PLB ball floorwork?

Did PLB this morning, and again, love the burn with the floorwork and the ball. Especially the hamstring/glute work. (This goes for GS legs also) Anyway.....this is a great burn and feels like a great workout, but how does it compare to the weight-bearing exercises like squats, lunges, etc. Just curious, because in order for me to get that kind of burn with squats, lunges, etc, I have to go really heavy and low reps. Are we really building muscle with the floor work, or just getting a good burn???

I think floor work is more about shaping the muscles and some endurance work rather than muscle building.

I would never do away with squats and lunges. They are the mainstay of a total body strength training plan because they work all the m ajor muscle groups and squats are the graddaddy of lower body exercises since it is considered a compound move, it works glutes, quads and hams all at once.

I dare you to try leaner Legs (high rep endurance workout) with a 35 or 40 pound barbell and not feel the burn! THis is how it got its nickname, Meaner Legs!!!
