personal question, sorry!

Maybe I'm the odd woman in here, but I get my cycles every 22 days or so now that I'm working out like a maniac (you should spend a day with me to see that's true) and eating healthier for more than a year now. Before that, it used to be every 30 days or so and the symptoms were absolutely debilitating. Exercise has helped me with my symptoms. I do mostly Cathe, but I also exercise outdoors, and I practice yoga once or twice a week. I've read that if your body fat percentage gets too low you can get amenorrhea. I was a runner in my late teens and I got my period only a couple of times per year, but I don't think I was too skinny back then (probably about 10lbs lighter than what I am now) so I wonder what was the cause exactly.

I've pm'd both Jen and Doreen this information, but it seems like quite a broad spectrum of us are experiencing this kind of issue so I'll just quickly post the link to the information that led me to the practitioner who helped me to get my period back---I won't burden you with the long story, lol:) If anyone has any questions just email or pm me to let me know and I'll be more than happy to answer what I can.

Hi!

I was diagnosed with Amenorrhea/F.A.T. in 2005. It has been a very long and hard road that I have traveled and it hasn’t been easy physically or emotionally.

One thing you can begin to do is google Amenorrhea and F.A.T. (female athlete triad) you will be directed to an enormous amount of information..

I wish you the best of luck and good health.

Hi Jen,

You didn't say your age, but you look pretty young. I think that I'd be concerned, if only for child bearing in the future. I would assume you probably aren't ovulating, but maybe you are and the other part of cycle isn't working properly. I think I'd follow up on the suggestions and maybe get a second opinion. I know that my gyn would not let something like that go without seriously looking into possible causes.
