Plateaus

Hi guys :)
Just wanted to share this with you, I found it useful (mentally) when frustrated over hitting a plateau.

"Plateaus are normal and necessary. This is when the body readjusts to all the changes it has been going through. This is when the metabolism begins to stabilize. If you keep eating sufficient calories without deprivation, you will quicken your metabolism and your body will let go of excess water and fat!
During a plateau, the skin gently shrinks back to a smaller size.
Plateaus are a good time for adjusting mental mindsets to gain permanence.

So keep doing what is good for a healthy lifestyle and the results will come!"

Donna, I liked what I read in your thread about plateaus, and went to the workoutsforwomen website. Is it a good program? I am assuming since they sent you info that you belong. Is their advice and program good? How do you coordinate their exercises with Cathe's tapes? Do you get your money's worth? Is it individualized enough? For example, as a lifter age 59, breast cancer surviver, I try to tailor what I do to who I am and not use a cookiecutter approach to my lifting. Would their program take my age and perhaps my condition into account? (These questions are only valid if you actually belong, I realize)

If nothing else, thanks for the plateau statement. it was helpful for me to hear that.

Hi Artmaker,

I don't "belong" as a paying member of the site, I am a member of their forum and "March Madness" plan they have going. It seems like a wonderful site, I haven't investigated enough about them yet to invest $, but I found their forum, and lurked for a while and one day they sent me an email inviting me to join their "March Madness" plan so I said "sure" and check in everyday to report my progress (eating/exercise/whatever), and they send a daily email with info such as the plateau statement which was very helpful to me emotionally.
But check them out, then you can tell all of us about it :)

Exactly, Donna. It is the body's plan to always adapt which is why we are such survivors and why it's necessry to mix it up! Keeps things exciting. "Variety is the spice of life. Even babies like a change." HeHe. Sorry I couldn't resist that corny joke!
