I am at my wits end and I would get help from a dietitian but my dh is between jobs and $$ is no where to be found for this sooo I turn to you, my friends in fitness because you are sooo smart.

I have told my story here before but now things are different and I would like help from those that are experienced with this problem since everyone is different some people are just naturally thinner than others (me).

I am 33, 5'1" and now 128 pounds. I lost weight years ago and got down to 120. I have gained weight I guess from not watching every thing I put in my mouth. It is not from lack of exercise, I think I have that covered. Cardio and weights, changing intensity, etc...

I do have a job where I sit all day.

I can not get this weight off and I have been really trying. I got my metabolism measure at it measured at 1150 doing nothing. I feel like that is so low. Do you think I just have a slow metabolism genetically or am I not eating enough? I try to shoot for 1300-1400 on the weekdays (spaced 5-6 meals) and eat 2 splurge meals on the weekends. BELIEVE ME -it is not from underestimating my calorie intake. I know every calorie in every food, I have read every book yada, yada, yada....

So, what is your experience? Should I try eating more and how much to lose to a comfortable 118? OR
Should I rely on the science of it all and use the number of my BMR, 1150 plus activity = Which is ? 500 calories more? Stay under that to save 3500 calories per week? AND can I eat low calories Mon-Fri and higher on Sat and Sun, will that work?

See????? I am so confused. I hope I made sense and I sincerely thank anyone for helping me.

I sympathize with your frustration!

What did you do to lose the weight last time? Anything specific?

Have you tried changing things up- diet or exercise? New rotations?

Could 128 be a good weight for you- is your body fat/weight maybe too low at 118?

I don't think that's low at all. And yes, you should base it on your activity level but if you desire to lose, subtract a few hundred calories per day.
Here's a dietitian website that may help. http://www.dietitian.com/ibw/ibw.html 128 is not a bad number but you are petitie so a few pounds less is fine. I think your metabolism is normal and if you really focus on your diet, you'll drop a few pounds with no trouble.

Remember to eat plenty of fiber, complex carbs, lean protein and good fats. Combine carbs, fat and protein in the same meal to satisfy your appetite. Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables. And relax, you are fit and your weight is well within the healthy range for your height! Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

Take the advice from Bobbi but I'll just advise you to eat your lower calorie days on Sun. thru Tues. Use Wed. & Sat. as your higher calorie days. By calorie staggering you'll derive more #s being lost. Switch things around a little bit in your workout rotation; take your measurements before doing any of this & in a month's time check back w/your measurements to see how you progressed all the while jotting down everything you eat & drink. I'm going through the same thing you are. I'm 5'2", 140 lbs. (I can't believe I actually typed that.) I haven't been able to budge from this weight in 3 years despite doing Cathe religiously 5-6 times a week and watching what I eat. I tried Weight Watchers, Nutri System, South Beach, etc. Nothing helped. My sister (size 4, no exercise) picked up my food journal one day and said, "I'd kill myself." I wanted to say, "but I can do Imax 2 with no modifications," but she wouldn't have gotten it. It's all relative. I finally decided that I'm going to concentrate more on being healthy and less on appearance, but it would sure be nice to drop a size or two. It's discouraging. I'll be anxiously reading the responses you get and wish you best of luck. I know what you're going through.
