Period while breastfeeding?

Hi everyone. I'm 6 weeks pp with DD #1. I stopped bleeding completely about 5-6 days ago. I had my 6 week appt on Wednesday. Yesterday and today, it seems like I have a period? I am breastfeeding (I pump 5x a day..baby didn't do well on the breast). Is this most likely a period? Dr. said everything looked great on Wednesday.

If you are only 6 weeks postpartum my guess is that some of the loccia resumed.
I found it stopped and restarted.
 
I had the same thing happen to me. I was nursing on demand, which was every two hours and then she would make it four to six hours at night and I started my period at 6 weeks post partum and have been every four weeks every since. I hope that you are luckier and have a little bit longer break!
 
For your sake I hope your period isn't resuming. YUCK!

With my first I did start bleeding again a few weeks later, but it ended quickly and I didn't resume a period until I weaned around 16 months except for a couple times when I was under stress. With my second I did have a couple periods during times of stress again...strange how my body works...but didn't fully resume my period again until my BFing had deminished and then I got preggo again so I only had one...whoo hoo!! Love the no period thing.
