Pit bull attacked

Wished I hadn't seen that, now I'll have that in my mind all the time. I'm crying and can't get over how inhumane people can be.

I'm sorry to upset you, Janie. I do think people need to be aware that it's not just Michael V(D)ick. This stuff happens every day. I just saw an update about her on the news and she is going to be fine. The knife did not hit her brain.

I would like to find the person who did this and stick a knife in their head...except I woudl make sure I got it in deep enough!

Lori,

It will upset anyone who sees this. You will most likely get all kinds of messages about this. All I can say, is that is a reminder on how cruel people can be.

I did look at the video and saw that she is doing fine. I wonder what her life will be like now after such an awful experience? Will she still like humans.?. She's still young and most likely very forgiving. It makes me want to take her home and just project all kinds of love to her, petting, scratching her tummy, hugs, and lots of kisses and treats. Poor thing.

Unfortunately, Janie, she will probably love and implicitly trust all humans because that is a dog's nature. I say "unfortunately" because she would probably still be kind to her owner. :(

I hope since she has been on the news that someone will step forward and give her the love and home she deserves.

I did not watch the video. I am too sensitive to that sort of stuff and it would probably bring tears to my eyes. People are so cruel.

Jaque,

The good news is that the dog is going to be fine. They showed her on tv just a bit ago and said she is going to make a full recovery.

After reading all the posts, I'm afaid to link to the actual story. It's so upsetting to me when people harm animals. They're so helpless and innocent.

I didn't look at the link because I didn't want to see the dog with a knife in her head, but I did search it and read about her case. Here is a picture of her after the knife was removed. Isn't she just adorable! I love those ears. :) I hope they find her a wonderful home.

(hope the link works)

DeeDee,

She IS beautiful! I am so thankful that she is going to make a full recovery. I pray they find the person (are they really a person?) who did that to her.

Lorie,

Thank you for sharing this. I agree with your original sentiment completely.

What is WRONG with people? They abuse their dogs (or allow others to do so), then the dog lashes out and we get "Pitbull Attacks a Child" headlines all over the place.

You know, my sister was bit by a freakin' Yorkie (no offense to any Yorkie owners!). Drew blood, 3 stitches. If that had been a pitbull, all hell would have broken loose.

Ok..I am off on a tangent now.

Anyways, thank you for sharing that article.

I can't watch the video. That would be too much. I will go home and hug my fuzzy face friend whom I now miss.

Yes this is horrible, but to say you hate people...in general??? Isn't that like those who say that pit bulls- in general- are vicious?

I read in the news today a horse was struck in the head by a tobacco machete. LUCKILY it did not hit her brain or any of her nerves. She's making a full recovery as well. I don't get why people do these things.

I have a pit bull myself and she's a total sweetheart. Only barked ONCE but grunts like a pig often. :)

Lala,

Of course, I don't hate people. I have built my career on helping people (I am a psychologist). I said it in an ironic-tongue-in-cheek kind of way. Anyone who knows me knows I care very deeply for people, just not those that abuse animals.

Of course you don't Lorie! I love animals like you do, I would run my own rescue for animals if my DH would let me do it!
I waited to post, because after seeing this pic, I just couldn't bring myself to even comment on the cruelty. It touches a place inside you, a place where you don't even have words for such a despicable act.

It is the same way when you hear about a child getting abused/murdered. Animals, the elderly and children are the innocents and should be protected and cherished. Do you know what I mean? Its our responsibility as decent human beings to help protect.
