Please explain muscle failure I got w/GS Chest & Triceps?

-I know what it feels like for my muscles to NOT be able to lift a certain wt. I know when that happens, that I need to lower the weight.

-And, I know what it feels like to work my muscle so hard, that I feel a deep BURN while doing the movement. I can feel that the muscle is fatiguing, way beforehand.

But what is this that I'm feeling in Gym Style Chest & Triceps (the Chest segment)? I can't explain it-

I didn't feel any burn. Nor did I "feel" tired. Nor did I get a sweat going (as I do with Slow & Heavy). I did reduce wts a few times, as I do everytime I try a Cathe dvd for the first time. But, I never really felt I was getting a super hard workout...at least, while I was working out. Then, all of a sudden, I went to try one more rep....and NOTHING. I couldn't do it. I can't explain it. I wasn't sore. It's like I just hit a wall or something. My muscles were totally mush.

So, what do you call this, when your muscles just give out, w/o your feeling "sore" or "overly worked out". ? And how is this going to affect my muscles differently vs the "burn" I feel with the S&H and PS series?

I found the tricep w/o to be similar but not as severe with the muscle fatigue (my triceps are pretty ripped, whereas my chest muscle strength is pretty pathetic. lol).

Overall, I really really liked GS Back & Biceps. I didn't care for GS Legs. And I don't know what to make of Chest & Triceps -- it's an interesting feeling. I liked the exercises, but am not sure what they're going to do for my upper body, compared to the other dvds. The only negative on Chest for me was the gazillion pushups Cathe has in this series' opening -- they made me cringe. LOL
 
Occasionally that happens to me and I don't know why. Especially with triceps. I may not have any shakes or feel any fatigue but that weight just will not go up one more time!

The same thing happens to me with GS C&T during the cross over tricep extensions. Your triceps get plenty of work during the chest work all of those push ups and bench presses. So by the time you get to the actual tricep work they've already had a good w/o. I think you don't feel it so much cause you're indirectly working the triceps with all the chest work and then all of the sudden you hit muscle failure.

Well, I can certainly tell those muscles got worked out today! wow wow wow!! My triceps are pretty sore, and that's rarely happened to me when working them out. The outer part of my chest is kind of sore too, so I guess those flies did their job. :D Considering that I felt the chest workout was super tough for me, I'm kinda fearing what my chest will feel like by tonight. :eek: Sometimes, the 2nd day is worse than the first, for me.

So far, I'm really liking GS Back/Biceps & Chest/Triceps. I think I'll give GS Legs another go, today. Maybe I should skip my cardio, and just do Legs, so that I can give it my full 100%? I'm hoping I'll like it, this time around.
