I believe Cathe even says somewhere during the workout that You can use dumbells to change the feel of the exercise. Hey, I say use what you have and make it work for you!!

I use dumbbells also. Since Cathe doesn't stretch much inbetween sets, while they are changing their plates, I can use that time to stretch. I also feel like I can complete the workout a lot better with dumbbells. When I use the bar I am really struggling with not getting to stretch and moving so quickly with changing those plates. I have a complete bar bell set for this workout, but I plan to use dumbbells for it from now on.
