Playing DVDs on hi-def TVs

NY25

Cathlete
Hi, all -
I am a late-comer to the whole hi-def tv thing, and finally upgraded. Now I notice that when I play my Cathe DVDs, they look grainy and not sharp. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there something I need to change in my settings on a machine somewhere? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm no techie, but were the DVDs you're playing filmed in HD? If not, they will look kind of grainy, like you're watching on an old TV. Cathe's newer workouts (I think the 4 set series with High Reps and everything afterward) have been filmed in HD, so maybe try one of those and see how it looks? If those also look grainy, well, we've exhausted my expertise and hopefully somebody else can help.

I have a new 36" flat screen TV and Blu Ray player: noticed that the image looks better on the newer releases, from LIS onwards. Older DVDs fit the screen differently. Not a biggie, since once you know the workout, you aren't fixated on the screen and the minutiae of Cathe's movements anyway.

That's what I figured. It just seems the newer ones are not as crystal clear as I expected them to be. Oh, well - no biggie.
