Perfect pot-luck/cookie party recipe!!!!!

I saw the other post about the oreo balls and I just had to share this one b/c I noticed that alot of you had parties and pot lucks to go to in the upcoming weeks. I thought I would start a thread just for easy recipes for variety b/c I know that I have a TON of parties and things to make goodies for and I get tired of the same old thing (and people tell me not to bother bringing a "healthier" dessert b/c they want to indulge this time of year instead of diet!) I was watching the food network before Thanksgiving and Paula Deen (my favorite) made these pumpkin gooey butter cakes and they looked so yummy and easy so I made them for Thanksgiving to take to my grandmother-in-law's house. Everyone had a fit over them and asked for the recipe!!!! They are so yummy and gooey and you can make any kind, she just suggested pumpkin for the holidays!!!! Here's a link to the recipe:

I sat them out with a bowl of that new French Vanilla flavored Cool Whip----whewiiiiieeeeee were they good!!}( }( }(

Edited to add: I will definitely be trying those oreo balls this year--they sound so easy and delicious!!!

Well, Ashley...I guess I'll HAVE to make them because I have been wanting to give that new French Vanilla Cool Whip a try anyway. Double whammy! Thanks for sharing.

Oh Ashley, these look delicious!! I like Paula Deen too! If you or anyone you know is a chocolate lover, her recipe for Double Chocolate Gooey Butter Cakes is sinful (and soooo easy)... all the chocolate lovers I know that have tried it gave it two thumbs up! The Wilmington Island Marsh Mud Cake is good too.

Thanks for posting!

I'm definitely down for the double chocolate gooeys!!!!! I love Paula but I never get to make her recipes because they ALWAYS start with "a stick of butter"!!! (and usually have more after that!) The vanilla cool whip tastes like ice cream--I can eat it by itself!:9

I have made the pumpkin butter gooey cakes twice and they are absolutely delicious and so easy to make. I am going to try the peanut butter one for Christmas, and of course make the pumpkin ones again.

Does anybody have the double chocolate gooey cake recipe? I haven't seen that one.

Thanks,
Lori

Lori,

Here is the link... it takes a litte bit to open the page... could be my connection. If it doesn't work, I'll email you the recipe. I guess I could post it as long as I credit the source????

I think this is absolutley fabulous... even my non-chocolate loving friends and mother can't stop at one serving.

Ashely, you are soooo right about "a stick of butter"!!! (and usually have more after that!). ;)

Enjoy!

I am making these for sure!! Did ya'll see the brownies she made recently with the layer of brown sugar and butter on the top?? My mom told me about those and they sounded delicious!
