Pilates: I had to choke back the laughter

Cinza or anyone who does Pilates will appreciate this . . .

I had a lady come to my Pilates mat class because she heard it was good for spinal flexibility. "Great, you're in the right place," I thought. So before class I was trying to find out about her injuries/limitations since we had never met. She has a 14-inch steel rod in her back. LOL!!! I may be strong, but I haven't yet learned how to bend a steel rod into a "c-shaped" spine!!!!!!!

She liked the class and is coming back?!?!?!?

I've never had to think so fast on my feet (or in this case, glutes) in my life.

I guess I should thank my Maker for challenges because they exercise my brain!!!!

I'm amazed. This is a stupid question I'm sure but is she doing Pilates with a straight back? Does she have any curve at all? She's a brave lady and you must be an extremely good instructor.

She has mobility in the cervical area. I wound up doing a very long leg series (which she liked) and had her just balancing when we did the exercises where you roll like a ball. She had to do regular situps instead of roll ups. She was able to to anything like a plank perfectly!!!! (why not?)

I need a to do a little research on this. Any suggestions of a website to look at???
