cardio workouts. Her step choreography is so much fun! :7 Hang in there, and keep practicing. You will get it soon. It may help you to break the workout into smaller segments and focus on learning one combination a day.

I kept it clean today and drank Bengal Spice herb tea instead of hot chocolate. :9

Blessings,
Heather B.

RE: Warm at Home Tonight!!!

Heather,

No I am not from Texas but I almost might say I am soon since I have been in Texas since Jan. 2000. I am an Army brat, was in the Army myself, and married my husband who is in the Army. I have known nothing but Army since I was 2. I mostly lived in Ohio and Kentucky. Also lived in Germany, North Carolina, and New Mexico. I went to AIT in San Antonio, got stationed in Fort Hood, TX. I got out of the Army there but married my husband there (we met in Ft. Sam and started dating and both got stationed in Ft. Hood). We were in Ft. Hood from Jan. 2000 until May of this year and got stationed back here at Ft. Sam. My parents from Ohio moved down here 2 months ago and my sister from NC just moved here a month ago or so. We are trying to get my brother here. I don't know why I just went on a tangent when all you asked was if I am from Texas. Sorry, I am known to talk. I do like Texas but I do miss the snow sometimes (playing in it, not shoveling it or driving in it!!!). Where in Texas do you live?

RE: Warm at Home Tonight!!!

Hi Heather..

it warms up a bit during the daytime hours, but lately at night it has been kind of cold here, I had to turn on my heat last night!! It is so weird here in southern california.. when I go home to see my mom in Tenn. in the winter the grass always dies, it is ugly and brown, here in San Diego even when there is a frost warning (like last night) the grass never dies!! I also told my daughter that we should be happy we are not up in the northern states where they get plenty of snow and below freezing temps..!! We are navy and have been in California for 2 years, before that we were in Puerto Rico, and boy it was weird wearing shorts and sandals for Christmas, it just did not feel right!!
