Good morning,

Today I did KCM's Body Shop #1. Good total body workout, with some new compound moves that I have never seen before.

Valerie, we bought a nice Weber grill ( I think Lori just bought one too), and John just came home with Easy off Grill cleaner the other day. He constantly takes the grates off and into the basement to clean. He thinks this stuff is the best he has used so far. Other than that, not sure what else would be good to know.

It rained here most of last night, and this morning, but we really needed it so I was ok. ( also gave me an excuse not to weed the garden..;))...

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Good morning ladies! Anothe beautiful morning here. Chester an I went for another early morning walk and swim. We came across a plastic swan and chester was very confused. Was pretty funny to watch.

DH is planning to use our grill today for the first time. Deb is correct we did buy a weber. Little pricey but we are told it will be worth it. DH bought the easy off grill cleaner but have not used it yet. We will let you know.

Yesterday I did not do Ride. Instead I put together my own compilation of Cathe's kickbox workouts using workout blender. Ended up being 76 minutes long and kicked my butt! :). Was a little of kpc, 4ds, cross train and cardio kicks. I took all my favorites from these and put it into one dvd. I m loving workout blender and I am happy I decided to add on the downloads with her new workouts.

Deb...great job on your workout this morning!

Have a great day all!

Hi Deb, Lori, and any later posters--

I did STS disk 22 for ch, sh, tris (43 min.). I'm so glad this one is short. It's very hot and sticky here. I did manage to take Max for a walk yesterday evening and came home a sweaty mess. I like hot weather, but it takes me awhile to acclimate myself to this. It was in the 90s yesterday and is currently 87, but it's supposed to go down this evening.

Lori, great picture of Chester! Reminds me of one of my former dogs who bristled at a ceramic sheep in FIL's yard (he was a wool salesman). Paddy went up to it ready for a fight and then seemed somewhat embarrassed when he realized it wasn't alive.

We have a big Weber gas grill too. DH and I just scrape it off with one of those grill brushes rubbed with a bit of cooking oil on the theory that if you clean it constantly things are going to stick every time. DH's theory, not mine.

This is graduation weekend at the college. I'm so glad I did not choose to be in the procession. I probably would have fainted from the heat up on the dais. We have these very fancy robes and velvet hats representing out Ph.D. institutions and they can be really uncomfortable in this kind of weather.

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I did Ride in the morning. I like that workout more every time I do it! I'm looking forward to the next cycle workout from Cathe. I got a little cross training in yesterday too, as I mowed FIL's lawn.

This afternoon I did X-Train Bi's and Tri's with Core 2 and then a 45 minute Spinerval cycling workout.

Deb-Thanks for the tip on the barbell set. I’m going to look for the Troy Lite set this week. I found it on Amazon, but want to try to find one locally first.

Lori-Chester is a handsome boy! That’s a great photo too!
I’m going to have to look at the workout blender. That looks like something I might like.

Garance- I love hot weather too, but it is kind of hard going from one extreme to the other. It was very hot the last few days of the week through yesterday, but today it’s in the 60’s and going into the 40’s tonight.

Hi to Valerie and Josie-hope you had a great weekend!

Judy

Good morning,

Just finished 40 minutes of Cardio Coach #5....very tough workout, but fun.

Lori, love the pic of Chester and the swan..As for the workout blender..do you have all those workouts you used in Download format? That is how you have to do it right?

Garance, I bet you were happy that you are retired and were not obligated to attend that ceromony....

Judy, I got my Troy Lite set somewhere on the internet...not sure what the cost or the shipping was at the time, but am sure there are various sites that sell it...I think it had "Fitness" in the name...It's really worth it, so much easier to change weights, and the bar only weighs 5 pounds on its own...

Hi to Josie and Valerie ( vacationing yet?)...

Work, dog class tonight...hope everyone had a nice weekend...

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did Pure Spice (57 min.). I also took Max for a walk last night.

Yesterday at this time it was 87. Today it's 64. It's supposed to be in the low 70s this week, which will feel great, although I like it best in the high 70s. I guess your weather is coming our way, Judy.

Deb, I would have liked to hear Billie Jean King, the commencement speaker yesterday. Apparently she began by serving about 20 tennis balls into the crowd. Probably the best commencement "speech" I heard over the years was not a speech at all, but Yo Yo Ma playing his cello. But yeah, I couldn't have managed the heat up on stage yesterday.

Valerie--I bet you are on vacation.

Hi to Josie and Lori!

Good afternoon ladies!

What a nice weekend I had. Did so much around the house both inside and out. Next week we are opening the pool. Would have been nice to use this past weekend it was so hot in New England.

This morning I did Ride and plan on Disc 22 this evening then walk Chester. Garance I am also glad disc 22 is shorter than last weeks ch,sh and tris! What a difference in temp from yesterday to today!

Deb..I am going to look into that barbell set also. The weights I have I bought from walmart I think 15 years or so ago. The weights are held on by screwing a large bolt like holder. It is such a pain that I leave it at a set weight and when I need to quickly add plates I put them on without unscrewing the others and use scrunches to hold the added weights in place. So not safe at all!

For the workout blender you do need to have the downloads. I received a $50.00 Cathe Gift card for mothers day (after many hints :) ) and bought a few downloads. The older ones were inexpensive plus I received 20% off. So I did not mind purchasing even though I own the DVD's. That one workout I created was worth it to me! With all the punching, drills, kicks and squats I felt like it was a fun total body workout and no need to do Abs at all!

Judy...what other spin DVD's do you do?

Josie...went to do an Insanity workout then realize I left them at work! So I took a rest day Sunday :). (I still walked the dog though so not a complete rest day)

Hi to Valerie!

Hi Everyone,

Today was a long ride day. I did Spinervals "On The Road-Tempe Training Ride". It's almost 2 hours long. It's a virtual ride of part of the Ironman Arizona bike course. I rode 1:57 minutes, 35 miles. I had every intention of doing a core workout when I got home from work, but that didn't happen. Hopefully tomorrow..

Deb-that Troy set sounds great! I'll probably end up getting it from Amazon.

Garance-It was pretty cool here this morning, and it stayed in the 60's most of the day. I think it's supposed to be around 70 for the rest of the week.

Lori-Most of the spin workouts I do are using Spinervals Competition Series. They go from Timesavers of 30 minutes to the Hardcore 100, which is 5.5 hours. I've downloaded a couple of Sufferfest workouts too, but I didn't really care for those so I don't do them much.

Hi to Valerie and Josie!

Judy

Good morning,

A terrible night's sleep, not sure what was going on. It's going to be a long day.

Garance, we are getting crazy weather here too...cold yesterday, and again today high 40's in the morning, and only getting up to the high 50's during the day. Brrrr...I can't imagine serving tennis balls into a crowd as a commenment speach..?

Lori, doesn't it feel good to get a lot of stuff done around the house? I do the same thing with my barbell....just add weights on to the end without taking off the collar/thing...I usually only do it if I am adding a lighter weight, like up to 5 pounds each side. The nice thing about the Troy weights is that they have some type of plastic hard coating so they don't slip. I don't think I will get many downloads until I work out the details of using the iPad with the TV...all those cables etc....Apple makes a fortune on that and it bugs me.

Judy, do you have Amazon prime? I don't but I think if you do you get free shipping? Not sure...Lori has it I think...

Valerie must be on her trip?

Hi to Josie!

Take care,

Good Morning,

Deb-I'm sorry about the sleep - I know how that feels :(

Yes, I have Amazon Prime. I do a lot of my shopping there, with the free shipping.

Have a great day, I'll check back later

Judy

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did STS disk 23 for legs (50 min.). I also went for a walk last night after dinner with Max. I have sclerotherapy tomorrow, so I am pleased to have done my final legs in meso 2 before my week off. Not sure what I will do for legs in meso 3, because I cannot do the plyo and I don't have a squat rack. Maybe I will just go lighter on the weights or do the legs from XTrain.

Deb, no, Billie Jean King gave a commencement speech after the opening gambit of serving balls. Everyone said the speech was excellent. Sorry about your bad zzzz.

Lori, have you watched the latest episode of GOT? Apparently people who haven't read the books are complaining about the violence. I knew what was coming, so I wasn't shocked, but it is quite a devastating episode. Walder Frey is played to perfection--meaning he is truly HORRIBLE! Next week is the finale.

Chilly here today--only 60. Go figure!

Hi Ladies,

Counting down, only 11 more days to go! I’m taking a week off the 10th through the 14th. ;) My workout for today will be cardio power and resistance.

The weather in LA has also been weird. Last week it was very hot and this week it has cooled down by 20 degrees.

Have to get back to work, I want to clear my desk of everything. I do not want to leave any loose ends ;) I also want to get rid of the bodies in the closet ;)

Josie

Hi ladies!

Slept in this morning. Yesterday morning I did Ride, then came home and disc 22 (which fried my arms) then I walked Chester. Felt I deserved a sleep in.

At lunch I went for a 2 mile walk with my walking ankle weights and 1lb gloves. Was nice to actually walk out side without being dragged by my dog!

Not sure if I will get a workout in tonight as we have an appt at 7pm. If our appt is quick then it will be 30 minutes of heavy bag. If it is long then it will be a glass of wine. :) long sounds good right now.

Garance...wish you well with your procedure. I have not watched this last episode. perhaps I will have a chance tonight. I have read that everyone is up in arms over it. guess it is pretty gorey. So many have not read the books and did not know what to expect. I wondered how S3 would end now I know exactly how! I am about 1/3 thru book 5. It is going to kill me to wait for book 6!!

Judy...no way I could ride a spin bike that long! Golly good for you!

Deb..I have amazon prime and love it. I practically buy everything on amazon. Not everything is free ship but most. I have even steamed movies from time to time plus you get one free kindle book a month through the lending library.

Josie...LOL! Bodies in the closet! That was great!!!

Hi to Valerie!

Have a great night!

Hi Everyone,

This morning I did a Core Max premix, and Ab Circuits-Medicine Ball Abs for a total of 35 minutes, then I walked/jogged 4.25 miles before work. It was very sunny and in the high 60's today.

Garance-Good luck with your procedure tomorrow.

Josie-So glad you are almost done with work!

Lori-Amazon prime is awesome! I have definitely made use of the free shipping and the videos. I forgot about the kindle library. I've borrowed a few times, but not recently.

Deb-Thanks for the link! It is quite a bit cheaper than Amazon!

Valerie-Hope you are having a great vacation!

Good night,

Judy

Good morning,

No workout today, I tried to sleep in but it didn't work that well.

Garance, good luck today with the procedure. Still trying to get a Murad for you at a decent price. I will let you know when one is on the way. I think I used my old workout bench that uprights to simulate a squat rack in Meso 3, how heavy would you be going? I think the Tower could hold a lot, plus you have your weighted vest..isn't that 20 pounds? I have not used in since STS..forgot about it actually.

Josie, yes I LOL'd about the bodies in the closet too...also very envious of you right now!

Lori, so what was it? workout or wine? :)..is the free Kindle book is borrowed, you don't get to keep it? if we purchased the Amazon prime, do we both get to use it on our devices, or just one of us? I have the Kindle ap on my iPad, and John has a Kindle...

Judy, you're welcome! I know you will like this bb set...I think you can get additional plates too if you want..I have so many plates from other sets that I didnt need any more. The covered ones are nice.

Work, then debating on going to the dog club meeting tonight..ugh...we are also loading the trailer for the agility trial this weekend...so I should probably go.

Take care,

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

Had what I hope is the final sclerotherapy on my right leg. It really looks almost vein-free. I have another vein closure on my left leg (July 10) because I have two saphenous veins and one of them is still open. Sigh! I feel like this has been going on for ages.

Deb, I forgot about my vest. I will have to think about this next week before beginning meso 3.

OOH--bodies in the closet sounds intriguing, Josie.

Went to see Star Trek into Darkness last night. Really good from start to finish, but I loved this series. 3D is pretty good, but I think I would have been just as happy watching it without.

Does anyone hate tags in their clothing?? I just go crazy and have to whip out my seam ripper every time I put on something new. Why don't they just use the printing idea and get rid of the tags?

Hi all!!!

You are funny Deb! Did both...I actually was home early from work so I did a quick 2 miles on TM, had our appt then we both had a glass of wine while just chatting at the kitchen table. My DH works so many hours so it is nice when we can just sit and chat.

Ran this morning and tonight was disc 23 legs. One more workout then on to meso 3 already. Deb I think you mentioned it moves slowly between sets. This may drive me nuts. So we'll see how it goes. I may need to fast forward!

Deb...if you and your husband are on the same amazon account then you can have multiple devices. I have 6 kindles, one Fire, 2 ipads and 2 iphones all sharing my amazon with no problems. My family is pretty much our own little book club! Sometimes it is really fun when a few of us are reading the same books. Right now my brother and I are reading Game of Thrones so it is great to be chatting with him about it. For the prime lending you do not keep the book. You get one a month and you both can read at the same time. The the next month when you make your selection it will ask you if you want to return the previous book. You enter yes then go on to your next book! Very easy.

Garance...good to hear that your leg is vein free. July 10 will be hear soon enough and hopefully this will all be behind you. Hope you are resting comfortably. Oh and I cut most of my tags out too. :)

Judy...how do you like the medicine ball abs? I recently downloaded this workout last week. I have not tried it yet. I hate hate hate doing abs and will avoid at all cost. I feel all the kickboxing/ heavy bag workouts work my abs enough. :).
