Hello everyone--
I have never done pilates before, but I LOVE all my Cathe DVD's. Any suggestions for good pilates DVD's? Also, I would love Cathe to do a pilates workout sometime in the future.:)

Has anyone bought those windsor pilates? I've never done pilates either but those kind of interested me.

If you do a search, there are a TON of threads on pilates. Should give you lots of help!

I've had the windsor pilates (20 min beginner and 45 min advanced) for a while now. I find that I don't use it very often but when I do I can definately feel it! She's easy to follow and there's an instructional section to make sure you've got good form. I have arthritis in my neck and there's a person doing modifications for neck and back issues. I've seen it at Target for pretty cheap.

There have been a few recommendations for the mtv pilates, which I bought and liked. But if you have never done pilates before, I would recommend getting the Pilates Beginning Mat workout by Gaiam with Anna Caban - it is a very good first introduction to pilates. It is slow paced and gives a lot of explanation. I now take mat pilates classes and it definately helped me understand what they were doing. I hope this link works - I got this video at Target.

Others have recommended Stott (?spelling) pilates as being good, but I don't have any of those videos so I couldn't say.

I didn't love the pilates at first and now enjoy it - I've noticed that cathe does do some pilates style moves in her abs sections of her videos. Also, core max is great for getting your core toned and it definately helped me in doing pilates.

Good luck.

I do pilates on a recovery day or as an evening add on. I prefer yoga to pilates.

I've been through a bunch of pilates DVDs, the ones I kept and did not sell were:
Windsor - Accelerated Body Sculpting, Ab sculpting and Advanced Body slimming
Rael Pilates 27
Lots of folks like Stott - but I found that Stott moved to slowly and I got bored.

Hi -

I just wanted to jump in to say that I found a website where you can rent workout DVD's to see if you like them. It is at www.flicketyfit.com - I haven't used them and when I went to the site, it wasn't really easy to do a search. But I did see the Stott Pilates that is mentioned, and thought that might be an option for you. Just wanted to share!
